Treetop House - Charming Artistic in the Canopy of Monteverde

The TreeTop House in Monteverde is within walking distance to Curi Cancha private Reserve and a short drive the the Monteverde's Cloud Forest Reserve. The artistic charming house is located 150 m off the main road to the Cloud Forest Reserve Monteverde. 200 m from CPI and Monteverde Institute. 600 m from the Monteverde Friend's school and from the Cloud Forest School CEC. Also a very short ride to the village of Sta. Elena. The house is tagged away 150 m from the main road in the end of the driveway with plenty of private parking as well as plenty of privacy. The out door garden with sitting area invites to watch birds or just have coffee with your family and /or friends.
Internet is via optical wire and is pretty stable and fast enough as long as ICE is not interrupting the service in the area due to weather influence or repair.

All tour operators pick you up here since the house is well-known. This makes this location an unique spot to stay. A hidden gem away from the crowd.

Large windows let you feel you are living between the trees. The house is designed on 4 floors, with connection out door under roofing. Each floor has a private entrance from the outside. This makes the house fun to discover, play hide and seek, be cozy on one floor or have different activities going on on each floor.

Phone and WiFi for your equipment is set firm.

The house is very suitable for big groups, families and couples.

Our stay at the TreeTop House was one of the most memorable parts of our Costa Rica adventure.If you’re looking for a polished luxury resort, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for an experience you’ll still be reminiscing about months later, you’ve found it.The house truly feels like Swiss Family Robinson tucked into the cloud forest. The photos are accurate, and waking up in the canopy surrounded by birds and the sounds of the forest was unforgettable. Nearly six months later, my family and I are still talking about our time there.Sabine was an excellent host. Her communication was prompt, thoughtful, and detailed. Be sure to follow her driving instructions rather than relying solely on GPS as they made finding the property easy.This is the kind of place that becomes part of your travel story. It encouraged us to slow down, embrace the adventure, and experience Monteverde in a way that a standard hotel never could.We would absolutely stay here again, and we sincerely appreciate Sabine sharing such a unique place with travelers.

The treetop house was so fun, the kids loved it especially. It is so unique it is difficult to describe. The layout and the kitchen make it feel more like glamping then a vacation house but we adjusted nicely. We did manage to cook meals for all 11 of us in the kitchen and on the grill, the cooking area is small but doable. The bedrooms are comfy and the location is great. Sabine was so helpful in setting up our tours and answering all of our questions.

We had a great stay. Eclectic place. Wish the kitchen had a microwave and some type of condiments. The water wouldn’t get hot so with 10 people, the showers were pretty cool at times. A few more towels would have been great. We had to outside to use the closest bathroom, so at night, a little scary and cold.

As described in our listing, we intentionally do not provide a microwave to encourage a more sustainable, unplugged experience. Since condiments are difficult to keep fresh in our tropical climate, we leave it up to each guest to bring their favorites. Regarding the hot water, the house has an on-demand water heater, so minimum pressure is necessary. I always encourage our guests to reach out to walk them through to get the showers hot. We stayed 4 different places on our trip and tried to pick unique accommodations at each stop. The Treetop House did not disappoint. We were shocked at how spacious it was. So many areas to explore and all with fun decor. We were only 7 but this could accommodate a much bigger group without feeling crowded. The kicthen is a bit rustic but it worked just fine. We enjoyed our stay - the kids absolutely loved it - and we would stay again.

Unique and fun property

Wonderful stay. Sabine was a gracious and helpful host. There was plenty of space and our children loved exploring all the different levels and rooms. This was by far their top choice! We also scheduled a horseback ride with Sabine's stables and this was a highlight of our trip!

Great stay in a charming, unique home

Our group of 12 had a wonderful stay at Sabine’s spacious home. Sabine, our host, meet us at check in and gave us a thorough overview of the house and things to do nearby. Great Time at a Quirky Place in the Cloud Forest

My family with 5 boys spent a couple nights at the Treetop House and had a great time. The place is huge. Very artsy and unique. Much more of a rustic experience, though we personally were fine with it, just be prepared!

Unique house

Spent Christmas break with my daughters and their children. The house was perfect for providing privacy for our party of 8 that included 4 teenagers who appreciated having some personal space. Sabine was a most wonderful host - helping plan our activities, securing reservations and recommending knowledgeable guides. Plenty of nearby restaurants, shops and vistas to explore .

Rustic treetop house

Our 2 families enjoyed our short two day stay at the Treetop House with its many unique rooms, stairs and rustic feel. It was much colder and windier than we anticipated and we were not prepared, however there were plenty of blankets to keep us warm and we made the best out of our time ziplining and enjoying the town.

It's really in the trees

We loved this very funky house! Plenty of bedrooms for all, and several spaces to gather and watch wildlife. We saw toucans, parrots, monkeys, and even a pair of golden-browed chlorophonia. Within walking distance of several restaurants and Curi-Cancha Reserve. Sabine is communicative and very helpful.

Top-tier host, charming property in a magical place

Monteverde is a magical place, and the treehouse offers a great location, charm, and amazing host for new and returning visitors. Sabine offered insightful advice and help with sketching out and booking an itinerary and was attentive in all communication. The various levels of the treehouse have private access points/keys so you can easily allow groups to spread out and get some space for individual privacy and downtime while easily being able to reconnect as a whole group.
