About this property

Family friendly beach house, 5 min walk to Croatan Beach and bike to boardwalk

Our beach house is located in a peaceful neighborhood that is just a short walk to the beach and still close enough to the boardwalk to bike or even for a long walk there. We have a well-equipped kitchen, two laundries, and an outdoor shower. We have decks on the back of the house with hammocks, swings, and lounge chairs, and we even a small work area with a desk in the main bedroom on the second floor for those times you need to check in. This is a great place to bring your family, especially children. The Virginia Aquarium and their adventure park are just a 15 minute walk away (you can also drive, especially if it rains), and we provide bikes and some beach toys as well.

Trash day is Tuesday, so if you happen to be there on that day, please roll the bin out to the street. Recycling is every other Tuesday, you can tell by the other bins on the street.

The perfect house that is super close to the beach. We were able to walk to the beach every morning to watch the sunrise. Amazing rooms and plenty of space. The house had everything you could want for the beach to include chairs, bikes, buggies, and surfboards. Great for our family and nice quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be booking again!

Excellent time in VA Beach

Had a great time staying at this beach house, very close to two beaches, host was super helpful with providing all needed info like key code and other knowledge about the area well in advance. Also solid fishing nearby, caught a hammerhead and many sea bass, would stay here again for sure!

You must stay at this house (Virginia Beach )

This is one of our favorite stays. The house is huge, and fully equipped for a great time at the beach. The location is perfect, very close to the beach, museums, water parks, and minutes from the VA beach (main) strip. You get the privacy of Croatan beach with all the amenities of the ocean front right next door. We cannot recommend this property enough!

Virginia Beach Croatan House

Great host! Very involved and attentive. Had everything we needed. Two blocks from the beach. Croatan is a great little neighborhood off the main strip which allowed for a smaller, more local crowd. Highly recommend.

Short Beach Trip

We really enjoyed the home. It had plenty of space for our family and was close to all of the things we needed and wanted to experience. The owner was easy to communicate with and prompt. The space is a little dated in some aspects but they are doing upgrades where it really counts for comfort to things like AC. We loved the convenience of the outdoor shower, wash sink, and washer and dryer placement.

We had a wonderful stay at Chris's beach house! The home was extremely clean with a very well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for our family of 5 adults over 3 levels. We loved the outdoor shower and multiple decks overlooking the backyard. It was about a 5 minute walk to the beautiful, sandy beach. Provided were plenty of beach chairs, toys and a beach cart. We didn't use the bicycles but they looked to be in excellent condition. Chris was a very attentive host. I would stay here again and would highly recommend this home!

We enjoyed our stay. We came only for a weekend festival but since the house came stocked with so much beach gear we decided to take advantage of it, quick walk to the beach. We used one of the bikes to get to the boardwalk. And also enjoyed the outdoor shower. The house is huge and we never felt cramped. Chris responded very quickly when we messaged him. Would love to book again down the line for a family beach trip!

Nice area. Just a short walk to the beach. Short bike ride or walk to the board walk. Plenty of bikes and Beach equipment in the garage. Great air conditioning, all appliances work, well stocked on house hold stuff in the kitchen, plenty of towels, hot water and usable furniture. Nice decks. Great TV’s and entertainment items. Had a great and comfortable time.

We rent out our second home because we want to share something we love with other families, and also to use the income to slowly upgrade what is admittedly dated decor. We try to make up for the dated appearance of some things with thoughtful provisioning, an excellent cleaner, and good communication. We make steady progress, but there are still some items on the list.

We are Cathy and Chris, and we live in Alexandria, VA. We bought a house in Virginia Beach because Chris grew to love the area when he was in the Marines. We brought our son here as he was growing up and we have a lot of great memories of this area together. We bought the house some years ago in a kind of neglected state and we are using the rental income to upgrade it one winter project at a time. You will notice that all the bathrooms except for the main bedroom have been upgraded, the deck has been upgraded, and we've painted and done other things as well. We make up for the wear you can still see in places with amenities. But that aside, our hope is for other families to have great beach house memories together like our family does. It really is a special category of family vacation.

The neighborhood is on the beach, and it's biking distance to the boardwalk and some key local attractions like the Virginia Aquarium and adventure park, and the Ocean Breeze water park/go kart track.

What makes this property unique

We are an easy five minute walk to the beach, which works even with small children. We keep a rolling inventory of beach toys and we provide bicycles for those times driving isn't as good an option.
