About this property
North View Cabins #1 - Comfortable 2Bed/1Ba Cabin with Private Deck on the Lake!
Welcome to North View Cabins on Houghton Lake! We have 3 cabins onsite; you can rent one or rent all three to accommodate your group.
This is Cabin 1, where you can enjoy close waterfront access in a comfortable setting with everything you need for a great stay. This is a 2-bedroom 1-bathroom cabin, sleeps 6.
Outside...Take a few steps down the landing to the lake shore and dock. Cabin 1 includes its own private deck on the lake with cooler, chairs and table (Memorial weekend thru Labor Day weekend). Sandy bottom swimming area, paddle boards, kayaks, floats, raft, and water toys. Cabin 1 has its own fire pit, picnic table, BBQ grill, and dining table/chairs. Includes complimentary firewood. Overnight mooring/anchoring available. A pontoon boat lift is available to reserve with your stay (see "parking" fee). Water equipment and docks are available mid-May to mid-Oct. Onsite parking can accommodate one trailer and two vehicles per township ordinances; complementary offsite parking is available.
In the cabin...there's a comfortable living room with a large TV. Full kitchen with breakfast bar with walkout to shady private brick paver patio. Have your morning coffee on the sunny front deck. The sunroom has a surprisingly comfortable full futon with game table; you can open all the sunroom windows for naps in the refreshing lake breezes. Bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The first bedroom has a queen bed and TV, and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds and a TV. Includes WiFi, board games, all linens (except beach towels), starter coffee supplies.
In the area...Owens trailhead is about 2.2 miles away and you can drive your toys from the cabins legally. You could walk to anything you may need like grocery stores, bars, diners, and stores. The DNR boat launch is nearby, also parks, beaches, golf courses, and historical sites.
In the winter...Easy access to the frozen lake for ice fishing and ORV fun. Tip-Up-Town is held just down the street.
Minimum night stay may vary depending on the time of year. Please message to see if we can do less than the listed minimum nights listed. See you soon at Cabin 1!

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Weatherington
There is a certain magic to Northern Michigan that you just can't find anywhere else. Having grown up here, I’ve spent my life enjoying the lakes, the forests, and the changing seasons. My mission is to share that magic with you. I provide vacation rentals not just as a business, but as a way to help families and friends create the same kind of lifelong Michigan memories that I treasure. Welcome to your home away from home!
Why they chose this property
Because Houghton Lake is Michigan’s ultimate playground! I picked this specific neighborhood because it offers a quiet retreat just a stone's throw from all-season adventures like fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. You get all the convenience of being near the best shops and trails, but with the tranquil atmosphere of a residential lakeside community.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique because it offers a front-row seat to Michigan’s largest inland lake with the comfort of a private sanctuary. Guests love our light-filled sunroom for relaxing regardless of the weather, and our kayaks and paddleboards make getting on the water effortless. End your day at the fire pit in our quiet neighborhood—it’s the authentic, hassle-free Michigan getaway you’ve been looking for.
