About this property
Falcon House - Modern ranch next to city park and just 5 blocks from the beach.
This home is just a short 5-block walk from the beach and downtown Rockaway Beach. It is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, adjacent to the city park with play structure, basketball court, horseshoe pits and a shady picnic area.
All new, inside and out. This split-level ranch has a fantastic open-concept great room with a modern, fully equipped kitchen, a dining table that seats 6, a cozy sectional in front of the fireplace, an entertainment center with TV, game and puzzle collection, and a 9-foot shuffleboard table. The large island seats 4.
The 3 bedrooms are each unique. The primary has a king bed, bedside tables with USB ports, en-suite bath with a shower, and a task desk. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the bunk-room has a bunk bed and a single bed. The family bath has a large freestanding tub in a cozy tile nook. All bedrooms and bathrooms are on the second level at the top of a short flight of stairs.
The garage is set up as a rec room with a ping pong and foosball table, a comfy couch, and a life-sized poster of Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon. Here you’ll find beach chairs, beach shelter tent, beach toys, a collection of kites, and the laundry. The large deck has comfortable seating around a gas fire pit and a gas barbecue.
The basement ADU is used by the owners when on-site for maintenance/repairs, and is never occupied when guests are present. There are two security cameras on the property, focused on the front yard and side yard parking areas only. These cameras can only be accessed by the owners, and all data is deleted after 30 days.
Rockaway Beach was a vacation spot before highways were established, bringing families in the 1920s to its expansive, sandy beach via train. A steam engine train still carries vacationers along a route with views of Tillamook Bay, Recreational possibilities include crabbing, clam digging, fishing, hiking, kite flying, kayaking, surfing, storm and whale watching, great beachcombing, and fun events year round.
This part of the north Oregon coast is rich with charming little towns to explore.
The historic town of Wheeler, famous for its antique shops, is on Nehalem Bay just 7.5 miles to the north. The Jetty Marina on Nehalem Bay offers crabbing and boat rentals. Tiny Nehalem, featuring a winery and several galleries, is 10 miles north, and the beautiful village of Manzanita, 12 miles north, offers great dining and shops. Just past the hiking and surfing mecca of Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain, the iconic city of Cannon Beach is just 26 miles north of us.
Driving south 5 miles from Rockaway Beach, Garibaldi hosts a Maritime museum, historic steam train rides and myrtlewood factory, along with a pier and marina with everything you need for crabbing and clam digging on Tillamook Bay. Tillamook, the county seat, is 15 miles south and is well known for the newly remodeled Tillamook Cheese Factory, Blue Heron Cheese companies, the Tillamook Air Museum, Cape Lookout State Park, and the beautiful Three Capes scenic drive.
