Situated 5 minutes west of Superior Montana The Railroad Baron has a great location to get to local outdoor adventures. Fly fishing, hiking, rafting, horseback riding and mountain biking to name a few. The home sits on 4 acres that frequents wildlife crossing in the back yard. You enter through the back door with a code. There is one private room, one full bathroom, open loft with 4 queen beds, and open living, dining kitchen area. The train crossing is close but only adds to the charm of the Railroad theme of the house.

The house is super cute with plenty of room. Kitchen had everything we needed. Nice to have access to streaming services on the TVs. Kids loved watching the trains go by, but if you are a light sleeper they could wake you up at night. Wasn’t an issue for our family.
Yes, the train is loud but peaceful the rest of the time. We had plenty of space and were able to have family amd friends over Saturday evening.

Decent location, overpriced
Let me start by saying we left after the first night. Yes in the description is says near a railroad track, we didn’t assume that it was 100 yards from a railroad crossing with 5-6 trains per night coming through the intersection and laying on the horn multiply times.
Second thing, we did not receive any access or Wi-Fi information until 6:15pm the day we were to arrive despite, several attempts to contact host through text and VRBO message system. Once host responded the wrong code was given to the front door, which delayed our arrival even more.
Third item was the Wi-Fi is barely existent, I completely understand a cabin in a semi-rural setting would not have the greatest Wi-Fi, but if an email can not come through on a phone that is very weak.
Lastly, the one shower was horrible. The one shower door that moved was the one directly under the shower head and had no handle on the door. The shower head also had not been cleaned of hard water build up in some time and despite having multiple settings, the only water you could get was a misting that went all over the bathroom, or a pulsating single stream.
We reached out to host to share our concerns and issues, and host was unwilling to work with us on a partial refund, just replied with we have a strict no refund policy. If you want relaxing worry free, quiet getaway, look else where.
4 of us had a spectacular time. Fishing and hiking mostly. This place was close to what we wanted to do yet far away from the hustle and bustle of tourists spots. You must like trains as it does go though regularly. We thought it added an old wild west charm to our very first visit to this magnificent state. We would definitely stay here again.
We’ve struggled to get our older kids off the technology and our younger ones had never been on a vacation. Our son has a serious heart condition so we can’t take normal vacations. A friend rented this for us for three days to get away in a safe space/ it was incredible!! The kids played outside and watched a spider weave a web and collected rocks and leaves and loved the trains! It was the most amazing vacation of our lives. We can’t wait to save up enough to go back. It was perfection.
