Fishing gem

Our (8) man group has based our annual Potter/Clinton trip out of this cabin for the last few years. The owners use this cabin frequently and you can tell they take pride in cleanliness, upkeep, and comfort. All we have to worry about is what stream to fish next. Keep your line tight, you’ll catch fish.

Family, Fishing, Fires, and Freedom

We have stayed at multiple cabin sites in recent years as a family and this was my personal favorite. Our family had a wonderful time and the fishing was fantastic, especially considering we stayed in the heat of July. The cabin was clean and the check in process was exceptionally helpful. Joe was so kind in going above and beyond in introducing us to the cabin and Ralph was very attentive in providing helpful information and ensuring our stay went well. This was a great opportunity to unplug and focus on time and memories together as a family. Lots of simple things to do for fun in this picturesque area which is an outdoorsman’s dream. Some hefty and willing trout were icing on the cake of a great adventure. Highly recommend this stay - would give it two fly rods up 👍👍🎣🎣

Fisherman’s Paradise

We have a group of (8) fly fishermen that have been fishing the streams in this area for more than two decades. Ralph’s camp puts our annual trip over the top. The camp is clean and well organized. Young Woman’s creek is a beautiful, healthy stream that will surrender a prize trout if you are willing to work for it. Joe always has sound info on the hatches and he may even offer up a honey hole from time to time. Evenings under the stars around the fire ring, embellishing stories with fishing buddies, the world melts away. Thanks for making us feel like invited friends.

Amazing Cabin

Our second time staying here within a month. We love this cabin, it big but yet cozy. Felt at home while staying, lots of privacy. The neighbors are very friendly and will say hello, while driving by. Ralph is very kind and allowed us to use what ever was in this cabin, such as the fishing polls. They are lakes and fishing holes near by. Joe will be more than happy to show you area. Thanks again Mr. Ralph, we are planning our next trip already.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

My children and I had a great time. The property was well maintained and clean. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures. When we arrived the caretaker, Joe, showed us around, gave us some back story and suggested some local sights to check out. If you are looking for a quiet out of the way place to relax or a comfortable base camp, look no further.

Nice place for relaxation

Even though it was a short vacation, we liked everything. The house reminds us of a cozy fishers and hunters house, located in a place with a breathtaking view. Time goes by slowly since there's no service or wifi and you can very much take a break from an everyday repeating life cycle. Owners were welcoming, answered questions and provided a house tour. We think we are going to come again, and highly recommend this for others!

About the host

Hosted by Ralph Slyder

Host profile image
It all began for me on the banks of Young Woman’s Creek, a place where the water runs clear and the air is crisp with the scent of pine. I was there with a close friend, fly rods in hand, when we met a seasoned angler—the cabin's original owner—by chance on the stream. What started as a shared love for the quiet pursuit of trout quickly became a deep and lasting friendship for the three of us. We spent days casting lines, sharing stories, and escaping the hustle of our daily lives.

As our bond grew, we discovered this small, rustic cabin nestled deep in the mountains. The original owner, seeing the same passion we held for the land, decided to pass the torch. The three of us invested in the property together, turning it into more than just a cabin—it became our sanctuary. It was a place to unwind after a long day on the water, to sit around a crackling fire and relive the day’s catches, and to simply enjoy each other's company.

Now, years later, the cabin stands as a testament to our friendship. It's where we've celebrated retirements and spent countless hours together as sportsmen, away from the noise of the world. The cabin is filled with the memories of shared laughter and the timeless bond forged on a mountain stream.

We're so excited to share it with you. We invite you to experience the same magic, to unplug from the day-to-day grind, and to find your own stories on the banks of Young Woman’s Creek. We hope you'll feel the same sense of peace and connection that we do every time we’re here.
