About this property
Fantastic Family Lakefront Home on Peaceful Isle LaMotte, VT!
Come enjoy the peaceful island vibe of Isle LaMotte on Lake Champlain, VT in this new waterfront home! Outside, there is a waterfront deck with wrought iron umbrella table and cushioned chairs for lakeside dining, and stairs down to a dock with a ladder for lake access. Overlooking the lake are chaise lounges and Adirondack chairs for afternoon reading and a steel firebowl for evening stargazing. The house has a huge front deck overlooking a large front yard and flower garden with a "chat set" comprised of cushioned chairs, a table, and umbrella for a serene spot to enjoy early morning coffee or to savor sunset cocktails. The front deck also includes two lounge chairs and side table for lakeside relaxing. The back yard has a large yard for games and a large dining table with umbrella for family outdoor dining along with a grill. The lakehouse does come with a lake mooring for your boat with a boat access to the lake right down the road, and the fishing right in front of the house is fantastic.
Inside, the front of the house has huge glass sliders and custom shades in the dining room, living room, and primary bedroom to maximize the beautiful lake view. There is a full kitchen with a pantry stocked with spices, coffee and tea. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, kitchen appliances including a Keurig coffeemaker, a gas stove/oven, dishwasher, and two sets of dishes and glasses for dining-glass and pottery for inside, plastic ones for outside to minimize breakage. The dining room has a buffet stocked with table linens and stemware, a dining room table that seats 6 and four counter barstools. The living room has amazing lake views through the sliders and oversized windows, comfortable seating, a gas fireplace, and a flat screen tv above the fireplace with Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV. Off the rear entryway is the main first floor bathroom with shower. All three bathrooms come stocked with a hairdryer, body soap/shampoo, bathmat, hand soap, makeup wipes, toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning products. The primary bedroom has a slider that goes out to the lakeside front deck, a king size bed, large dresser, two bedside tables, a large closet and an en suite bathroom with shower. The first floor also includes two bedrooms with queen size beds furnished with sheets, pillows, duvet and blanket, dresser, bedside tables, good-size closets, and large curtained windows overlooking the backyard. Towels are provided, including beach towels. For your comfort, the house is air conditioned and heated. The house is served by a drilled well, and the water is great to drink. There is fast Wifi.
Downstairs is a space distinctly nautical in nature, and designed with kids in mind-although adults love this space too. The main Library is stocked with books for adults and kids, an incredibly comfy couch and chair with ottoman, and another tv with Direct TV and games stocked in the tv stand. Off the Library is a large bedroom with a king-size bed, large dresser and mirror, big closet, and chair and ottoman. The bathroom downstairs is a full bath with a tub and shower. Rounding out the living space downstairs is an office area, and two twin daybeds for rainy day reading or just hanging out. Three windows downstairs are equipped with escape wells for added safety. There is also a washer and dryer in the utility room.
Isle Lamotte has so many points of interest that your days will be full! In addition to the swimming right out your front door, within walking distance from the lakehouse is the Isle LaMotte quarry preserve featuring some of the oldest fossils ever found and abundant wildlife. There is a winery on the islands which does wine tastings, a local village store, a golf course just off the island, and wonderful biking and walking opportunities. There are many unique dining, antiquing, and recreational opportunities on the Champlain Islands just minutes away. Montreal and Burlington are a little over an hour away with all the cultural experiences and shopping that go with a more urban area.
While the pantry is stocked with spices, we encourage you to shop before arriving as the closest large grocery stores are either in New York or closer to Burlington. There is a detailed list of local amenities in the House Book that I will email you prior to your arrival, and a hard copy will be available in the house.
Both my husband Bill and I believe that family includes dogs, so your dog is welcome at our lakehouse for an additional fee provided some basic rules are followed: dogs must be leashed at all times outside, dogs must be up to date with rabies and distemper vaccines, (you should have their vaccination paperwork with you and it must be submitted prior to your arrival), dogs should be up to date on flea and tick preventative, and dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds-we have two dog beds that we will happily share with your pet, and we also have a luxurious dog-lounger outside so that your pet can fully enjoy the comforts of our home! We can discuss your pet(s) when we connect prior to booking.
Please note that we require a signed Rental Agreement to be executed. The Rental Agreement has a complete list of House Rules. Minimum rental is 3 days, with check-in time 3:00 PM and check out time 11:00 AM. Rental discounts for multiple-week stays over 28 days. Pet fee apply. This is a non-smoking property. Primary renter ID required along with number of guests. No gatherings of more than 10 people at any time allowed on the property.
We are adding some new recreational amenities this year with the addition of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and bikes. I look forward to speaking with you and booking your family summer vacation!
