This turn of the century, 4th generation family home is nestled in the mountains of Montreat. The soothing sounds of mountain streams, grand mountain views, mountain trails, absolutely spectacular scenic overlooks, picturesque lakes all await you for your week of relaxation or adventure. Come see what all the talk about the North Carolina mountains is all about.

The square features of this 1900's family cottage are wrapped by an extensive front porch. In keeping with many homes of that time, the porch was meant to cool the interior during the warm summer months. Today it also serves as a refuge during an afternoon rain. Most people are introduced to this grand 7 bedroom, 2 bath house as they pull up the driveway. Many families have used the Pratt House as a refuge and a wonderful place to create memories. Built in 1919 for a widow from South Carolina, this house was meant to be large enough to handle a good-sized family. When Charles and Pattie Ward Pratt found it several years later they were convinced it would be the right place to bring up their family.

Conversations linger on the front porch well into the night. Children sleeping on the porch overhead are easily monitored by their parents below. Daily rearrangements of chairs and rockers allow guests and family to join for conversations and catching up.

The Pratt house is a family run rental and we use it throughout the year as well. We have many years of experience with rentals and we look forward to you creating your own memories in our lovely home.
