Disappointed
The location of this property is great, we were so excited as it is a very charming historic property but we had too many issues that made our stay. I usually don't complain and I am willing to overlook a lot but...... 1. There was mouse poop on 2 occasions in the bedroom in which we were sleeping. 2. The bathtub did not drain. The owner had a plumber come over and fix it but it was an odd setup. The shower curtain hung into the tub by about 4 inches all the way around so you had to stand on the shower curtain which was a bit slimy from the soaps. If you pulled the shower curtain up so it didn't hang into the tub water leaked all over the floor. I am 5'8" anyone taller would not be able to stand under the shower as it is built into the slope of the roof. 3. There were no wash rags provided we had to provide our own wash rags which we purchased and left at the property. 4. There was only one towel per person. We were there for 7 days and some of us liked a towel for our body and hair. 5. The air conditioning worked just fine when we arrived and the first 2 days of our trip. The owner came over while we were there to replace the thermostat with one she could control remotely. It was so incredibly hot and unbearable to sleep. The window unit upstairs is so old that it did not produce enough air to cool the space. 5. The lights turned on and off automatically in the middle of the night. We reached out to the owner about this and were told someone must be messing with the switches. Well, this was not the case as we were all sleeping at 3 am when they switched on. This happened on multiple occasions throughout many nights we were there. The only way to make sure they did not turn on and off by themselves was to turn the lights completely off, which meant the ceiling fan was turned off and added to the lack of air to keep cool. 6. The kitchen is lacking, with no toaster, and no spoons to serve food with etc. 2 of the kitchen chairs were missing screws in them and were unsafe to sit on as they were ready to collapse. 7. The unit has 2 additional units attached. One of the units left its outdoor flood lights on all day and night which shined into the bedroom. This would have been ok other than there are no blinds. All of the windows have sheer see-through blinds which when you sleep in the bed on the main floor the street lights shine into the room. Upstairs just sheer see-through blinds as well so you wake up when the sun wakes up!
