I am a retired Neurologist and grew up on the coast. this is about the best beach house that my family and i have stayed. Has some problems but they are minor. The management company was great.n. The house was super. Would stay next year but the price doubled. Would report to the managers and the owners of that the house is wonderful. J. Baldwin Smith, MD
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful spacious home. There was plenty room for our family of 13, very nice kitchen for preparing meals, and the pool table was enjoyed by all. We loved being on the Beach and the kids enjoyed the pool even though it was cold. Probably would spend the extra to have it heated next time. This is a great place to stay and would stay again.
Beautiful home, right on the beach, with a heated pool that our kids loved! Home was well stocked with everything we needed.
Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family to spread out.
Home was close to the park with a great playground, basketball court, tennis, and pickle ball. Lots for everyone to do!
Only concern was the elevator was not working during our stay, which was only an issue with packing and unpacking. Also the hot tube had not been serviced, so was not useable. Since we were there in March and it was still chilly, that would have been nice.
All in all, I would highly recommend!
We strayed from our usual Outer Banks location for our summer family vacation and headed to Oak Island and a brand new property. Loved the proximity to the beach! Windy but delightful weather. The house provided us with all the room we needed. Kitchen is well equipped except for having only one dishwasher and a pool table/dining table hybrid which we never got to use for playing pool. Just too inconvenient to convert. The views from the house to the beach were beautiful. Overly beach-themed decor. Pool/deck was smaller than we were accustomed to but we made it work. Will definitely return to Oak Island after a wonderful week at Once Ypon a Tide.
Overall everything was great. Our only real complaint is how well you could hear someone walking on the floor above you. We didn’t feel like between floors was very well insulated. In the mornings or late at night if someone walked on the floor above you it was loud. The house has ten bedrooms so it accommodates a lot of people! We had 23 people with 9 kids under the age of eight. Someone was always up early and it was loud. Other than that the house was really nice. King bed in every room which is awesome!!!!
