About this property

Epic Lake Michigan Bluff Home 2-Acre + Heated Pool

Look for the sign that says Lighthouse Bluffs. That is your turn. A private driveway runs back through mature pines onto more than two acres on the bluffs of Lake Michigan. No shared lot. No hotel corridor. Trees, sky, and then the water.

The house faces east. From nearly every window you get Lake Michigan, the Kewaunee lighthouse, and the harbor. Sunrises land on this side of the state. Coffee in the kitchen, mug on the deck, lake already doing the work.

Guests say the same things in the reviews — and then they come back. This listing is a Guest Favorite for a reason. People write about the views, the pool, how stocked and thought-through the house is. Families and friend groups rebook year after year. It is not a one-weekend rental they forget. It is the place they put on the calendar again.

This is a fully renovated home — more than 3,400 square feet — rebuilt to feel new: furniture, granite, windows, siding, doors, built-ins. It sleeps a large group without turning into one loud room.

Main floor is where the day starts. Open living with new furniture and custom cabinets, flowing into the family room and kitchen. Stocked coffee bar (Keurig Duo, K-cups, grounds, grinder). Dining room with built-in storage. A king bedroom on this level and a half bath off the living room, so someone can sleep near the action. Expanded mudroom/laundry with a built-in ice maker that puts out about 50 pounds a day.

Upstairs is the quiet stack: four king bedrooms. The master has a private ensuite — tile walk-in shower and a soaking tub. The second full bath has a new tile shower and heated floors.

Lower level is the hangout wing. Bunk room with five twin bunks, a full bath, a living area with a 75" TV and Sonos, and a multicade arcade nook. Kids disappear here. Adults do too, after the fire.

Outside is the reason people book a week.
Backyard: large composite deck over a private heated inground pool with a new epoxy surround. The patio is fenced. Polywood dining for eight, cushioned chaise loungers, a small bistro, a kid picnic table. Hard-piped propane firepit with six swivel chairs. Hard-piped four-burner Weber with a prep table — no tank swap. Pool toys and floats are on site.

A few steps toward the bluff: a permanent wood-burning firepit, eight Adirondack chairs, firewood included (we buy it by the cord). Front of the house: four more Adirondacks looking over the yard, a multi-tier kids’ playset, and an in-ground adjustable basketball hoop.

The finished garage is part of the stay — epoxy floor, TVs, and the outdoor games: cornhole, ping pong, washer toss, bocce, balls, the pile you do not want to haul from home.

Kewaunee is minutes down the road. Marina, lighthouse, public parks, sand beaches. Father Marquette Memorial Park is about a 10-minute walk — playground and beach access. Harbor Point is next to the marina. Selner Park is the bigger beachfront park a short drive south. Algoma is about 10 minutes. Door County is about 25–30 minutes when you want the peninsula and still want to sleep on this bluff. Pets are welcome.

Pool season typically runs late May through mid-October, weather allowing. While it is open the heater is set around 86°F; close the solar cover when you are not in it. Board games and cards are in the house.

You enter through the garage with a 4-digit code sent 24–48 hours before arrival. Message us before or during the stay — questions, early timing when we can swing it, or a larger gathering. This property has the land for a group. It also has the quiet that brings people back.

Full house, full yard, full bluff. Mornings on the lake. Afternoons in the pool. Nights at the fire. That is why they rebook.

We’re local Wisconsin hosts based in the Green Bay area, and Kewaunee has always been one of our favorite stretches of Lake Michigan. We bought and renovated this bluff-top home because we wanted a place that felt like a real getaway: water views, room for family and friends, and outdoor space that actually gets used.
We’re hands-on hosts. We care about the details—clean arrivals, clear instructions, a pool that’s ready, and a house that works for groups. Hosting is not a side hobby for us. We treat it like hospitality: answer quickly, fix issues fast, and set the property up the way we’d want to stay ourselves.

When we’re not working on homes, we’re usually with family, coaching youth hockey, or looking for the next project that makes a stay better. We like being hosts because we get to share a part of Wisconsin that still feels local—sunrise over the lake, a quiet harbor town, and Door County close enough for a day trip.

If you need anything during your stay, reach out. We want this to feel easy from the driveway to checkout.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood for the setting: a private bluff-top stretch above Lake Michigan, just outside Kewaunee’s harbor town. The driveway is marked by the Lighthouse Bluffs sign, and from here you get water, sky, and quiet instead of city noise. Kewaunee itself is a small authentic lakeshore town—pierhead lighthouse, harbor, historic streets, local restaurants, and easy access to Door County without the Door County crowds. What we enjoy most is the contrast. Mornings can be coffee and lake views; afternoons can be the harbor, Ahnapee Trail, or a short drive to wineries and parks; evenings can be the fire pit on the bluff. It’s the kind of neighborhood you pick when you want space, sunrises over the water, and a real Wisconsin shoreline stay rather than a busy resort strip.

What makes this property unique

This property stands out because it sits on a private Lake Michigan bluff, not in a crowded resort strip or a standard neighborhood rental. Guests get wide water views, space to spread out, and a setting that feels like a getaway the moment they turn into the Lighthouse Bluffs driveway.

The home was renovated to handle groups well: multiple king bedrooms plus a bunk room, an arcade, Sonos throughout, and living areas that work for both quiet mornings and bigger gatherings. Outside is what most guests remember—the heated pool (set to 86°F), deck and fire pits, and a bluff-side fire pit with wood and chairs ready to use. The pool has automated chemistry and timed equipment, plus toys and floats in the Keter storage units. Close the cover when you’re done and it stays warmer and cleaner.

We also designed it for an easier stay. You enter through the garage, the welcome book is in the front entry, and the property is set up for 16–20 guests without feeling cramped. The glass railings protect the bluff views instead of blocking them. Kewaunee’s harbor, lighthouse, and restaurants are close; Door County is an easy drive when you want it.

In short: lake, space, pool, and a house that actually works for a group—not just a pretty listing photo.
