About the host
Hosted by Brenda Gunderson

I'm a retired fisherman from Alaska and self proclaimed handyman, my partner is a realtor and artist. Together we enjoy fixing up properties. We live in the unit below and fell in love with Sellwood, as a community and location. The property was going to be a long-term rental, but we had so much fun remodeling it and love how the space turned out so much, we decided to furnish it and share it with more people who can enjoy it.
Why they chose this property
This property is a perfect place to relax, work or play. Probably the best thing about it is the central location.. but it is also ultra comfortable. All new, with high-end beds and bedding, big screen smart TV and internet. Everything is provided if you want to cook and dine-in but so close to New Seasons, food carts and restaurants if you'd rather dine-out.
What makes this property unique
The place has been completely remodeled with comfort in mind.. a heat pump with AC, added insulation and new windows keep the place cozy or cool, whichever you prefer. There is xtra sound proofing in the flooring to keep from hearing folks down below or worrying about anyone hearing you and the new windows also insulate for sound from outside as well. We had to tear up the most of the old floor to level it, but we repurposed it as window and door trim so it did not go to waste and is interesting to look at. We exposed some of the brick, used imported tile with a vintage feel and installed repurposed & refurbished items for light fixtures too. We think you'll love the blend of old and new.
