Cubby's Cove at Water's Edge Cabins

Welcome to the Cove, a fully-furnished suite nestled along the banks of our one-acre lake. Located in the lower level of our all-wood cabin, this suite has a fully furnished kitchen, complete with a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave. We provide complimentary coffee, tea, popcorn, and delicious cookies.

No stay is complete without taking advantage of our outdoor grill, located on the 10'x24' deck overlooking the water. A picnic table is available on the large deck so you can enjoy an outdoor meal or two. You can also sit on the rocker swing and soak in the beauty surrounding you. One can easily fish along the log railing off the deck, or off the grass-covered banks close by. Fishing is free and the rods are provided, but please respect our catch and release policy.

Watch the stars come out while making s'mores over a campfire near the water, then go indoors and fall asleep to the night sounds in an Amish-crafted, queen log bed. Enjoy our nearby gas log stove that provides the Cove with a homey feel.

The Cove has a full bath with a shower and lovely pedestal sink, as well as a corner Jacuzzi, which sets under a window overlooking the beautiful water. Towels and washcloths are provided.

Beautiful & Cozy

My husband and I stayed at this cozy cabin for 2 nights with our little dog and it was so comfortable and perfect for us. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had coffee pods, coffee makers and the things we needed to cook our meals. My husband caught many fish right off the deck! We will return!

Amish getaway

Perfect location! Very clean. Special touches for guests. Loved the bear decorations! Comfortable bed. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect cabin for a couple! Close to everything. Enjoyed a magic show and Amish comedy theatre in Berlin.

Waters Edge Cabins Cove

Had a very nice and relaxing stay at the Cove. Great chance to get away and enjoy nature with everything you need plus more. Just outside of town so combiner location to take time and visit local attractions. Some new construction on the property that was not shown or announced on website or the pictures but no work was done while we were there so we still got to enjoy the peace and sounds of nature.

On the Pond

The place was nice. This vacation space in within a small area with multiple homes/vacation spaces with one parking lot. The unit is on the bottom floor from one of the cabins so if you have noisy up stairs peeps you can hear them like a hotel room. Even with this, the place was cute, quite, stocked with what you needed, and comfortable. The shower is a little small, but the Jacuzzi tub makes up for that. It was a nice stay all around, just wanted people to know more about the property because if you are looking to be by yourself.....this cabin might not be what you are looking for.

Totally Relaxing

Everything was great except that there was no thermostat in the Cove lower residence. There were air conditioning vents but the upstairs tenents must have been in charge of the air. It worked out for us but it was stuffy upon our arrival then people arrived upstairs and it cooled down. Other than that, the bed was comfortable, everything we needed was provided...board games, fishing poles, grill, coffee, etc.

Pictures can be deceiving

Overall our stay was fine. The pictures of the property (both inside and out) make it look much larger than it actually is. It was very close to a busy road so lots of traffic noise. The pictures made it look as though the property was very secluded. After reading the online description, it was not clear to me that we would be sharing the cabin with others; there are two separate units in the cabin, one upstairs, one downstairs. It wasnt until I had booked the cabin and spoke to the host that I understood it was a 2 unit place. That may have been my mistake but it really wasn't very clear. We could hear EVERY word the people in the upstairs unit were saying and it sounded like elephants were walking across the room. Additionally, although the description states it can accomodate 4 people, it was VERY crowded with just 3 adults. It really should be advertised to accommodate TWO people only. It is a VERY small unit. There is one bed and one pull out couch. The pull out couch was a joke. There was a note inside the couch that said there was a blowup mattress in the closet. The note went on to say the "pull out bed" would be much more comfortable if the blow-up mattress was used. But guess what? There was NO blow-up mattress in the closet or anywhere else in the cabin. The bed was extremly uncomfortable and the hosts appear to have known that so again, it really should not be advertised to accommodate more than 2 people. Overall, the cabin was clean however, the microwave had not been cleaned out and neither had the refrigerator. The was standing water on the top shelf and dried food on the other shelves... And lastly, someone had taken the time to fold SOPPING wet towels and leave them sitting on top of the dryer...? There were other towels in the BR for our use but that was a little unusual. For the price we paid to stay there, we were a bit disappointed.

Cubby’s cove was wonderful for us and our dog. We loved the location to Berlin. Cabin was very clean. Communication with the host and onsite caretaker (Maria) was wonderful. Cubby’s has a great setting on the pond. Fire pit just a few steps away with wood provided and fishing gear too. Would definitely return to cubby’s or one of the other cabins at water’s edge.

There were guests staying on the second floor but no noise on our floor other than sometimes their footsteps could be heard, but not loud enough to be bothersome.

Yearly trip

We come every year for our anniversary. We stay at Cubby Cove. It’s the bottom part of house. You can just walk out on deck to fish if you like. Pretty decorations inside and very clean. The only thing I missed this year was the fountain in the lake. We will be back next year.

We have been coming to Ohio Amish Country for 20 years and we love every aspect of it. The sights, the sounds, the smells, and especially the people! When the chance to buy this cabin came along in 2021 we just had to own a small slice of Ohio's Amish Country.

What makes this property unique

The cabin sits on the banks of a beautiful pond less than 1/2 mile from the downtown shopping district of Berlin, Ohio. Enjoy the peace and quiet at the end of a fun day of shopping and eating at the surrounding businesses. Maybe even take in some time fishing in the pond!
