This home was well stocked with what was needed and had some children's games, books, and toys as well. The host was very responsive and we saw deer and rabbits in the yard every day.
Was in the middle of everywhere I wanted to go, and had everything we needed for the weekend. I was without power due to unfortunate circumstances, but the host was kind and courteous enough to refund a night. Would definitely stay again.
Amherst and surrounding area has a lot of trails to hike, fun breweries and restaurants. This house had lots of room, was very comfortable and peaceful.
House was in close proximity to our desired fishing locations.

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Just needs a little TLC
The property was as pictured in the listing, and is in a very convenient location set back off the road with a big yard. There were deer in the yard a few times. The inside was clean except for the very badly stained carpet in one of the bedrooms and bath. We arrived back to the house pretty late one night and the keypad would not work. Fortunately, they had a lockbox with a key as an alternative. The keypad remained jammed for the rest of our stay. The listing said that basic items were provided, but I had to run out a couple of times for toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap and sugar for coffee, and one night when I wanted to open a bottle of wine, there was no corkscrew. A few of the windows would not lock which made me uncomfortable when staying alone. I think that a little extra care would make this a great rental.
Clean and comfortable. Had all the essentials, including full kitchen and laundry. Owner was very responsive and check in/out was easy and convenient. Easy to get to. Fairly close to Wintergreen for skiing, 35-40 minutes and vineyards for the non-skier in our family. Well priced. Would stay again.
Super clean and fully stocked wonderfully decorated-Enjoyed our morning coffee on the front patio and chilled with a bottle of wine in the backyard where the boys played a game of kickball! Visited Lovingston Winery (15 mins.) and the Appomattox Courthouse- (1/2 hr.) Terrific family retreat!
Angela is an awesome host! Thanks a bunch for your hospitality and being so helpful in general.
Nice home for a reset up near Lynchburg. Very quiet. The host is super nice and communicated quickly. Two quick heads up if you come in at night the small sign for house number is hard to see and the key pad for the door can be finiky. Two minor issues that wouldn’t stop us from staying again if we travel to the area. Thank you for the hospitality.
The pros: privacy, cleanliness, cute and considerate touches. The house is sunny and the couches are comfy. The one helpful thing worth noting is that accommodations lean a little toward the petite: the mattresses are clean but not super thick/ supportive. Upgrading to a hotel quality mattress in the master would be ideal in the future for this nice retreat. I appreciated the clean, new flooring throughout, having a washer and dryer, and the sunny porch was great to sit on Sunday morning. Overall a good stay!
The house is adorable and the yard is very spacious. The biggest issue was there was 1 tv in the 3 bedroom home and it was very very small not sure what size it was because it was that small (computer screen size) in the living room on top of a large tv stand. Online it doesn’t show that small because I would have passed by this rental if so, however we were satisfied although we had to go purchase a 40’ tv for our 3 night 4 days stay to be suitable for Us! The kitchen window was Not completely closed from the top which allowed lots of Chinese ladybugs inside the kitchen (I was disgusted) my mate got them out for us and after the second day of investigation we found the window open at the top and tightly closed it so the next guess won’t have to experience them. The refrigerator really needs replacing it’s dirty refrigerator the freezer has rust spots greet you at the opening of the door it leaks into the lower part which is the refrigerator which wasn’t cleaned before our checkin there was grape vines on shelves and hadn’t been wiped clean at all we had to bleach everything a lot and it still wasn’t what it should be for one’s food to be stored. So besides the small tv, ladybug visitors and old refrigerator the stay was a nice, relaxing and quiet area.
Such a lovely and cozy house. We were in town to visit our college student and this housed all of us perfectly! The kitchen is fully stocked making meal preparation easy. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, there was room for everybody. The beds were all comfortable and the reclining sofas & chair were relaxing after a day of hiking! Plenty of good movies on hand (or bring your own) plus enough channels available if you’re in the mood for some tv watching! Board games & cards are also on hand. Nice yard, with plenty of space for outdoor recreation!! Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!!
