The Douceur Angevine holiday house (expression of the pleasant way of life in this part of the Loire Valley) is part of a former manor house in the middle of a large park near Saumur. It is beautifully quiet and offers a great starting point for near and far discoveries.

Completely refurbished in 2018, this former hen house combines modern comfort with ancient materials. On the ground floor you have living and dining room as well as a kitchen with all amenities. The first floor is reserved for the 2 bedrooms (1 master and 1 bedroom with 2 singles or 1 double) and the bathroom with shower.
Outdoor you will find a hugh garden with barbecue, sun chairs and garden furniture. Your children can play on the playground with trampoline, swing, sandpit or go feeding the donkeys and stroke the dog.
A satellite color TV with international channels, Wi-Fi, a bluetooth Bose Speaker and a secured parking lot in front of the house are of course standard equipment.

The beds are already prepared upon arrival, the towels are provided.

If you bring your bicycles, you can safely store them in our lockable shed.

The landlords live in the immediate vicinity and are happy to help and advice, if you wish. You enjoy a private driveway to the house.

Families and couples alike feel comfortable with us.

We really enjoyed our stay…the house had everything we could want and was very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect so near to the centre of town but completely secluded and quiet. Petra was very helpful.

Le gîte du domaine de Joreau est un petit paradis situé dans un vallon en bordure de forêt.Nous sommes tombés sous son charme dès notre arrivée. Nous avons été accueillis une première fois pas ces deux gardiens, Tarco et Caribou, deux ânes tout doux qui adorent croqués les carottes, nous confirmons.La beauté de ce lieu, sa sérénité et son calme, juste ponctués par la conversation des écureuils et leur haute voltige dans les peupliers, le hululement de la chouette hulotte et de la chevêche et de bien d’autres oiseaux nous ont ravi.C’est aussi le passage prisé des biches dans la prairie bordant la maison, quelle magnifique surprise de les voir si proche, petits êtres graciles, les anges de la forêt…Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié notre logis, fonctionnel, spacieux, agréable et confortable, rien ne manque.Ce petit écrin qu’il faut absolument découvrir ne serait pas ce qu’il est sans l’admirable travail de nos hôtes, leur gentillesse, leur sourire et leur disponibilité nous ont conquis.Un grand merci à vous pour se séjour inoubliable au domaine de Joreau.MiMi et Alain

Leuk huisje in stille omgeving

Het huisje was op zich o.k.en de ligging in het prachtige "park" was prima. De inrichting was aan de sobere kant en de tuinmeubelen waren erg oud en een stoel defect.De verstrekte onderhoudsmiddelen waren erg mager.In alle eerder gehuurde Vrbo huizen was dat veel ruimer.Amper kruiden specerijen en geen the en handdoeken. Hadden zelf gelukkig back up meegenomen.Trap naar boven niet gemakkelijk. Badkamer netjes en ruim. Prijs kwaliteit relatie niet goed. Needs a good update !!!

Bonjour Jelle, merci d'avoir pris le temps de rédiger cet avis, même si celui-ci me surprend. Nous prenons beaucoup de soin de cet ancien poulailler de la ferme de Joreau : La cuisine a été récemment remplacée (2023), la salle de bains refaite (2022) et le séjour aménagé (2020). La terrasse en bois à l'extérieur a été aménagé pour vous apporter plus de confort en 2022. Mais nous ne souhaitons pas changer son authenticité avec les petites fenêtres et son sol en terre cuite ancienne. Certes, cela peut paraître sombre, mais aussi une belle protection contre la chaleur. Je vous remercie de m'apprendre qu'une des chaises longue est défectueuse. Il aurait été plus simple de nous le dire directement pendant votre séjour afin de vous apporter une solution. Les meubles du jardin en bois et rotin sont régulièrement entretenus. Concernant le linge de maison que j'avais tout simplement oublié et que j'aurais pu vous procurer en moins de 2 minutes. Dommage que "se parler" devient si difficile.

Merci beaucoup Gabriel pour votre avis. Un séjour en novembre n'est jamais évident, mais vous avez pu profiter d'une belle semaine ensoleillée avec de belles balades et des soirs devant le feu de cheminée. Il faudrait revenir au printemps pour admirer les fleurs et en particulier les roses.

Gîte confortable avec excellente situation

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans ce gîte parfaitement équipé et au calme. La propriétaire est prévenante et sympathique. Excellente base pour découvrir les châteaux de la Loire (environ une dizaine de châteaux ouverts dans un rayon de 40 kms), l'abbaye de Fontevraud voire une escapade au Puy du fou (à une centaine de kms). A recommander aussi bien en été qu'en octobre, période de notre séjour.

Nous essayons de prendre contact avec chaque hôtes avant son arrivée afin de préparer le séjour au mieux. Les sites de visites sont tous ouverts de février jusqu'à fin octobre, parfois au-delà. Pour les amoureux des balades en forêt ou du vélo, les balades commencent devant la porte d'entrée.

Es freut mich, wenn Ihnen meine Tipps gefallen haben. Sie haben ein abwechslungsreiches Programm durchgezogen : Fahrradtouren, Märkte, Schlösser, Höhlen (sehr angenehm bei 38°C Aussentemperatur) und Stadtbesichtigungen. Zauberhafte Idylle im lieblichen Anjou

Ich habe die 4 Tage in diesem wunderbar renovierten ehemaligen (Luxus-)Hühnerstall - gelegen in einem lieblichen stillen Tal direkt am Waldrand - mit Blick auf einen riesigen alten Mammutbaum und vor abendlichem Kaminfeuer sehr genossen. Die Einrichtung ist ein gelungener Mix aus sachlich-modern und alten Stücken mit schöner Patina, die Betten sind top, die Küche ist mit allem Nötigen bestens ausgestattet, nur ein paar scharfe Messer sollte man selbst mitbringen. Die herzliche Familie Schewe kümmert sich um jeden Wunsch umgehend und verwöhnt die Gäste mit ihrer Offenheit, Wärme, einem kräftigen Frühstück und hervorragendem Wein und sicher vielen Tips für Ausflüge ins reiche historische und kulinarische Erbe der Region. Kater, Hund und die beiden Esel habe ich übrigens auch sehr lieb gewonnen! Ließe meine Zeit es zu, ich wäre Dauergast ... Henrik aus Berlin

Très confort et calme

Nous avons passés quelques jours aux vacances de fin février . Le logement était impeccable avec une cheminée avec du bois fourni à volonté. Le cadre est très arboré avec un jardin ouvert sur un parc privatif. Un accueil sympathique avec une bouteille de vin De Loire. Nous y retournerons certainement et vous recommandons pour des vacances en famille.

Great location for cycling along the Loire both ways. plenty of wood for afire, which was nice. Wife and bluetooth for the radio was great. Host was helpful but not intrusive. Is 1 mile or 1.6 km to village for morning croissants so need to drive there or cycle. Local bar on the edge of the village shuts at 8pm but staff re very welcoming and helpful. We used it alot.

Erholung pur und absolute Ruhe

In Wirklichkeit war das Haus inmitten des riesigen gepflegten Gartens besser als die Beschreibung. Perfekt mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Wunderschöne frische Blumen und eine köstliche Flasche Wein standen zur Begrüßung bereit. Und dann diese absolute Ruhe, das ist Erholung pur. Die täglich frischen Croissants besorgt man sich im nahe gelegenen gut sortierten Supermarkt. Schnell ist man auch mit den Fahrrädern auf dem Loire-Radweg, der direkt am Grundstück vorbeiführt. Natürlich darf auch die tolle Gastgeberin Petra nicht unerwähnt bleiben, die sich mit Herz und Seele um ihre Gäste kümmert, Tipps für Ausflüge und die Freizeitgestaltung bereit hält und ein vorzügliches Abendessen serviert.

Charmantes Landhaus in grüner Oase

Stefanie Als wir nach langer Autofahrt in die üppig grüne Allee zum Haus einbogen und die beiden Esel gemütlich grasend am Wegesrand standen, waren wir sofort begeistert. Das Ferienhaus ist noch viel schöner gelegen, als es die Beschreibung ahnen lässt. Unmittelbar am Ortsrand, nur wenige Minuten vom gut sortierten Supermarkt entfernt, liegt in einem Tal der Ruhe dieses kleine Paradies. Wir wurden herzlich von Petra Schewe begrüßt. Die Vermieterin ist als Gastgeberin ganz in ihrem Element und zudem professionell, denn trotz räumlicher Nähe war die nötige Distanz immer gewahrt. Nette Gesten, z. B. in Form eines kleinen Erntekorbes aus dem eigenen Garten und selbstgemachte Konfitüre, überraschten uns nach einem Ausflug. Das steinerne Ferienhaus ist eine wahre Oase am Waldrand, wo sich auch abends gerne die Rehe zeigen und die Stille mit uns teilten. Im großzügigen Garten gibt es immer ein schattiges oder eben auch ein sonniges Plätzchen. Das Haus bietet genug Komfort, den man für den Urlaub benötigt. Dieser Teil des ehemaligen Gutshofs war ein früherer Stall und wurde charmant und stilecht umgebaut und eingerichtet. Die Töpfe stehen z. B. in der Küche im alten Hühnerstall, ein massiver Holztisch lässt (wenn man nicht draußen isst) viel Platz für hervorragenden Crémant und viele regionale Köstlichkeiten ... und gesellige Stunden. Wegen der Wendeltreppe ist das Haus nicht für Menschen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität zu empfehlen. Ein Schlafzimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer (zum Bad und zum zweiten Schlafzimmer). Generell ist das nicht störend, aber vielleicht für manche Planung hilfreich. Wir haben viele Radtouren vom Haus aus gestartet und die Schönheit der Natur - auch die der imposanten Loire - genossen. Auch zu Fuß kann man vieles unternehmen: durch den Ort spazieren, am Flussbett der Loire entlang wandern, einen schönen Park in der Nähe erkunden ... Wer sich bewegen will, kann dies dort mit Freude tun! Wir haben auch schöne Ausflüge mit dem Auto unternommen: Saumur, Angers, die Montgolfiade in Brissac, die Ölmühle in Neuillé ... und sind immer wieder gerne zu „unserem Haus“ zurückgekehrt und haben den Tag gemütlich bei Kerzenschein im Garten ausklingen lassen. Als Verbesserungsvorschlag hätten wir, im Wohnbereich Lampen zu installieren, die gutes Licht zum Lesen bieten. Danke, liebe Familie Schewe! Lovely cottage in beautiful quiet surroundings

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cottage at Domaine de Joreau. Petra made us very welcome and we found the cottage comfortable and well equipped. We particularly liked the location being near to the cycle route along the Loire, which made it easy for us to use our bikes rather than the car. The Children loved the Donkeys, Tarku and Caribou. We were delighted to see deer in the garden and loved watching a pair of Golden Oriole in the top of the large fig tree. Places we visited: We cycled to the lovely town of Saumur and visited the Chateau. We cycled to Angers which is well worth a visit, and took the train back to Les Loisiers, quite an adventure. The Zoo at Doue la Fontaine is fabulous, we loved feeding the giraffes. The Chateau at Breze was very interesting and the children loved the underground passages! We also visited Fontevraud Abbey which has an excellent IPad tour for children. All in all a fabulous week and we can't wait to return another year to explore more of this beautiful area.

Peaceful, private and relaxing.

A great location for exploring the area with easy access to cycle paths along the river. Excellent bike hire is available in the village. The house is within easy reach of Saumur in one direction and Anger in the other. There is a quiet and private garden for relaxing and sampling the local wines after a day of sight seeing. The house is very comfortable and provides all the amenities for an enjoyable holiday. Petra and her son were wonderfully welcoming and helpful, from providing information about the area to freshly picked vegetables from the garden. A memorable part of our holiday in France.
