This was an absolute dream of a cabin. It was cozy and quaint- exactly what was needed for a relaxing weekend. The hot tub was nice and clean and well maintained. The cabin was lovely and the kitchen was nice and had everything we needed for the weekend. Definitely a place we will visit again
This cabin is cozy. I am a professional cleaner and this place was really clean. A few high cobwebs I would've taken care of but I dont know if there is a high duster or where the broom is located. My husband and I stayed the weekend and celebrated our wedding anniversary. Very cozy, very much relaxing.
This comfortable house has old school charm and is conveniently located. We hiked Ebey's Landing, visited Meerkerk Rhodendron Gardens, Coupeville and Price Sculpture Forest, and got same-day Penn Cove mussels from the grocery store in Freeland-all a short drive away. We made use of the hot tub and enjoyed the view of ships passing by. The kitchen is well stocked. Mark, our host, was easy to communicate with and very friendly and helpful.
Cody, cute, cabin with outstanding views and fabulous hot tub!Host had great communication and recompense good hikes and responded immediately to any questions. We will be back!
We had such a wonderful stay! The house is very homey and comfortable, the hot tub and grill were the perfect amenities, and Mark was a helpful communicator. I totally recommend and look forward to another visit!
The house was fantastic and the view was breathtaking. Our hosts were excellent. They were very open and communicative and the entire stay couldn't have been better.
We love to cook and the kitchen was well equipped, stove was easy to work with. Eating inside or on the deck: both lovely views. The bird feeder and its visitors were an unexpected joy. We had both just downloaded the Merlin app so we were able to id birds and their songs. The hot tub in the evening, moon behind the trees, perfect temperature. Next time we’re bringing our robes to wear. A restorative and relaxing time!
The entire property and house were wonderful for a weekend getaway. The hosts were communicative and supportive, and the house had everything we needed. We will stay again soon, we hope!
We planned a getaway very last minute but Mark was so great to work with. The cabin is in the perfect location with an amazing view. I could sit and watch the birds all day! We will definitely be back.
The host was wonderful but there might be a case of bedbugs on the couch or second bedroom. Only I got the bites and I slept out on the couch for a while to watch the fireplace.

So sorry that you were bitten by something. Immediately, after you checked out, we had a professional pest control company come in and inspect the entire cabin. They found no signs or evidence of bedbugs, insects, or any other type of vermin.
Not sure where you picked up your bite. Once again, sorry that it happened to you.
The home was immaculate. Cute and a beautiful view of the sound. I would venture a guess that there were around 20 or 30 birds diving in over and over at that bird feeder. The hot tub was in perfect order. It was a wonderful experince that i recommend to anyone staying on this fantasy island!
It was lovely! We ended up having such good weather. We were able to watch the shipping traffic, and bird watching. The hot tub was amazing and well taken care of and everything had a comfortable cabin feel.
love sitting in the hot tub in the cooler weather and in the dark with just the hot tub light on. nice clean place. great hosts

About the host
Hosted by Mark and Colleen
My wife, Colleen, and I met on Whidbey Island many years ago. We have lived in different parts of the country over the years, but always called Whidbey, home.
We live a few miles from The Hideaway, but will never 'bother' you while your are enjoying your stay. If you need something, anything, we are just a phone call away!
Why they chose this property
The South West side of Whidbey Island is very charming, beautiful, rural, and not that far from Seattle. There is a strong community presence and quite a strong artistic pulse, which we thoroughly enjoy. We chose our location 'up' from the water, because being right on the water can be windy and cold, even in the summer! We also enjoy the privacy, and that's hard to find living on the waterfront. Too many other houses!
What makes this property unique
We have a very loyal and large base of people who have used our place over the past 20 years. They tell us it's like a second home to them. We have tried to make all our guests feel that way. Because it is on an acre of land it also offers an abundance of privacy, vegatation and wildlife (Deer, eagles, pheasant, rabbits, etc) along with a great water and mountain view. Our birdfeeders bring in all kinds of interesting birds.
