Whidbey House 3 BR 2 BA Porch & Patio: Walk to Golf & Beach Sleeps 6-7
The Whidbey House is a luxurious 1,800 SF, three-bedroom, two-bath handicap-accessible vacation home. Located in Freeland’s upscale Holmes Harbor neighborhood, it is close to the golf course, trails, and beach. Nestled against a large, forested tract, the Whidbey House feels like a quiet oasis. The backyard offers some of the best birding in Washington, and deer visit several times daily.
Whidbey House was built in a modern but comfortable Northwest bungalow style. The house is dominated by a luxurious great room that includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counters, breakfast bar, and stainless appliances. High ceilings and big windows in all the rooms give the house a spacious feel.
Accommodations include three bedrooms and two baths. The five beds include a king in the luxury master suite and a queen in a second bedroom. The third bedroom has two twin bunkbeds and a twin sleeper chair. A Pack and Play portable crib is also provided. The king bed has a new, luxury Saatva mattress. The queen bed has a new pillowtop mattress.

The house is handicap-accessible with no steps for entry, wide doorways, and a walk-in shower. Adjacent to the house is a modest fenced area with a patio, outdoor table, gas grill, and gas firepit. In addition, a covered front porch on the first floor offers a great place to relax and watch the world go by. The house has a high efficiency heat pump system for air conditioning and heating. A two-car garage behind the Whidbey House is entered from a private driveway. There is plenty of parking for six cars or for a 40-foot RV. There is a 30-amp electrical hookup, making the Whidbey House a great destination for RV or van owners.

About the host
Hosted by Anne and Rick Penny

Anne and I live in Everett, Washington, just a ferry ride away from the Whidbey House. I am a semi-retired college professor and Anne works for Edmonds College in student services. In our spare time we enjoy travel, camping, walking, and all types of paddle sports.
Why they chose this property
We chose the Whidbey House as our vacation home because it offers access to all the wonderful things that Whidbey Island has to offer. The location itself is private and tranquil, visited daily by deer and bunnies. But we can walk or bike to beaches, golf, wineries, and breweries. And we love visiting the quaint communities of Langley, Coupeville, and Anacortes to shop or dine out! Day outings by ferry to Port Townsend are also a favorite -- we walk on and walk off! And when we have guests staying at our house, we travel in our camper van, often staying at Deception Pass, Fort Casey, Fort Ebey, Fort Worden, or Fort Flagler.
What makes this property unique
We have been very sucessful in creating outdoor surroundings and interior decor that reflect the peaceful island vibe of Whidbey!
