You are minutes away from golf, shopping, wine tasting or minutes from some beautiful hiking or biking trails in the Sierra Foothills.

As our guest, enjoy our 20-acre ranch in your private loft bungalow with self-check in and free parking. The loft has a unique alpaca motif. When you stay at Colusa Riverside Alpaca Ranch you can enjoy its peaceful serenity, but also the soul quieting nature of their alpacas.

We provide bath amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The bungalow sleeps 3 with a king bed and futon for your children. Complimentary snacks are provided along with some breakfast foods. We try to accommodate guest early check in whenever possible. Extra bath towels are always available.

After Check in, go wine tasting along the Placer Wine Trail. Come hike the trails or ride your horse in Hidden Falls Regional Park or the famous Western States Trail. Our ranch is minutes away from all the recreation areas that Placer County offers. Maybe you just want to enjoy a weekend of R & R amongst our alpacas. Wonderful Stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property and my daughter loved seeing the Alpacas. The loft was comfortable and had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!

Angela and family were great guests, hardly knew they were here. I only wish we could have provided an up close and personal for her daughter with the alpacas. We would love to have them back to do that in the future.

Our stay at this beautiful alpaca ranch was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely relaxed by the peaceful setting and stunning scenery of the Sierra foothills. The property itself was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved waking up to the quiet ranch atmosphere each morning. It was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was getting to feed the alpacas! Spending time with them was such a fun and unique experience, and it made the stay feel incredibly special and memorable. We also completely fell in love with the ranch dog Molly — she was so friendly, sweet, and welcoming, and honestly added so much charm to the whole experience. The location was fantastic as well — close enough to wineries while still feeling like a peaceful retreat away from everything. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The hosts were wonderful, communicative, and made the entire experience seamless from check-in to check-out. You can truly feel the care and thoughtfulness they put into both the property and the guest experience. This was easily one of the most memorable vacation rentals we’ve stayed in, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a little extra magic!

A Real Gem in the Country

We were visiting family in the area and this was the perfect place to stay. The room and setting are absolutely charming and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. It was such an idyllic spot to come home to every night. Sheila & Dave were delightfully friendly and gracious to share some time in the barn with us. The little extra touches they added to our stay made us feel so appreciated. We would absolutely love to stay with them again.

This place exceeded all of our expectations and some. This little slice of heaven on Sheila and Dave’s farm was a perfect way to spend a weekend away! The room was perfectly decorated, clean, spacious, and the hosts left complimentary snacks, wine, beverages, and a coloring book! Thoughtful touches all around. The room is a loft attached to the back side of the house but has a private entrance and is totally secluded and separated. The place is quiet and so peaceful and the alpacas deserve a 5 star review of their own! Not to mention the tadpoles and bullfrogs in the beautiful pond! Sheila and Dave spent a morning with us educating us on alpacas and let us feed, play, and walk the alpacas - lots of opportunities for fun photos! We even held a baby alpaca :) we were greeted each morning by their extremely friendly and loving dog Molly. We will certainly be back and cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you, Shelia and Dave for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home with us for the weekend!

Gordy and Pippin were such a pleasure to host. They loved the alpacas and I think the alpacas loved them. We offer discounts for repeat guest, so Gordy and Pippin are welcome back anytime, and we look forward to seeing them again when our babies are born this winter.

Sheila and Dave have been breeding and raising alpacas for 18 years. If you would like to know more about our Alpaca business just google our website at Colusa Riverside Alpacas. Sheila loves her horses and has been riding or hiking this area all her adult life. Dave is retired from a long and productive career in law enforcement. Sheila is a retired Professor of Nursing who continues to teach for local universities.

Why they chose this property

Once your settled into your bungalow, Sheila will provide you a complimentary up close and personal experience with the alpacas. The experience typically means going to the barn, being close with the alpacas, leading the alpacas and feeding them treats.

You can take lots of pictures with the many beautiful settings on the ranch, not to mention pictures with the alpacas. We recommend sunset as the best time for your photos. Because we are a photography venue there are multiple spots on the ranch that make for a wonderful backdrop for your personal photos.

We respect all our guest's privacy and encourage guests to walk the property to enjoy the animals.

What makes this property unique

We always try to accommodate our guests request for early check in whenever possible. We also try to have no added fees when it comes time to book your stay. We have to charge transient occupancy tax per Placer County, and our cleaning fee is reasonable.

The ranch is within 15 minutes of Hidden Falls Regional Park an amazing riding, biking, running and hiking park with easily 20 miles of trails. We are minutes from the Western States (Tevis) Trail and minutes away from the Folsom Lake Trails. Sheila has ridden every mile of these trails and is a great resource if you need information. .

We also offer professional photography with area photographers if requested prior to your stay. Customers should contact Sheila if interested in a professional photo shoot well in advance of their stay.

Further we offer horse boarding for our rider guests for a separate fee.

We do not provide horseback riding experiences.
