Our 1926 cottage is a secret Zen retreat! It is nestled in the hills below Topanga and surrounded by sounds of nature & lovely views. Every guest seems to find a spot to fall in love with! Retreat offers a spacious cafe style lit deck with amazing views, succulent garden, gorgeous deck off main suite w/ vast views, a calming study to read in & a tranquil meditation style loft. The newly renovated kitchen creates an amazing culinary experience. Steps away from hiking trails & minutes from PCH.

Natural light filled rooms inspire our guests to open the windows, turn on music and be in the moment. Fabulous windows throughout the cottage create such a perfect energy.

Three bedrooms all with a Zen vibe, a peaceful study & office space, cozy living room and chefs kitchen are what make up your unique stay at the cottage. It is a space of respite, calm, reset and sweet reminders of being in the moment.

Make yourself a morning coffee at the cafe bar, enjoy the sounds of birds chirping on the deck and head out to start your day off right. Whether its hiking, biking, going to the beach, shopping, eating some of the best food, or relaxing... it is all just minutes from the treehouse.

Our little cottage is the recipe for a perfect start to the day. The treehouse is centrally located to amazing restaurants, boutique shopping, endless hiking trails and beaches.

Upon your return to the treehouse, the decks are the perfect place to enjoy golden hour with your loved ones. Sip on a glass of wine, under the cafe lights, as the breeze fills the air and good conversation fills your soul. Evenings under the stars become the most memorable ones.

Just wow.

This is our second stay at the Zen Treehouse. I actually don't want to write this review, because I want to book this spot for every time I visit L.A.. AJ has thought of literally everything to make the stay easy and relaxing--- including the kitchen being fully stocked. What else can I say... the furniture is plush, the outdoor spots are bathed in sun, with birds chirping, and beautiful views. She was warm and responsive when I called with questions. Relax and enjoy!

Tranquil LA spot

At the end of a Californian road trip this was a perfect base for a few LA days before heading home. The house is very peaceful and immaculate, in a lovely neighbourhood.

This space was truly beautiful. Absolutely dreamy. I wasn't to be in the hills but was still a plus. The view was stunning and i would wake up every morning just to watch yhe sunrise. I was not ready to check out.

AJs home ( tree house) is a slice of heaven, everything you want in her home is there. From the comfy beds to the outside patio heater the succulent garden is amazing. When in LA we will stay here again

Perfect California Hide-Away

We stayed here for 5 nights on a mother-daughter trip to LA and absolutely loved it. Beautifully decorated, just as pictures show. Multiple outdoor sitting spaces to enjoy the California weather with a book or with a glass of wine and conversation. AJ was super responsive and very welcoming. Zero complaints - would absolutely stay here on next trip to LA.

Absolutely stunning!

This is a designers dream- think designer Amber Lewis and you will get the feel. Roomy and cozy, everything is high end and located in one of Woodland Hills most desirable neighborhoods. Don’t look any further - you will not be disappointed and AJ is great!

Truly Zen Experience

The TreeHouse and views are amazing. We were in town for a wedding and the location was very convenient to shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The house is so peaceful, comfy, beautiful and super clean. AJ and Jorge were very sweet, responsive and helpful. Loved all of the interior and outdoor areas to hang out and chillax! The gourmet kitchen was stocked with everything we needed which made cooking in really easy and fun. All around great experience. We will be back!

Truly Exceptional

We have had the good fortune of staying in fabulous rental properties but this one was next level. Surrounded by trees with multiple outdoor seating areas. The decor is like a Weat Elm showroom. I was discovering thoughtful touches throughout our 5 day stay. We were so happy to have a couple rainy days so we could just stay inside and enjoy this exquisite house without feeling guilty about missing the infinite options of fun around us. AJ is the perfect host- super responsive, helpful and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your slice of nirvana with us! Can’t wait until next time!’

Where is Architectural Digest when you need them?!

This retreat home is a hidden gem in Woodland Hills. As described by previous visitors, everything is immaculately decorated from the moment you step foot on the property. AJ was prompt in her communication from the moment I inquired about the property and left no stone unturned when it came to showcasing the beauty of this charming home and providing for her guests. The natural light, especially in the mornings, is outstanding. The kitchen and living room deserves to have a spot on the pages of Architectural Digest, and the bathrooms come equipped with a top of the line bidet, fantastic water pressure, toiletries, and feminine hygiene items for the lady identified guests. Of all the homes I have stayed in over the years theirs is the first home to go above and beyond in that area. The mediation space at the top of the house was absolutely adorable and the twinkly lights on the patio lit the home beautifully in the evening. I was pleasantly surprised with a goody bag of curated treats and gifts provided for me and my family, including a bag of doggy treats for my small pooch I brought with me, which was unexpected and very thoughtful. We ran into an issue with the Nest AC that stopped working on a Sunday morning, I reached out to our point of contact, Jorge, and within the hour AJ and her partner were at the door with their warm and bubbly personalities to check in on us and immediately began troubleshooting steps to get the AC working. They promptly had a kind maintenance worker, Marco, come out and work on the AC unit and he had it back up and running by the end of the day. I definitely recommend this property for future renters, you won’t be disappointed! Unless you count having to leave at the end of your stay, that’s the only disappointment we experienced! I hope to return in the future! Thank you for sharing your home, AJ!

We had an AMAZING stay!! The home was spotless and felt so intentionally decorated. It was very apparent that AJ cares about the home and the guests that stay in it. The kitchen was fully loaded with cookware that can actually be used. We had a hard time convincing ourselves to leave the house because of how comfortable and beautiful it was!

My only disappointment was the location in the listing wasn’t where the map showed it and it was in a completely different neighborhood making my walk to my sons home more of a car ride that had to be managed, but other than that- fabulous experience.

First off, host communication was incredible. Never seen such rapid response. Highest rated host ever!House was cute and is definitely like a treehouse. However, that does come with some issues. This is not a home for anyone with mobility issues or senior dog. The steps down to carport are lil' sketchy at night and lights are not working. It's a funky old home and there is some obvious deferred maintenance needed, but that's a constant w/any old home. Ceiling fans would be much appreciated here. Carport parking was interesting w/a full size pick-up and would have been tough w/a 2nd vehicle. Neighborhood streets are not full-size truck friendly, but doable if you have some skill. Really had fun on the deck! My dog enjoyed watching squirrels run around in the pines. Deck is not fully enclosed (or property) and that was a shame. Everything worked great inside the home (except master shower head is leaking FYI). Lots of great flop areas in the living room and the couch was crazy comfortable! TV gets tons of channels and worked fine. Turned a/c on around 1am because it became hot upstairs w/o ceiling fan. For me by staying only one night, I think it would have been easier (and cheaper) to do a hotel. This home really deserves longer stays and being filled w/friends to really use it's potential. Would be a great couples get away or small gathering of friends. Definitely not a party house because sound travels in the canyon. Overall, a good stay and new location experience .

Such a beautiful space! My spouse, two kids and I loved our stay at the treehouse. The house feels quiet and serene, but is super close to all the Woodland Hills amenities and Topanga Canyon. The kids loved hanging out in the loft space! Highlights include the full stocked kitchen, gas grill, beautiful views and the upstairs Toto toilet! We would love to stay here again.

Pre wedding home base for son’s wedding

The inside was immaculate and had a very spa like vibe. Aptly named Zen treehouse it was a really cozy and quiet environment. Outdoor space was also wonderful with several areas to sit and chill enjoy the views. Instructions for check in were clear, kitchen very well appointed great to have gas grill as well. Great to have the carport as well

A world away

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Zen treehouse, and it was truly a magical experience. The lovely and natural surroundings immediately caught our attention upon arrival, and the impeccable design of the house created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. What made this vbro truly special was our host, Aj. She was the perfect host, going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. She even surprised us with a Christmas tree, which added to the overall warmth and coziness of the house. It was a delightful and unexpected touch that made our stay even more memorable. The location was also ideal, as we were close to all the amenities we needed, including great restaurants and shopping. But when we sat and looked out at the trees, we felt like we were a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Charm and Relaxation

This August, my family stayed for about a week at AJ's Zen Treehouse Retreat. It was ridiculously charming and full of small touches that made it easy to enjoy ourselves. Stocked with every kitchen gadget you can imagine, a sweet gift bag, and a gorgeous deck, we spent time reading, taking in the views, and exploring the area. Highly recommended.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I am an Angelino through and through. I strongly believe in surrounding myself with beautiful spaces and creating special memories with my family and friends. Whether it is traveling the world, skiing 70-100 days a year, exercising often, raising my 2 daughters...I do my very best to make each day count.

I get such joy from hosting people at my property. I love connecting with guests from all around the world. I take such pride in providing a memorable experience to all who walk through the door of this special retreat.
