The actual houseboat we rented was out for service so we were upgraded. The boat was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful with pointing out restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
We like to adventure travel, and I thought this would be a fun alternative to a hotel. It absolutely was! Everyone was great. The food around town was great. The people are great. The management/staff were great. We're already planning a trip back with friends, but this time in a bigger houseboat.Don't think. Just go!
This is our first houseboat stay. We loved the concept of trying some place new. The online description was 100% accurate. Parking was easy, we were there off season. We enjoyed the Adirondack chairs and the view. The bed was comfy and their were plenty of towels for the hot showers!

I was booked for a smaller houseboat but it has some pungent smell and I was quickly shifted to a new bigger houseboat. Mike was very helpful

Hi,
Thanks for the review. As you mentioned, I was not happy with the odor, due to the pump-out issue and was able to move you to a larger, more expensive houseboat, at no additional cost to you.
Thanks for staying with us.
Mike
My husband and I were looking for a fun way to experience the Keys and staying on a houseboat was a 1st for us. Mike is an excellent host, very accommodating and made our visit memorable and enjoyable. We most enjoyed taking in the sunsets and did a bit of paddleboarding in the mangroves. They have a great pool on the property and the marina is well maintained.

We found the houseboat to be a fun and unique experience. It was a basic accommodation - which we expected - but we did not expect a fuse to blow while we were gone for the day, ultimately spoiling the food we had in the refrigerator. When we called the After-hours Emergency number (it was 8:30pm when we returned), we left a message but NEVER received a return phone call. Luckily we're resourceful enough to figure out the fuse box and get it going again. Disappointed that we did not receive any kind of follow up.

Hi Kathleen,
When I hear from the office, I went to the houseboat to check out the situation (it must have been the heater unit which draws too much current, as we discussed). Sorry that you had experience that issue, as we don't often have cold weather so we don't experience this very often. Since the electric was working fine when I check the houseboat, I assumed that you reset the breaker.
I'd be willing to offer you a credit towards your next stay with us, to compensate you for any items that were spoiled due to the electric being off while you were enjoying the Keys.
I apologize for not getting back to you yesterday, as I'm off on Monday/Tuesday.
THX,
Mike
This was my first "floating house" experience and I'm so excited to go back and bring my kids. The marina is beautiful, small, quiet, and all the patrons were so nice. There was a calm family vibe, especially at night with kids in the pool and patrons at the bar. I loved seeing the sunset and sunrise on the little patio area on my house.
I was not prepared for having my own shower (this was a great thing!) so I gave the written description 4 stars only to point out that it is a little confusing. The hot water was wonderful. The electric outlets in the unit were a little iffy-- everything worked fine the first night but then no fans would work (but chargers did). Super first world problem that did not really affect my experience. I completely recommend this style of get away if you need moments of freedom and solitude like I did. I came back to the northeast feeling very restored!

We loved every moment of our stay on the houseboat. The Adirondack chairs on the back deck were our favorite spot for watching the sunset or just relaxing. The property was beautiful and close to other activities. We wish we would have known that the tiki bar was closed because it was off-season. Overall, we had an incredible stay and can’t wait to do it again.
Went to the keys for a weekend. Was looking for a fun place to stay at night while we explored the keys during the day. The house boat was perfect.

Cute boat house
Accurate website description. There was a little mixup on double booking for the first night, and the parking is too limited when the bar is open. I had to get up early to move my car from the previous night.. The place was clean though and the bed comfortable, and the management pleasant. The view was very nice.

Hi,
Thanks for your review. I appreciate your time and effort.
Just for clarification, where you parked your car was not a parking space, it was blocking our forklift from accessing the 'pit' where we splash boats.
THX,
Mike
The houseboat is cute and VERY cozy, the pictures do a good job accurately showing the boat. My husband is tall (6'6") and this boat was not very accommodating to tall people. He managed fine, just hit his head on everything, we just know next time to go bigger :). He was also disappointed that you could not fish on, or around the boat/marina, although understanding of the rules, just would have been a nice to know in advance (so FYI). I knocked my rating down a little because the toilet on the boat needs to be fixed/sealed, it leaked a very foul odor into the living area, it was almost unbearable at times. The office staff were not overly friendly (excluding the houseboat manager, he was very friendly and accommodating), and the wifi was down for part of our stay. The bed was very comfortable though, which was a nice bonus. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, we love the area (Islamorada is our new favorite place in Florida), we loved the little tiki bar at the Marina, they even had live entertainment one night, and we got to see sharks and manatees swimming around the boat.
We stayed on a small houseboat. It was a great place to sleep for just the two of us. If you are more than a couple this probably is not the boat for you, but they do have larger, more luxurious ones to choose from. The people that work there are all friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The scenery is beautiful too. We are planning another stay here later this year with a group of friends.
Mangrove Marina is a great little spot for a getaway, good location. Nice houseboats and friendly people all around! Looking forward to coming back soon, Thank you Mangrove staff!
