You are “Dune Alright” if you are planning a trip to this newly renovated corner unit at the iconic Gulf Dunes resort on Okaloosa Island. Recently refreshed and re-painted in cool summer colors, this all-Gulf-front complex has served as the favorite beach destination for many vacationers over the years. With 2 pools, grills, an elevator and plenty of parking, it's no wonder Pinkie Flamingo was excited to add this guest nest to her list.

As she cruised down Santa Rosa Blvd, Pinkie almost missed her destination! The new color scheme of Gulf Dunes was quite a departure from the way it had been and a decidedly nice improvement. Parking in the covered, numbered space designated for Unit #201, Pinkie was pleased to note that the open lot out front could hold lots of extra vehicles. With a unit that slept 10, it seemed likely that most guests might come in 2 cars.

Pinkie chose to walk up the steps instead of taking the elevator…those shrimp & pasta dinners were catching up with her! She easily found the corner unit and was delighted with what she found inside…new flooring, decor and fresh paint welcomed her. Being on the end gave the space a more private feel and Pinkie was drawn to the balcony. The sweeping views of the pools, white sandy beaches and the sparkling emerald waters beyond were mesmerizing. Many of her guests requested full Gulf-front and she knew this condo would be perfect for them.

Pinkie was pleased with the sleeping arrangements…King in the master, Queen in the first guest bedroom and 2 Full beds in another guest bedroom plus a sleeper sofa. The added plus of 3 full bathrooms made it “right alright”!

Close to shopping at The Pier and several local dining spots, the location could not be better. In fact, many were within walking distance! Okaloosa Island allows no building over 6 stories so beaches are less crowded.

Drive 10 minutes to Destin, voted 'Best Beach Town' by Southern Living Magazine readers! Fans of deep- sea fishing refer to Destin as simply the 'World's Luckiest Fishing Village'. Golf Digest lists Destin in its 'Top Ten Best Golf Towns in America'. Explore the Emerald Coast from this convenient location.

The condo was nice with a great balcony and the location was even better. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and even the liquor store. We thought we were short on towels, but realized there was a load of towels and sheets in the drying the housekeeping crew forgot to take out. I think the condo could use a fresh coat of paint.

It’s an older condo, but they’ve kept it clean and looks remodeled. It’s right on the beach with great views. I like this kind of also because it’s on the second floor so you don’t have to take the elevator

Unit needed a deep cleaning. Spoke with management and they responded quickly. They offered to send some ASAP I informed them that we were fine just recommend that the cleaning crew do a better job for the next guest. Great location Stewby's is across the street and is a must for seafood.

Everything was good except the weather. Really windy so couldn’t get on the beach as much as we would have liked, but there were other things to do and a lot of restaurants that were close by. Property was convenient to the zoo, grocery store, and everything we needed.

Senior Spring Break

I don’t know where to start. We’ve NEVER have had an experience like this before renting from VBRO. We got the condo on Saturday March 22, 2025. We took our belongings to the room and then went to Target to get groceries. When we got back we found 28 roaches in the room. Some were alive and some were dead. I talked to Pinkie and she refunded us everything, but 217.56, which she still owes us as of 4/13/25. We could not stay in this unit. She said we just recently sprayed for roaches. So she knew her condo was infested with roaches and not ready for guests and she still put It on the market for rent. I’m out over 250 for food we brought from home. I have text and pictures of everything.

Pretty view, beautiful beach

This is our first time in Ft Walton. The area is very difficult to navigate due to traffic congestion. The condo is pretty with fairly new appliances all of which were clean. There are plenty of dishes/utensils/pots and pans which were clean. The afternoon we arrived, we noticed lots of dust/dirt build up on all of the baseboards and on all the louvered doors; Also dirty build up around door handles, door jams, and light switches. All of the main surfaces were clean like the dining table, stove, top, and counter tops. It was as if maybe the unit had been closed up for a long time over the winter and just needed a good deep clean. I also recognize that it’s hard to get cleaning people who are thorough and notice such things. The beds all have spring mattresses. The King mattress needs to be turned or replaced as there is a hill in the middle with indentations on either side. The sliding door in the living area doesn’t slide. We ended up just traipsing through the master bedroom where there is another sliding door to the balcony. Having beach service was a nice touch! The pool is nice too.

The location is great and the condo was good with the one exception. It needs new furniture in the living area badly. A sectional with recliners would fit perfectly. A new rug would be great too.
The couch is old and very uncomfortable. Rug was old and stained.
Beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets and additional pillows.
The kitchen was well stocked. All appliances are newer and in great working condition.
The view was amazing.

Beautiful condo and location

Me and my husband, my brother his wife and 2 kids stayed. The condo was in a easy location to get in and out of. Restaurants in walking distance. Condo was super clean and spacious. Private beach and pool with set up chairs and umbrella. Very nice beach walk to the pier close by. Everything went smooth with Pinkie rentals. Top notch. Nice beach view
