It was a good easy stay. The stove wouldn’t light and the ceiling in the dining room was leaking. Other then that it was a good stay

Great spot, subpar communication
The house was exactly what we wanted - ample space for a group to sleep, hang and dine together, easy street parking, walking distance from bars and restaurants and close enough to downtown to walk, too!
The property management company is minimally responsive, often loses messages between its automated gobbledygook and tried to blame us for their omissions in communication, multiple times.

Needs TLC, worst street in a decent neighborhood
When we arrived there was a stall loaf of bread, half a bell pepper and a half eaten pan of ziti with a spatula in the kitchen. Half eaten bag of chips and some clothing in the drawer in the bedroom. The other reviewers were not exaggerating, the AC flow to the upstairs bedrooms is not great, glad i wasn't visiting in July. We had an issue with our rental car and asked if we could get an early check in just to drop our bags off, the chat bot said it would check and never got back to us, but then kept sending me odd tid bits like "be careful not to slip with the clawfoot tub," maybe the management company should rethink the chatbot use. The soap and shampoo was nice. Maybe my standards are too high, but I would sum it up by saying pay a few extra bucks and stay on the other side of bardstown rd. This place is probably great for a bunch of college kids looking for a weekend crash pad, but I would not recommend for a family.
The property is clean, and comfortable. The home has aged character, and that is exactly what we love. Located in the Highlands, we had walkable access to some of the best food in Louisville. Only negative, the owner/property manager was not responsive to our messages. That's no big deal, just hurts the feelings a little =). Next trip to Louisville, if available, we'll stay at this property again.
The property was in a great location. Walking distance to tons of bars and restaurants and a short drive (> 10 minutes) from all the attractions that we were interested in seeing. The parking on the street gets packed quickly on weekends but there was always a spot less than a block from the house.
We enjoyed the Kentucky State Fair and the zip lining in the Mega Cavern over the weekend, then worked from the home during the week. It was a little challenging to find a spot for both of us to work during the week as we are both on calls during the day and needed to be in separate rooms, but easily accommodates a single person working at the dining room table.
It was definitely more spacious than two adults with a dog required, but the extra room was nice. We cooked breakfast and lunch in the house most days and we found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook the groceries we bought.
Overall a most pleasant week!

Not quite as advertised
Host not helpful with contact problem. Problem with on street parking. Second floor bedrooms not properly cooled. Had to buy a fan to sleep.
Very pleasant stay, excellent location for drinks and food that is walkable. Only downside was a couple modern days things missing….dishwasher and shower size compatible for tall folks. As to be expected in an old house. Overall, great stay!

Communication was not great.
The property was in a great location. Walking distance to tons of bars and restaurants. The parking on the street gets packed quickly but there were more spots on the side street. The ceiling did start leaking while one of us were showering upstairs. The owner said it happened sometimes when the shower curtain isn’t fully closed. I think it could be a bigger issue since it is an older house. I would have liked better communication from the owner. We should have been told about the leak and the check out information was not provided until we were needing to leave.
Very clean, cute old home. Had everything we needed. Bed was super comfortable. Only complaint was that the lamps in family room did not work so we basically couldn't hang out there or we'd just be sitting in the dark, so that was disappointing to us as the nice couch/space was one of the reasons we picked the home. I'm sure it is an easy fix for the next person, however. Parking was tight at times, but we were able to walk to dinner since the location is great!
This is a beautiful home located close to many restaurants and bars. We stayed in the home for two nights while visiting the Christmas lights at the Mega Cavern, which was well worth the 4.5-hour drive from TN.
We walked and at breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company, which was delicious and a unique place to eat. We also walked to dinner later that evening. We went as a family and were not interested in the bar scene, but there are MANY located within walking distance.
Things to note for future visitors:
The house is located on a residential street, but it is street parking only, so if you arrive late as we did, you may not get parking directly in front of the home. We felt completely safe the entire weekend in the area and at the house, so I feel comfortable giving this location a very high rating.
Also, there is a fan located in the downstairs bedroom, but I suggest bringing a fan for those staying upstairs because people can be noisy coming back from the bars, and you can hear trains and even planes from the airport. The house has one TV located downstairs in the living room, but there are no TVs in the three bedrooms. There is however Wi-Fi for those wishing to use streaming services while staying.
The booking process and the checking-in and out process were easy. I think this house will have many visitors staying in the future. It is full of charm and decorated with many older pieces. The original hardwood floors also add to the cottage feel of the house.
Thanks for a great weekend getaway!
