My host was so incredibly nice to meet me at my very late arrival and showed me around. The casita was beautiful, quiet and a great place to read and enjoy the mountain views with local wildlife walking by.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frederika's tastefully decorated Casita. Its location in a semi-rural setting just a few minutes outside Saguaro East National Park was perfect for us. The Casita has a nice deck that overlooks the desert landscape and was a great space for stargazing and listening to and watching all the various birds. The Casita also shares the same outdoor landscaped garden space as the host owner. The Casita was just as described and we are already making plans to return again next year.
This private casita is large and well-equipped for a week (or more) stay. Frederika is a wonderful host. Very responsive and not intrusive. This location is not close to anything (except the Saguaro Corners restaurant and the entrance to the Saguaro Park - East), but that's what you're looking for -- a quiet, isolated, peaceful spot at the edge of the desert.
Frederica is a most welcoming host, so friendly, accessible and accommodating. The casita and setting is absolutely the best we have found. The casita is beautifully decorated and stocked with everything one could need, so cozy, the deck situated perfectly for bird watching, sunsets, and any desert critters that may pass by - we missed the javelina but did see (within just a few feet of the deck) and hear coyotes in the evenings. We will plan to see the javelina on our next visit, for we will surely return. Thank you, Frederica, for a perfectly relaxing and peaceful stay.
Mu husband and I spent 2 nights in the Dragonfly Casita which was very comfortable with fantastic mountain views! We even saw some of the local wildlife right from the back porch. Frederika, the host has really set-up a very welcoming environment with everything you could possible need including complimentary drinks. We will definitely be back! Thank you Frederika for a fantastic experience!
We had a great time at this property! The place is very comfortable and unique. The owner is accommodating, responsive and lovely to visit with. I highly recommend.
We are so glad to have found Dragonfly Casita in Tucson!! It was terrific! We needed a spot for my husband and I as we were in town for a friend's retirement party. For us it was perfectly located to both where the party was as well as where my husband needed to go for work while we were there. It is a lovely view of the mountains and wildlife would make it's appearance. We sat on the little back patio and had our coffee/tea a couple of mornings. Fredrika was an awesome host! She even left us a plate of cookies and there were some drinks in the fridge and ice in the freezer! Pots and pans, though not very many, were fine for what we needed and they were stainless steel which I greatly appreciated! She has done such a terrific job of making this place outstanding! We will definitely stay there again if we're going to be that way!! Thank you so much Frederika!!!
This is an excellent location for exploring the national park, it is literally only a couple minutes away from the park entrance! This place is very clean, everything seems almost brand new, and the property is very nice. Importantly for such a hot location as Tucson: the AC units are very powerful! The hosts lived on the property and are right there for your needs; Fredericka was right there to show the unit & she was quick to respond to emails and texts. This is a very quiet and peaceful location. There was a great variety of birds visiting the feeders outside the patio every morning. I had a great stay and would book this place in a minute if I come back to the area! It really is even nicer in person than in the photos!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dragonfly Casita! The casita was very nicely decorated and the location was very convenient- especially close to the national park. The hosts were super friendly and helpful!
Wonderful stay in this delightful casita. I don't think I have felt more at home while on vacation! Frederika thought of everything to make our week long stay special: welcome flowers, plenty of snacks, a stock of water bottles which you need in that dry, hot climate. Plenty of privacy meant you never felt you were intruding on the homeowner's property. Lots of local wildlife too. We would go back in a heartbeat!
The Dragonfly Casita is at the eastern edge of the Sonoran Desert east of Tucson. The Casita is very comfortable with a bedroom and a living area that includes kitchen, dining and living areas including a fireplace. The interior is nicely decorated keeping with the Southwestern style of the property. A large double glass door provides a view of the bird feeders and the mountains. A big part of the enjoyment of the Casita is the people that own it. While you do not feel like they are hovering over you, they are available to help make your stay a pleasure. My wife and I will return to the Dragonfly Casita next year.
Excellent property and hosts. The location is great for the National Park, access to Mt Lemmon and the air museum. The casita is super tidy and welcoming and comfortable. I really enjoyed my time in Tucson and am looking forward to returning.
