Fly Fishing for Trout on the Elk River is just a few minutes away!!! The creek on the property flows into the Big Spring Fork which forms the Elk River.

2 miles to Snowshoe's Entrance at the base and Golf Course.. Beautiful Log Home on 9 acres for rent by owner. Creek with Waterfall on property. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Private HOT TUB!
Very easy to get to unlike some homes in the area.

Recommended to sleep 6 adults and 2-4 kids on full bunk beds and day bed(more than 8 total will forfeit your booking) . 50-inch Flat Screen TV with Amazon Fire Stick with Home Theater System. Speaker system for playing your favorite tunes.. Large Lodge Style Fireplace. Wrap around decks and covered porch. Very private and cozy. For those that just can't get away, we have WIFI....Highspeed Fiber

No check in is required because their is a key lock box and you park right outside. Linens are included in all rentals.

Attractions/Activities are Golf, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Fly Fishing. Kayaking, NRAO, Cass Scenic Railroad, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Blackwater Falls and of course Snowshoe! Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls are a good drive but worth it.

Easy to access but 4-Wheel Drive or Snow Chains are HIGHLY recommended during the winter in case of a big snowstorm.. Short 10-15 minute drive to the slopes.

AMAZING! Hot tub was awesome, location is quiet and beautiful, the deck was lovely, kitchen had all we needed. It was great - highly recommend! The only issue - which is not the host’s fault - there is no cell service anywhere around there so print out driving directions! Your cell’s gps wont work for about a 30-minute radius of the home.

Great Cabin

We loved the cabin and the neighborhood. The view is beautiful and the property was a lot of fun to explore. We visit WV every spring and fall and we'll be looking up this cabin again for future stays.

Can't beat the hot tub with the views!

This was by far the best airbnb we've stayed at. Very accommodating and clean. Jim was very quick to answer any questions we had.We were a group of 6. 4 adults, 2 kids & 2 dogs. There was plenty of space for all of us. Dont forget to check out the little waterfall on the property. Its not a far hike at all. The trail can be easily missed if you dont know its there.If you walk down from the firepit toward the hot tub & turn left theres a partially mowed path. Keep following the path to the forest. Youll hear the water. The views were spectacular! The sun sets over the mountains in the backyard which was pretty to see.Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Solitude in the mountains.

Beautiful view from a quiet secluded cabin down a quiet gravel road. All things functioned well and made our stay just perfect. Biked the Greenbrier river trail and hiked trails on the Highland scenic highway. Did the 400 steps at Falls of Hills but it was so worth it. So get out there and enjoy "Wild Wonderful West Virginia".

Perfect Mountain retreat

Beautiful property in the mountains of West Virginia. Beautiful sunsets, hiking, absence of people and no phone service unless you really want to connect via suppied internet. Bring a cooler of food/drink and you won't have to leave. There is a well supplied little store a few miles away in the event you didn't bring something.

Perfect mountain vaca

Great cabin. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Good accessibility - road to cabin and driveway in very good shape. Kitchen was reasonably stocked. Beds very comfortable. Most destinations we visited were very mellow since it was skiing off-season, but that also made it a relaxing vacation. Very close to Snowshoe, Cass Railroad and Marlinton. Great hiking opportunities nearby. Identified over 20 species of birds right from the deck. Highly recommend this cozy cabin!

Absolutely what we needed!

We loved the property and the lack of other people. We maybe saw 3 cars in the 4 days we were there. We hiked all around the property enjoying the creek and the waterfall. Enjoyed the hottub many many times and also enjoyed the outside fire pit. Like at home sometimes something pops up that needs attention and those items were taken care of within an hour or 2 but it didn’t cause any hardships. We will definitely be back our 3 boys loved it and have talked about it nonstop. The Parkers .... Ohio

Mixed experience

Our family of 4 adults and 4 children stayed for a week at the cabin. The master bedroom loft area was a good size and well configured for the 4 children in our family; they loved having a hang out space away from the adults. We loved that the loft was open so we could easily keep tabs on the kids. We used the kitchen extensively, cooking 3 meals nearly every day. The grill was clean and easy to use. The kitchen table in the great room only seats 6, but the table and chairs on the deck provided additional seating we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and stargazing at night; the night sky in northeast Ohio can not compare! We did encounter a few issues during our stay, all of which pertained to cleanliness, or maintenance and upkeep. Jim was very responsive and his handyman was as well. We gave the cabin a thorough cleaning ourselves on the morning of our 2nd day as we hadn't heard from the housekeeper. Another disappointment was that the open grassy area shown in the photos had been allowed to grow to a field of tall grass; we had hoped that the kids could have played in that area as it was the only level area on the property that we knew of. With updating, maintenance and cleaning this could be a 4 or 5 star property.

This was our second time at the Moose Lodge. Very clean and the view is wonderful. The Snowshoe region is our favorite area in WV, the hikes on the Scenic Hwy are beautiful. We had perfect weather all week. Jim is an ecellent host, always responds quickly. We highly recommend a stay at this cabin.

Memorial Day at Snowshoe

Another family getaway up the mountain for Memorial weekend 2025. The cabin was well appointed and located just the right distance away from the activities our family enjoys most. Hot tub has an amazing view of sunset. Owner very responsive. No complaints or concerns; thanks for a great visit!

Nice and clean. Plenty of trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper which is always nice. Good easy distance to Snowshoe. If they get snow before/during your trip I would recommend 4WD. Great stay thank you!

Fantastic stay

This adorable cabin is picturesque and a fantastic hub for your snowshoe adventures. Easily view wildlife like deer as you drive or walk the area and sip some coffee as the sun comes up over the mountain. The kids loved the bunks and being dog friendly means our boys were comfy there too. The host was lovely and tried to prep us for everything we needed for the stay.

The cabin had everything we needed to cook and sleep . We came late in October so a lot of restaurants weren’t open n snowshoe . The drive to cass was beautiful and train ride was awesome . Would do this again but when places are open to try local food.

Charming Cabin

A groups of college friend and I booked this charming cabin for a long weekend getaway and we loved it! Very comfortable beds, very clean and modern kitchen, wrapround deck with gorgeous view. The wood burning fireplace and enormous stack of firewood were most welcome during the chilly nights and mornings. The waterfalls weren’t running much due to the drought and I would love to see them when they are full flow. The privacy of the property was much appreciated….it felt like we were deep in the country although there are neighbors down the road. I would book this charmer again….I wish Pocahontas County were closer for me but we picked as a central location for all of us traveling from several states away. I’m imagining the place in other seasons, particularly in winter when there is snow on the ground. Snowshoe is just down the road!

Why they chose this property

I love Snowshoe for it's beautiful mountains and lots of snow! It's the best resort in the Mid-Atlantic. It's worth the drive! Our cabin is located in a very private subdivision that is only 2 miles to the entrance and 10 minutes from the top of the mountain.

What makes this property unique

Creek with Waterfall on property. Awesome view of a the mountains and a pasture. You can go sledding in the back yard in the winter and exploring/hiking during the summer.
