The Blue Sky Buda near San Marcos river

Hello there! My name is Sophie. When my husband and I moved to Austin, we stayed in an Airbnb where our bed was a cheap old mattress on top of another old mattress. There was a colorful couch that was uncomfortable to sit on.

We created The Blue Sky Buda as a thoughtfully furnished space to live in, to work comfortably from or to be a relaxing escape for you and yours.

We only ask that you water the plants, take out the trash and treat this house as if it was your own home! <3

The Blue Sky Buda is a single family home that is comfortable, cozy and relaxing. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen / dining room. The front yard and back yard are fenced and each have a covered patio with chairs and small tables.

There are desks in each of the bedrooms to work from. The living room is equipped with a comfy couch and Chromecast TV if you're in the mood to binge watch YouTube or Netflix. There's a Nest Audio speaker to play your favorite tunes or podcasts from - just say "Hey Gooogle, pair bluetooth" to connect your phone, tablet or laptop. There are real plants in every room.

There are plenty of exciting destinations available within a short drive: 17 min to San Marcos river tubing, 20 min to Premium Outlets, 20 min to downtown and entertainment in SoCo and East 6th St.

Problem resolved by host

Upon arrival, we found the condition of the house unacceptable. The host was easily reachable and refunded our investment once I shared pictures of the issues. I won’t stay there in the future, but I did find the host to be reasonable and quickly responsive in this unfortunate situation.

False advertising

First we found roaches in our rooms the house foundation is so damaged there’s no way to stop bugs from getting into the house. We ended up also having to buy our own toilet paper cause they didn’t provide any. The fact i had to deal with the exterminator and the owner didn’t come to see is the issue is unacceptable. Make sure you check your sheets and stuff before you leave you don’t want to bring bugs home. The outside is worn down.

Pros: So much space here!! Accommodations were clean, beds comfortable and room for everyone! Check in and Check out process very easy - communication was great. Plenty of parking. Fan in the closet was a plus! Appliances big enough for a large group. Cons: There are a couple of stairs down into the master if you are traveling with handicaps - two other bedrooms available. We had no issues. Towels/hand towels/washcloths are sparse, but there is a washer and dryer available.

Decent Stay

Check-in and check out couldn't have been any easier. House was clean and accommodated our needs. Although it was not listed in the amenities and I missed it, it would have been nice to have wash clothes provided. The coffee maker is a Nespresso and not a traditional coffee maker which needs to be clarified. No reflection on the owners at all, the neighboring dogs barked excessively most all night, every night. Overall a decent place to stay and served it's purpose for our stay.

Great property

Everything about our stay was easy breezy. The house was exactly as pictured and very clean. We had 8 people with us, including a baby, and we had plenty of space. The property owner responded within minutes regarding any questions or concerns and made checkin/out a breeze. I would 100% stay here again if I were in the area. My only complaint was that there weren’t very many hand towels or wash rags. There also isn’t any cookie sheets for the over so keep that in mind if you are wanting to cook there. 10/10 would recommend

Great stay!

Sophie's place was new, clean, comfortable and a great location for us. Everything we needed was provided for us. We were close enough to do things in Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfles/Gruene, and San Antonio. She was very responsive, often within a minute of asking her a question. My family was grateful that they had a nice place to come home to after being out all day! Thanks for the great stay Sophie :-)
