This was ABSOLUTELY the WOOOOORST booking experience I have EVER had in my life!! First off, THIS guy did not even want to elaborate or clarify where this property was located. Secondly, when he did respond, it was curt and ambiguous. Initially, I assumed it may have been the language barrier, which is why I did not become immediately suspicious. What I did not realize at the time was that this was a precursor for the worst consumer experience of my entire life! I was forced to do my own research in order to figure out where this property was located. Based on the listing that we pre-paid for, my travel companion and I flew out from the east coast to San Diego with the intent of driving across the Mexican border. We got 2hrs of sleep the night before traveling so that we could catch the 1st flight out of the day in an attempt to maximize the time spent at the property, as we were only going to be renting for a duration of 3 days. We caught the 1st flight, no problems. We rented the vehicle in San Diego and headed to Mexico. We arrived 3hours later. right about the time that check-in was scheduled to commence. "Perfect", we thOUght, . . .but it was anything BUT!!
Because we never got any instructions, and no direction, we wasted 45 minutes upon arrival trying to figure out where the property was and how to access it. There was no signage, no attendants, no direction, and we had NO CELLULAR SERVICE!! I could not call. I could not text. ANd had no clue. AND . . .I do not speak the language!!! We finally saw one of the security staff members who also spoke some English (THANK GOD!) and we explained that we had a reservation. She escorted us inside where we spoke to the security manager who attempted to assist by looking up the information. 25 minutes after thAt, we FINALLY got him what he needed to contact the property owner who gave him the information to provide to us. "Finally!" we thought . . ." some relief, and we can begin our vacation" . . . .wrOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng!!!!!!
We were told that one of Christian's (The property owner) assistants was coming to get us situated. She appeared at the security desk and spoke no English. She showed us to the room, and IMMEDIATELY upon entering, I knew that this was NOT the VRBO listing that we had paid for. As you can imagine: after sleeping just 2 hours, a 6-hour flight, a 3-hour drive, and 1 hour to actually access the property, this was the LAST thing that we needed!
