About this property

Discover Kenai: Fishy-Fishy Townhome 2BR/2BA

Anticipate fresh, clean Alaska air, aroma of spruce forest, and the cry of Bald Eagles as you arrive at this townhome. In summer months, the property is surrounded by verdant green. Majestic forests, meadows, hillsides. Hike to the Kenai River in just twelve minutes along well-groomed trails. In wintertime our driveways, parking areas, walkways are all meticulously plowed and shoveled. The vast sky of stars and aurora borealis provide winter splendor.

This townhome is second story level, accessible by a covered exterior staircase. Four separate townhome units comprise this complex. Guests in this fourplex will be your neighbors. These townhomes share a communal yard, patio area with BBQ grill and picnic tables (available in the summer months). Guests often gather in the picnic area to savor the flavors of fresh-caught halibut and salmon sizzling in savory sauces.

Inside the freshly remodeled townhome, the open floor plan is a design element that brings family or friends together to share quality time and good conversation, effortlessly. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dish-ware, utensils, and features a full-size fridge, gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, blender, dishwasher, large sink with retractable spray kitchen faucet, plenty of cupboard and counter space, breakfast bar and coffee station. (We provide dish soap and soap for the dishwasher.) The coffee station has a Keurig, French press, pour over, coffee grinder, fresh coffee beans, milk-frother, tea, cocoa and popcorn!

Alaskan-themed art and décor are touches that enhance the ambiance of this fish-themed townhome, nicknamed “Fishy-Fishy”. Maps of the Kenai peninsula, fishing charts, vintage fishing photographs and fishing gear, authentic sea scapes, carvings, ceramics and posters of Alaska fish and wildlife, adorn this townhome. Our bookshelves feature books and guidebooks about fishing in Alaska. Our coffee-table with map of the Kenai Peninsula, and shower curtain featuring bold images of a bear and salmon are just a few examples of eye-catching fish-themed conversation pieces!

This spacious town-home has large windows that offer plenty of natural light during the day. Adjustable shades and premium black-out curtains ensure guests a restful night’s sleep in the land of the midnight sun. .

The dining table seats six and is the perfect spot to enjoy a home-cooked meal, or a smorgasbord of kripe produce from the local farmer’s market. The living room sofa, armchair, chaise lounge are ideal spots to sit back and watch your subscriptions on the 65" flat screen TV.

This townhome has two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed. Bedroom #1 has a rack for hanging clothes as well as a coat rack, and small work desk. Bedroom #2 has ample closet space and a desk/bureau. Brand new premium linens, colorful Alaskan quilts, and wintertime down comforters make for a wonderful night’s sleep. The living room sofa is a full size futon. We can also add a crib or floor mattress to accommodate guests. Just let us know.

“Fishy-Fishy” townhome has two full bathrooms. Bathroom #1 has a double vanity, bathroom #2 has a single vanity. Both bathrooms have ample vanity counter space, cabinet space, and large, well-lit mirrors, as well as lit, magnified make-up mirrors and hair dryers.

This townhome has a well-lit workstation/laptop desk. High-speed wifi! There is a laundry area with washer, dryer, ironing board, iron as well as detergent for the washing machine.

Guests can sip a morning cappuccino outdoors on the covered balcony/sitting area, on comfortable patio furniture. Balcony is accessed by a sliding glass door in the living room. The balcony is a great spot to enjoy birdsong, views of wildlife, sunsets, sunrises or the magic of the northern lights.

The neighborhood is safe and quiet, adjacent to a school, close to forests and meadows, and accessible to great hiking and trails. Wildlife abounds in this area. Regular sightings of Moose and Bald Eagles. Alternatively, a downtown urban area with Walmart, Starbucks and grocery stores is just a few short minutes away by car. Our guests compliment the convenience of this townhome, as it is located just one mile from the downtown shopping district and 1.5 miles from the Kenai airport (no flight noise!)

Because this is a multiplex, with four townhomes, we’ve made it easy for guests to identify the “Fishy-Fishy” unit with a colored front door! The front door to “Fishy-Fishy” Townhome is painted blue. We chose a glacial blue color theme for this townhome to celebrate the dazzling turquoise-blue of the Kenai River and Alaska waters.

There is a designated parking spot and plenty of street parking. This is an older building and sometimes the pipes rattle and gurgle when heating up. We consider this as part of that authentic Alaskan charm. This is not a bothersome sound but might help to know in advance. There may be noise from other guests as this townhome is part of a four-plex. We have a quiet time rule from 11pm -6am. PLEASE be considerate and abide by quiet hours and PLEASE let us know if others are not. (Anytime of night).

We strive to keep our townhome sparkling clean. Please understand, this is an older building that does have wear and tear like older tubs, showers, cabinets, and some older appliances. Please let us know right away with any issues you may be having to give us a chance to get there ASAP and make it right for you.

We want to do whatever is needed to make your stay most enjoyable at Discover Kenai.

Inviting Condo
My toddler and I stayed here over the holidays. The condo was inviting, clean, and had everything we needed. We were there during a massive snow storm and Kristi was very communicative and accommodating to our situation. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Kenai!

I am a people person who loves to explore and meet new folks. I love to travel, cook, take photos, edit photos, do calligraphy, teach others and stay at home with my kids! I have been to Germany, Israel, Kenya, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Guatemala, Canada, Mexico and England. My husband was born in Alaska. Four of our 6 children have commercial fished up here in AK for many summers and 3 of them still do! I have worked at camps, churches, art studios, and online as a Virtual Assistant and even worked for a TV talk show host that begins with an O for 3+years. I appreciate being able to work from home because I love my home and family! I love living in Kenai because of the beauty and quiet. My favorite work by far is hosting guests on VRBO and helping them experience all that Kenai, AK has to offer. I hope to meet some of you one day and would love to help in any way to make your Alaskan experience all it can be.
