The mountain villages of Gordes, Bonnieux, Ménerbes and Lacoste are also worth a detour, which you can reach, for example, via the beautiful gorge Combe de Lourmarin with the river Aigue Brund and impressive limestone cliffs. This gorge is also the gateway between the northern and southern Luberon and forms the border between the Petit Luberon or Small Luberon to the west and the Grand Luberon or Great Luberon to the east. Take a detour to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, popularly known as the Venice of Provence, which offers a multitude of outdoor cafés along its canals as well as plenty of flea market vendors and artisans.
