Hugh or Dorothy
About Hugh or Dorothy
The owners took great care in choosing the perfect location for the villa - a quaint area on the north-west coast of the island so as to experience the Caribbean Sea, but also to experience the quiet relaxed Barbadian life. The proximity to the beach and the rhythmic sounds of the ocean led them to choose the name ‘Sea Symphony’ strongly influenced by their renowned musical background.
Hugh or Dorothy purchased this Villa in 1995
Why Hugh or Dorothy chose Checker Hall
The excitement of activity is a stone’s throw away and with numerous choices including golfing, water sports, fine dining, shopping and a variety of attractions in Speightstown and Holetown. For the more adventurous, the East coast is also nearby for those who want to experience the rugged terrain and the Atlantic Ocean, which is good for surfing and is a regular stop for international surfing.
What makes this Villa unique
A spectacular view of the ocean and also individual views of the ocean from all rooms. Sunsets are varied and very colourful. Many areas to sit and relax in a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle. Indoor and outdoor dining choices. Still stay in touch with your available complimentary high speed WIFi and cable television. Daily staff - chef, housekeeper, laundress, pool attendant - enjoy full relaxation with no household chores to worry about. Proximity and easy access to the natural beach which is good for snorkeling.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great place to spend quality time with friends and family
The villa is perfect for a large group. It's walkable to a small beach area. And we found lots to do a short cab drive away, Dorothy is amazingly helpful and the staff is superb! We truly enjoyed ourselves!
It was more than a pleasure hosting you and your family.
HOT in the summer
The staff were fantastic and the villa beautiful. Unless you are in the bedrooms, the villa is extremely hot in the summer time. Only the bedrooms have AC units. You have to walk across the street and down the hill to reach the small beach. A car is a must, especially since you will have to purchase your own food for daily consumption.
Can't wait to return
We have stayed at the villa twice and the condo on the hill once. I can't wait to return this year. Missed last year but won't miss it again. The staff are so friendly, the weather is perfect, the villa is beautifully maintained and the food is prepared to everyone's particular tastes. Grocery shopping is an experience and easy, especially, the fresh fish from the locals. Hugh and Dorothy are excellent hosts and I look forward to seeing them in the future.
Not a beachfront villa!
The house is wonderful, but if you are looking for a beachfront villa this is not it! the staff and the pool were nice, but a car is definitely needed to enjoy the beaches of Barbados. We thoroughly enjoyed the catamaran ride, swimming with the turtles, the Animal Flower Cave (the view is breathtaking), the Wildlife Preserve and scuba diving.
Sea Symphony is an exclusive luxury villa, on Barbados' north west coast - by the beach, with private pool, car, cable TV, fax, DVD, wireless internet, treadmill machine, full daily staff, all bedrooms A/C with en suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, gardens, gazebo, complimentary pick up to and from the airport.
Other Activities: Sight seeing - Harrison's Cave, Sea Turtles, Andromeda Gardens, Flower Forest, Animal Flower Cave, Wildlife Reserve, Farley Hill , Earthworks Pottery.
