Imagine waking up to mist drifting off the water, stepping onto a wraparound deck cradled by towering oaks, coffee in hand, nothing but birdsong and the gentle lap of Lake Aspen below. This A-frame chalet on Innsbrook's Big Lake isn't just a getaway — it's the kind of place families return to year after year. Soaring vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, a private pontoon boat, hot tub, and lakefront dock. Missouri's best-kept secret, just 45 min west of St. Louis.
ABOUT THIS SPACE Step inside and exposed wood beams rise to a cathedral peak, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the main floor with forest light, and a sliding glass door frames Lake Aspen from your living room. The large sectional sofa and smart TV anchor the living area. The full kitchen has everything for a long-weekend feast: stainless range, refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffee maker, and a full set of cookware.
Sleeping arrangements for up to 11 guests: • Main-floor master — 1 king + 1 twin, sliding glass door to deck, exposed beam ceiling • 3-season sunroom off the master — screened windows, wicker seating, a quiet reading perch • Second-floor bedroom — queen + 2 twin beds under the steep A-frame roofline, full bath • Sleeping loft — additional space above the main floor • Living room flex — sofa bed + 1 single + 1 floor mattress
Both full baths are updated: the main-floor bath has a walk-in glass shower with subway tile; the upper bath sits beneath the A-frame's signature triangular window.
Outside is where this chalet earns its reputation. The wraparound deck is genuinely sprawling — Adirondack chairs, gas grill, and a private hot tub open year-round. Steps lead to the private lakefront: • Dock on Lake Aspen (Innsbrook's 2nd largest lake) • Paddle pontoon boat (seats 6) with life vests included • 2 adult kayaks + 1 child kayak + 2 paddleboards • Lakefront fire pit with Adirondack chairs and hammock
Also included: Pack 'n Play, board games, AC, keypad self check-in, free parking, pet-friendly.

The host was amazing and gave detailed instructions on how to find the place, and how to get in.
The cabin itself is super cool. The sloped ceilings, the rooms, the balcony area, massive living room, the upstairs beds, it's all amazing.
I have two dogs, so my favourite part was that it was a secluded area, and they could run around. There is also private access to the lake. I would say this place was in my top 3 VRBO cabins.
Would highly recommend this place.
Nice property. I wouldn't say that it was spotless clean when we arrived but it was clean. Issue with Pontoon paddle boat and hot tub had murky water in which we did not even get in. Other thank those two things for the price for the stay it was decent. Nice to just get away to relax.
After weeks of relentless sunshine and 100+ degree temperatures, our vacation time took a turn.
We had stayed at Innsbrook once before and knew the location and what to expect. The house/cabin was nice and had the basics of what we needed. It rained, and it rained some more, so the pool was closed and it actually was chilly. Luckily, the house had games, and a TV, and was comfortable. Our daughter loved it and had a blast on the muddy beach across from the house.

Dirty Chalet
Chose this property due to being in a gated community. After being on the road for the majority of the day, arrived at the place around 9 pm. To begin with, the host failed to put us in the guest list, so, had to wait for the guard to get through the host to verify our reservation. Prior to arrival, explicitly stated we needed a crib. The host replied there was a pack and play. Upon arrival, it was nowhere to be found. Called the host, the pack and play was put up in a closet. Putting it together was the last thing I wanted to do after a whole day on the road with an infant. The host said he was not near the property, so, he had no solution. Thankfully, we had a bassinet with us. Pack and play is not something that is safe for an infant to sleep in. The place was dirty. There was a layer of dust on the paper towel rack. I might have missed it, however, the property has no dishwasher, no washer, no dryer. They also expect you to do dishes after yourself before you leave. There were passive-aggressive signs on the fridge about putting things back, so that the housekeeper doesn't have to do it, otherwise, there may be a charge. We paid too much for one night, and we didn't feel relaxed or welcome at all. Doing dishes before I leave is not something I want to worry about when I'm about to spend another day on the road. Especially, when paying a hefty cleaning fee.
This place was exactly as pictured. Quiet, beautiful scenery and comfortable home. My two sisters and I just need a place with plenty of comfortable seating because we use this time to visit and catch up. The seating in the living room was perfect for this! Relaxing place to visit with our brother and his wife as well. He lives in the area.
The chalet is clean and cozy and a great place to come back and unwind after a day out exploring the wine trail. Although we didn't take advantage of everything the Innsbrook resort had to offer, (golf, club house, restaurant, etc.), we had a lovely stay at the chalet. We used the hot tub, paddle pontoon, built a fire in the fire pit and hiked a Innsbrook trail. Enjoyed the wildlife as well. Overall we highly recommend and hope to be back.
Beautiful setting and chalet for family weekend of sun, relaxing, food and laughs! Cant say enough good things about the chalet and overall VRBO experience.
