Thank you Donna. Who were the perfect guests and I’m glad you had a wonderful time. Thank you for leaving the property in perfectly immaculate condition.
Booked and paid in July for October stay. Never heard from host how to access property. Had to find a last minute hotel. Finally received a call from her as we were driving home. Said she’d been sick. I asked for refund but haven’t received it yet

As per my previous review track record of rave reviews and being a premier host, this circumstance was an anomaly. I apologized profusely for being so seriously ill I was hospitalized. I contacted VRBO immediately to request your refund, which they agreed to tend to. I was told it would take 5-7 days for them to process that for you. You should have received full refund by now, as I most certainly took care of it at my end. Things happen, and again, so sorry for your inconvenience of having to stay elsewhere. I look forward to moving forward and returning to being a wonderful host to wonderful guests, as my property is very special.
The property we were supposed to stay in somehow got double booked, so Heather offered to let us stay in her other property, a charming cottage on Lake Owasco. We loved it. The place had a relaxing Zen vibe, all the amenities one could hope for, and a great view of the lake (complete with gorgeous sunsets). If we're ever back in the area, we'd definitely stay there again.
History, romance and tranquility abound in this exquisitely decorated cottage! This is the perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion or just to unwind. We loved the enchantingly landscaped cottage gardens, so close to the quaint town of Skaneateles. Heather, the gracious host, provides perfect amenities to enjoy your stay. Thanks so much!!! M & B
So....through no fault of Heather's, VRBO double booked this property!! She immediately contacted me with another property she had available and we took it sight unseen. It turned out to be amazing and even more suited to our needs than the schoolhouse! We hope to visit the schoolhouse one day but until then, all we can comment on is the great communication and flexibility of Heather and the fabulous time we had at the alternate location she provided! We will definitely be back!
We visited the school house and it was absolutely wonderful. Heather was so great to work with. She was very quick to answer any questions and gave a lot of recommendations. You can tell she is very passionate about her property and what she has done with it. We were so close to the village, winery’s and great restaurants. The property itself is very charming and quaint…exactly what we wanted. It is well equipped with everything you could need. We will definitely be coming back!

About the host
Hosted by Heather Bruno-Sears
Decorative Artist, Heather Bruno-Sears, combines her love of well-wrought work & Life itself to create an endless repertoire of clever visual effects…. Specializing in custom finishes for interior decor. Heather discovered the school house completely overgrown in near ruins w/ a huge hole in the roof & crumbling stonewalls all boarded up with a dirt floor. She knew it was a diamond in the rough - had a vision & passion to hands-on lovingly restore/renovate it….10 years later the labor of love gem it is today has the semblance of a cozy English cottage & serves as a show room for Heather’s exquisite finishes. Heather is happy to be able to host guests to this very special property which has the feel of a sanctuary retreat. www.heatherbrunosears.com
