About this property

MASTER ON MAIN W 2nd BDRM ON MAIN!!! UNLIMITED VIEWS!!!

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE CABIN!!! Perched high on a hillside, with endless mountaintop views, you’ll wonder if you’ve climbed a stairway to Heaven or has Heaven come down to meet you. Perhaps the answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind. Located just 10 minutes from town, the lavishly appointed, cedar sided, lodge style home is convenient to shopping, dining, churches, medical facilities and entertainment, but if it’s privacy you seek, you’ll be on your own like a rolling stone. It’s the perfect place to experience cool autumn nights, crisp sunny days and all the splendor of fall colors. You’ll enjoy brisk evenings out on the covered porch, sipping a warm beverage, snuggled up in comfy rockers by the huge outdoor wood-burning fireplace, where you’ll be making precious memories to last a lifetime. It’s hurricane season in the south anyway, so don’t be a sad-eyed lady of the lowlands, come on up and let us give you shelter from the storm. A Family Friendly Floor Plan!: This luxury 7 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home comfortably sleeps up to 16 with a King Sized Master Suite on the main level as well as a smaller bedroom with a full bed and full bath. ***N0TE***Area over Garage, door connects to the loft area, with 3 separate bedrooms and bath. All bedrooms are very spacious with ample closets and a view from every room. Beds are very comfortable. Huge master bath with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Travertine tile. 2 Separate vanities for guests. Full bath upstairs with tub and shower. The great room has cathedral ceilings with windows all around to enjoy the view and an inviting seating area centered around a massive stone gas log fireplace, flanked by a 65" flat screen HD/TV. The dining area with antique farm table seats eight and the enviable, fully equipped kitchen is offset by a large stone island which seats another 2 or 3 guests. Upstairs, there’s an open loft area with game table, seating and plenty of games, perfect for rainy day people of all ages. Down the hall is another Queen sized bedroom, full bath and a huge “Bunk room” with two traditional bunk beds and a Queen sized bed as well. This bedroom sleeps up to 6 comfortably. Kick Back & Relax or Get Out & Have Some Fun!: Professionally decorated and embellished throughout with tasteful rustic antiques, folk art, furnishings and memorabilia, you’ll find the home lacking nothing in comfort and convenience. All too soon, however, you’ll have to hit that endless highway and be on the road again, but don’t think twice; it’s alright – we’ll be here for you when you return, so never say goodbye. Just 10 minutes from pristine Lake Chatuge, it's just a short drive to either of 3 local marinas where you can rent boats, canoes, kayaks, Pontoons or jet skis for a day of fun on the water. Families with small children will love the little white sandy beach area with playground, tennis courts, boat launch and picnic area. And of course, there's the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival at the fairgrounds, located just minutes from town and your cabin. Check out their website to see which of your favorite performers will be appearing in concert while you're here as well. Places To Go - Things To See & Lots To Do!: Within a relatively short driving distance you'll find all kinds of activities and attractions with something for everyone. There are hiking trails and at least 5 waterfalls that are well worth going out of your way to see. There's Horseback Riding at the new Brasstown Stables, Fishing, White Water Rafting, 'Grubbing for Gems' & Panning for Gold in nearby Dahlonega, and if you have little ones, be sure to visit the Birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Dolls, just outside of Cleveland. Of course you wouldn't want to miss a visit to the Alpine village of Helen, just 25 minutes away, where you can find something for everyone. There are street performers, dancing, fun and activities for the whole family, along with an interesting array of little shops and great restaurants. Go tubing on the river that goes right through the heart of town or take a ride in the tram for a truly unique tour of the village.

Reunion of old friends
Our group of 8 old friends held our annual reunion weekend at this property in March. It was a very pleasant stay, the highlight being sitting on the covered deck in front of the outdoor fireplace and taking in the excellent views. The furniture inside of the house was comfortable, and the interior was decorated in an interesting mountain theme manner with lots of antiques. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. Wi-fi worked well. Our cell phones worked OK after we connected them through the wi-fi. (Note, cell phone coverage is spotty in the whole area around Hiawassee.) In general, we liked the property, although we have a few suggestions for improvement: Some of the bedrooms lacked curtains or blinds. We could not find the major networks on the TV, it looked like there was no cable service, only a Samsung service and some streaming apps. Not a big deal to us, but maybe to others. (Consider posting a guide the TV services). The bedroom situation in the loft over the garage was a bit unusual, you had to go through the twin-beds bedroom to get to the other 2 queen bedrooms in the loft. The portable electric tower heater was not working. Some other reviews have commented on the steep driveway. Yes it's steep, but we found it to be no problem, even though it was raining when we first arrived. Just shift into low and put your foot down! All in all, we found it to be a nice property and we had a great weekend there.

Gorgeous View
We had a lovely time and the view was incredible! The house was lovely and lots of room for 5 women to move about!! We had an issue, but owner helped us out so it was fine. The deck was our favorite spot to just sit and lookout at the mountains.

Family fun.
The property was pretty. The house was beautiful. The kitchen was very well stocked with pretty much of anything you need to cook with. The driveway was a little steep, but wasn’t a issue since we didn’t get snow. Parking was a tight fit, but we did just fine. All in all, we had a great stay and would stay there again.

Perfect Family Getaway
The property sits up above the valley with a beautiful view. Our first 2 days the weather was a little wet but the morning view of the low clouds across the valley was stunning. The deck wraps around from the side to the back and has both a great place for reading in a rocking chair of fellowshipping around the fireplace.

We are a couple that loves traveling ourselves. We think Hiawassee is probably on of the best values left in having a vacation of this quality. I grew up in this town and went to school here.
I took the beauty for granted until I moved to the city later in life. We are local business owners and have antiques & jewelry and gift shops inside Hiawassee Antique Mall and
most people in these shops will know us. We are there a lot of the time working on our space.

Why they chose this property

This is the most private property you could find. No houses around usk. We have rented this property for 11 years. It is an exceptional property to
be on the rental program. There are so many details in this property you do not find in other rentals. To rent here is an experience, just a few days away.

What makes this property unique

The mountains are so close to you, they are in your face and surround you with their beauty.
Our porch, oh my our porch! The huge wood burning fireplace and the huge covered porch are unsurpassed. To be out there perched on a mountain top in nature while being with your family or friends is an amazing experience.
