Welcome to a new must-see property in the popular Powder House Pass named Old Fashioned! This brand new 5 bedroom custom property has been designed and built with your vacation comfort in mind. Located in the heart of the Northern Hills recreational corridor close to ATV/snowmobile trails, this lodge is sure to make your Black Hills vacation the best it can be!

Old Fashioned is a great option for those groups looking for room to spread out while having a large and open gathering area around the kitchen and living room, vaulted ceilings with floor to ceiling windows and a cozy modern fireplace! The large well-stocked kitchen has a large kitchen island and all the wonderful cooking amenities you enjoy having for cooking meals. There's a dining table with comfortable seating for up to 8 with the kitchen island having 4 bar stools. The kitchen area walks out onto the large deck with an amazing view of the starry skies and nearby forest, and there's a gas grill available as well. The living room has a large sofa, TV, and fireplace. There's also a two-stall garage great for storing those ATV and snowmobiles you bring on your trip. The upper level includes 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The lower level has a nice living area with a sectional sofa, TV, and shuffleboard table! There's a walk out from the lower level out onto the patio that has a large hot tub for those cool nights and an additional table. There's also two more bedrooms on the lower level.

Outside you'll find a nice driveway that can fit a smaller trailer or two, and great proximity to the local clubhouse where you'll have access to a heated pool, fire table and game room with pool table! You can easily take the couple minute walk over to the clubhouse down the main road through the subdivision and likely see wildlife on your short walk. There are snowmobile trails that can be accessed on the edge of the subdivision, and ATV trails that can be easily accessed on a short ride down Rochford road that you can connect with miles and miles of off-road fun!

Deadwood is only 15 minutes away and there are taxi's that do service the area if you're looking to take in a concert, gamble, enjoy some great food or just walk the historic main street. The highly popular Spearfish Canyon is just 10 minutes away as well, with its amazing fly fishing, hiking, and just taking in the beauty of the rim-rock canyon walls and local waterfalls. In about an hour drive, you can also be enjoying larger attractions like Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake or Devils Tower. The location of Old Fashioned is perfectly centralized between so many fun things to do during your vacation.

We had our family Christmas there this past weekend! Great location, clean, and a gorgeous place! The games in the basement were a GREAT addition and kept the kids busy the whole weekend. Hot tub was just what we needed after a day at Terry Peak! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for a great stay, I don’t think it will take any convincing to get our family to come back again!

Large Family Vacation

The house was perfect for our family. Because there were four individual families the house was perfect. Each had their own bedroom with a king in each and a full or queen bunkbed. It was perfect for their family with small children.. The location was great, within walking distance to the pool. The house was situated on a cul-de-sac, so the kids could ride their bikes with plenty or room to play outside.

Graduation vacation trip

This house was remarkable!!! We had 12 adults and 1 child so we needed a lot of room and bathrooms were not an option to share. The games downstairs kept the adult kids entertained and the hot tub was relaxing! Location was so fabulous and an hour and half from everything we wanted to do. We even got Landry done for the next leg of our vacation. I will stay with this company again for sure!!!!

Excellent property for large groups

Perfect property for large groups. I would say it’s more suited for less than 23 guests. We had the max of 26 and ended up having to use air mattresses. Wasn’t an issue with our group. Enjoyed our trip, great property!

Summer vacation

The house is perfect for a large family with children. I love that each room has a king bed and queen bunk beds. I contacted the property manager a couple of times and the response was almost immediate. The heated swimming pools are a great fun for the family. Additionally it was rainy and cold so the hot tub was a pleasant surprise.

Great home for large family gatherings

We enjoyed 4 nights at The Old Fashioned . . . it's a great home for large groups (we came with 21). Although it was advertised to "sleep 26", we found room for 22 if four slept in each set of bunk beds (that's going to happen!). But we made it work. The Great Room was very spacious . . . a wonderful deck! Not much parking for vehicles/trailers/ATV's.

Most rooms have bunk beds plus a king size bed and an en suite bathroom. This place has personal space plus places to gather with everyone. We enjoyed the fire table on the beautiful porch. The kitchen was well equipped. We found the cabin to be very clean and really enjoyed the close proximity to dirt biking trails. The club house and pool were also very popular with the littles.

Reviewer Comments: With 5 bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, our main requirement was met at the Old Fashioned. Ample gathering space for our group. Fireplace on the deck was enjoyable. Kitchen was well equipped. Expected to have soap/shampoo in each bathroom, washcloths were sparse. Water heater did not keep up with the needs of the 5 bathrooms even with staggered showering, water pressure was weak at best, both important after a dusty day on the trail. We had a plumbing issue upon arrival which was taken care of the next day, but it took 3 contact attempts to the property management company to get a response to the problem. Parking is limited at the property. Overflow parking is about 1/3 miles away. Still a good property for the price point.
