Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
The home was clean and stocked but false advertising on the lake. The water has been gone for so long that grass has grown at the bottom. The springs on the hideaway mattress is broke and there is a leak in the bathroom sink. We used most of our towels to dry that up. This is our first Vrbo that was not as advertised.

Chris we are sorry that did not enjoy your stay. Unfortunately, we cannot control mother nature. When we travel to a place the first thing we do before making a reservation is do some research on the area, current conditions, etc. Like when we book our Frio River trip, i check on the river flow, or a ski trip I like to know of the forecasted fresh power. For you to leave a 2 star because you did not research the lake level is just a testament to your lack of preparation. You never communicated any of the issues, in fact you never replied to one message we sent you. You came up with issues of the house a week later when you were charged a pet fee that you admitted to of bringing a dog but not clicking on bringing pet. A leak in the bathroom surely should have been reported to your host but it was not. Sounds like you just like to make things up for your lack of preparation and honesty
Host was great about instructions. The place is clean and spacious. The yard is well-kept with frequent sightings of deer and beautiful birds. Aside from groceries, the kitchen was fully stocked. TVs in every room with Spectrum and Roku. It is unfortunate that the lake levels were down severely. The lake can been seen but it is no longer at the place. It looks like it hasn’t been for some time. I would stay there again.
This property is very nice & clean. It is comfortable and in a beautiful setting. The deck is a great place to sit & enjoy the sunrise.
The only negative is they don’t want you to flush anything other than natural waste, not even toilet tissue, due to rural septic system.
It was an enjoyable stay. We found it odd that it was a duplex of sorts but all in all it was not a shared living space, it worked out just fine for us. It is a beautiful neighborhood and we enjoyed waking up to see the deer out the bedroom windows. The guys enjoyed fishing off the pier.
The property was very clean and suited our needs. However, arriving and seeing how low the lake has apparently been for over a decade was a bummer. The pictures on VRBO need to be updated. We were also unaware we’d be sharing the property with down stairs tenants.

Thank you for your 5 stars. Yes, this property is a duplex property as stated in detail. But hopefully you enjoyed your entire upstairs unit. The lake is one of the drinking reservoirs for the City of Corpus Christi and it does change a lot. It was full just 8 short months ago and if we had to update photos every time the water level changed we'd had to hire a full-time photographer. The state of Texas has an app that is called Lake Levels. You can pick from any Texas lake and know the current water levels. This is what i use when i look at fishing other lakes. Lake Corpus Christi is currently 9.2 feet from being full.
We were under the impression it was a whole home rental. Prior to arrival I got a message from the property owner. That there is an older couple downstairs and quiet time us at 10. We were told that they were a sweet couple and would cause no trouble. Well everything is heard because of how poorly insulated walls are so a normal conversation was heard outside regardless of your tone. The older lady downstairs asked us to be quiet since 9 o'clock cause she was going to bed. I advised the property manager that we would be bar b Qing with a few guest. He advised that was ok. She was upset the whole time sat outside and just watched us. Which made the evening so uncomfortable. It was a weekend get a way that we did not get to enjoy. Too many rules for something we paid full price for with no discounts. Do not recommend if you have kids. Could've been a perfect trip if it wasn't that they rent out the bottom unit to that older couple.
