About this property

The Hideaway: Charming Log Cabin Near Hot Springs

Welcome to The Hideaway, our cozy log cabin tucked into the hills surrounding Garden Valley. Just minutes from the quaint town of Crouch, enjoy all that this peaceful mountain retreat has to offer including proximity to Terrace Lakes Golf Course & Pool, Starlight Mountain Theatre, restaurants & the Hinge Wine Cellar, hiking, biking & ATV trails and numerous hot springs. Payette River offers fishing & floating opportunities for all skill levels. Rest and tranquility await you at The Hideaway.
The space
The Hideaway is a charming log cabin situated on nearly an acre with tongue and groove pine ceilings, covered wrap-around porch and ample room to play and relax on the property. A stone ringed fire pit and sturdy log seats welcome you to hours of laughter and enjoyment roasting s'mores and taking in the starry night sky. Enjoy views of Scott Mountain from the adirondack chairs.

This mountain cabin is the perfect retreat for a small group of friends, a romantic weekend in the mountains, family getaway or a basecamp for your outdoor adventures!

Newly remodeled and well equipped, the kitchen welcomes you to prepare culinary delights or keep it simple with all the amenities at your fingertips including; dishwasher, microwave and toaster, new cook and bakeware, utensils, a variety of Trader Joe's spices and oil. Coffeemakers (drip, Keurig, and traditional coffee pot); coffee filters and tea are provided.

The living room features comfortable and contemporary couches and a large chair and ottoman ideally situated in front of the wood stove for reading or contemplation. The two story gambrel tongue and groove pine beam ceiling makes the main living area feel roomy; a multitude of windows offer light as well as views of wildlife, trees and mountains. It is common to see herds of white tail deer or elk passing through the property; grouse, birds and other wildlife all add to the enjoyment at this restful cabin.

Bedroom 1 is located on the main level with a queen bed and private locking door to the bathroom. The bed has soft sheets, comforter and down pillows for you to enjoy; a selection of vintage books and decor add to the charm of the space.

Bedroom 2 is also located on the main floor with access to the bathroom across a hallway. This charming bedroom features a beautiful antique full size wooden bed, soft and comfortable bedding and pillows. Antique nature prints, log walls and two large windows (one of the best views in the house!) all add to the comfort of this room.

Bedroom 3 is located up a set of stairs lit by a lantern inviting you into this open and roomy loft space. Currently two twin beds are adorned with matching bedding; an antique rocker and blanket round out this cozy open loft.

3 things need immediate attention: 1. front steps and hand rail are dangerous -steps sloping down and handrail falling apart. no handrail on steps from driveway to back steps 2. no grab bars in bath. 3. listing is very inaccurate and misleading - contrary to listing, all amenities are available at the cabin

Hideaway and unplug
Great location and adequate space for a family. Surprised by the 4 twin beds upstairs. This was great for all the family to have their own beds. Provided a fantastic atmosphere to unplug and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Great place for a ladies escape weekend
Beautiful vaulted ceiling over a loft of four beds. My friends and I felt like we were sorority girls/having a high school sleepover and giggled late into the evenings. Fire place and comfy couches made for relaxing afternoons chatting and watching the snow fall. Lovely kitchen space for prepping some meals and snacks with us all circling the granite island with the stove top. Kitchen table is about as big as the space allows and worked well enough for four ladies to play card games. Plenty of room for parking. Close to town without being in town. Drove to free roadside hot springs rather than attending the resort. I’ve never seen so many elk in my life. So glad we had this weekend. Even appreciate that the 3 night minimum pushed us to savor it.

Great Location - More Detailed Property Information Would be Nice
Great location of cabin, elk outside our windows every morning. The description of amenities could be a lot more detailed. Note, there is no TV so bring your own device, WIFI very sketchy and this was not noted in the description, only notified after the property was booked. Awesome wood burning stove, but make sure to load up all your own firewood to burn, none is supplied. This also would have been good to know so we could have come up prepared. No instructions on what to do for departing the cabin (starting dishwasher, laundry, turning heat up or down etc.). This is a cute little cabin if you're wanting a quiet disconnect from social media.
