The house and the owners are perfect. We stayed here for a concert in Hartford and it was perfect only being 15 minutes from the venue.

Beautiful Property & Amazing Host

We used this beautiful property to get ready for my best friends wedding. Yinka was an amazing host and did everything in her power to accommodate us. Home is close to everything you need!

Very cozy- lovely home

We had a very cozy and lovely stay. Our pet loved the secure fenced in backyard. The upstairs of house had nice cozy rooms, and a gorgeous updated full bath. Clean! We slept like babies in the memory foam bed. Plus- we were minutes to the hopping downtown west Hartford shopping center - which was a huge plus.

Above and beyond.

My 2 friends and I stayed for one night and found Yinka’s place to be just as it was advertised, but with added touches to make us feel especially welcome and comfortable. For one, it was spotlessly clean and fresh, and tastefully, comfortably furnished and decorated. For another, she had stocked the fridge with eggs and bread and other treats, and also left a bottle of Brut and basket of Lindt chocolates. Check -in was simple and Yinka was always available if we had a question. She really went above and beyond to make our brief stay better than we expected.

Barely OK

Overall I was OK. Wouldn’t stay there again. Had to chase to get the address of the location. Finally called VRBO and they got it for me mid morning. There were sheets from the previous person on the desk. No pillow cases on one of the beds, wet towels on back of bathroom door. The lawn was a foot tall with lots of weeds. Feel sorry for the neighbors. Furniture was beat.

Short Stay in West Hartford

The pictures of the property are beautiful & it looks like that inside the house expect it was definitely a rush job in the renovation. The place was really cleaned; shower curtain needs replacing; tub didn’t drain properly; refrigerator was dirty & food was left in it; oven was dirty & it smoked when when cooked; there was ONLY ONE frying pan; washer & dryer still had clothes in them & washer leaks; basement was dirty; weather stripping was coming off the front door; & the fence in the front yard had almost fallen down. It can be a beautiful house if it is cleaned properly & better maintained.

Bare bones

Positives: Good location, easy to get to. It's nice to have a large driveway, and the back yard looks great for bringing your pet (we didn't have ours this time). The owner was very responsive/ helpful. Negatives: Overall, the place felt as though it had been turned over too quickly. It didn't feel clean- there was lots of hair on the sheets and in the bathroom. A lot of the infrastructure of the home (toilet paper dispenser, heating elements, walls) had damage, which just left an "unhomey" vibe. A lot of the furniture felt very bare-bones. For example, the sheets on the bed felt very cheap with a plastic mattress liner. There was a fire alarm that was chirping all night. I suppose one gets what one pays for, and this is a three- bedroom, which is nice- each room was a comfortable size. Nevertheless, a little more attention to detail is needed to make this place worth it.

Could be great, but far from it

I originally rented this for me, my husband and my mom as we were in town visiting family. Due to illness, I was the only one that ended up going. I got there after dark and it was super creepy because not a single light was on inside or outside of the property The layout is great but it needs a serious makeover. The couch and shower curtain had stains on it, there's a little mold on the plastic shower liner, and the wall leading up the stairs has so many scuff marks, it looks like 4 different families have moved in and out at least. The dining table only had three chairs instead of four, with some additional metal folding chairs leaning against the wall, and the table itself had dog eared edges. I was grateful for coffee, but there was only a large tub of Walmart brand coffee creamer POWDER available. Gross. Overall, it felt like I was staying in a friend's house who might be away for the weekend. Honestly, this might be the property that makes me stop trying to rent through these platforms altogether. I would not recommend this property unless the items I mentioned above got replaced/repaired.

Good but needs improvements!!!!!!!

Overall we were generally OK with our stay! Improvements that would be appreciated: Upgrade Dining and Living room furniture, it was dated and in poor condition. Upgrade Kitchen Utensils, no cutting knife, poor quality and quantity of Pots and Pans , the two can openers did not work, it was very frustrating preparing meals. The silverware was low quality. Its hard enough to be away from our families working all week your experience did not fell like a home away from home but more of a cheep apartment when I was in college. Maybe host should stay there for a week!

We were satisfied with our stay after a rough beginning. Would of appreciated a faster response from the owner. We called when we first arrived at 4:00 pm because of missing items and we did not hear back from them until 2.5 hours later. Also, the supplies needed were not provided to the following morning after 9:30 am. Additional things that need to be improved are: -The place needs new pots and pans. Many of the pans at the place are rusted. Baking sheets are needed. -Large bowls would be appreciated for mixing and serving food. -Tissues were not provided. -The side porch was not accessible. Would of been nice to sit in it. -The living room had pictures on the website with two chairs and a sofa. When we arrived, there was only one chair available. With a little more attention, this property would be a great VRBO experience.

overwhelming scents

The property looked clean and generally as described. The entire house smelled strongly of air freshener, overwhelmingly so, as if trying to cover some other smell. One upstairs bedroom smelled smoky despite the strong coverup smells. The air conditioning is all window units. We left rather than staying because of the smell. The owner refunded the cleaning fee, which we appreciated.

Great property

Highly recommend! Super cute home - bedrooms were spacious, mattresses were comfortable, extra towels were on hand... can’t say enough positive things. Host was very communicative and had a very sweet welcome basket upon arrival. If you’re on the fence, just do it. You won’t be sorry.
