Beachfront Sunsets on the Water at Oakwood Beach

You’ll instantly relax when you arrive at this private beachfront home on the beautiful Delaware River (2020 River of the year!). This hidden gem is off the beaten path, making it perfect for you to escape the hustle and bustle of your busy day-to-day. You’ll love the amazing sunsets and water fun — walk out the backdoor directly onto the large deck and sandy beach.

The space:

The home has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths including a first floor, large bedroom with ensuite.

Easy access road with little traffic. Parking for 5 cars (1 in front driveway, 4 in our private parking across the street). Sleeps 11 with 6 beds (3 convertibles).

Walk out the door and onto the quiet beach, sit by the water, walk along the shore, go for a swim or enjoy water activities you love!

Our house is now equipped with Solar Panels which generally supply 100% of the needed energy demand.

Salem County is a rural agricultural area, not your typical Jersey shore experience. There aren’t bars or many stores, but you’ll see plenty of farm stands on your way to town filled with Jersey produce.

Most residents live on this is quiet beach year-round, so please be respectful, especially with your noise level. No parties are permitted. Quiet hours 10pm-8am.

Mid stay cleaning can be easily arranged per your preference. Please let us know.

The beach is beautiful and the water is great for swimming or water sports; however, there are no lifeguards: use of the beach and other outside areas are at renter's own risk (host is not responsible for any injury as such).

Note that there is a video doorbell and a security camera facing the back deck that record video when motion is detected 24/7.

There are noise monitor devices inside and outside of the property made by Minut. They only detect noise in decibels and do not record conversations.

Great Beach Vacation

Awesome place to stay

Hosts couldn’t have been better. Communication excellent. The place was clean and the house was beautiful. Everything you need is in the home including flip flops for the beach!! Neighbors are nice and neighborhood is quiet. Fire pit in the beach made the stay special. Highly recommend you stay here!!

My family and I had a wonder time at this house Labor day weekend. The house was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful sunsets off the back deck. We used the firepit on the beach almost every night. We enjoyed the Shipyard for drinks and music we rented a firepit here .Would highly recommend.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

A perfect spot to celebrate a family birthday.... convienent for our kids who were coming from DC and PA. The house was perfect, right on the beach and had all of the amenities we could want. Highly recommend this lovely home.

This is the second year that my wife and I joined my daughter's family at this house. We chose it for its location on the river and it having a beach. We brought a small sailboat with us and had a great time on the river and the beach. The layout suited our needs with a downstairs master bedroom. We attended the Cow Town rodeo on Saturday night and enjoyed it. The host maintained good communication via the app. We would recommend this as a great place to stay for a good time on the water.

Our family spent Thanksgiving at this property. It was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of areas for everyone to have their own quiet time. The weather was chilly, but the views from the panoramic sliding glass doors made it feel as though we were sitting out on the beach all week. The house is stocked with two pairs of binoculars, which were snatched up and passed around every time a ship passed by (often)! John & Jahneva were helpful and communicative hosts. They made traveling with our extended family painless. Hauling a toddler, dog, and two sets of grandparents rarely goes off without a hitch, but they made it easy. The house is stocked with everything we could have needed for our toddler. The neighborhood is welcoming and walkable.

Best Sunsets

The home owners did a great job of having everything you would need for stay at the beach. The beach was quiet and accessible from the back yard. There was a spot in the house for every family member to hang out and enjoy time relaxing. The sunsets were just stunning. Great panaramic view from the living room.

Our stay at Oakwood Beach exceeded our expectations! Communications with the host, John, were all positive. The information packet was helpful. When we had one question concerning the operation of the outdoor fireplace, John promptly gave us help. The beach area had the feel and sound of the ocean. We took many pleasant walks on the beach. The house was very clean and there were many small touches such as toiletries, flip flops, sunscreen, etc that indicates the effort by the hosts to provide a pleasant experience. Perhaps the highest praise we can give is that even before our visit was over, we knew we wanted to come back again!

Beautiful location!!

We had an absolutely amazing time spending our family vacation here! With many small children, the bay side water without big waves was PERFECT for our young swimmers and made sitting on the beach much more relaxing for us parents. The sunset views are incredible, and all of the extra water sports gear (paddle boards, kayaks, floats, etc) provided plenty for everyone to do! The neighborhood was VERY quiet, and we typically only saw 1-2 other people out on the beach. Owners were very responsive, very quickly fixed a small issue we had with the TV, and included more extra amenities than I have ever had at a rental (including snacks, beach sandals, extra toiletry items that may have been forgotten, toys, books, games, etc). We definitely hope to return again soon!

They thought of everything!

I have rented many vacation houses over the years and this is undoubtedly the best equipped house I have ever rented. Our group included two 2 year olds and there were many provisions for them, including a life jacket. We had a couple of minor blips that were quickly responded to by John. The house and easy communication made for a wonderful family vacation.

Family Time

Our family had a wonderful weekend all under one roof…every parents dream once your children become adults. The house was perfect for us…6 adults, our 2 year old granddaughter and a little dog. A surprising gem of a house and location

This exceeded our expectations in every way. A beautiful view, a well=appointed house, and a lovely location. This stretch of beach on the Delaware River is one of NJ's best kept secrets, so it's with a heavy heart that I give such an enthusiastic review. The eight of us could not have had a better stay here over a sunny Thanksgiving week.

Adorable waterfront house

My family and I rented this property for our daughter's University of Delaware graduation week. We knew it was 40 minutes from campus but wanted a nice place for our family to stay while we were in town. The house is spotless. Cutely decorated. The set up of the house is spacious but cozy at the same time. The hosts were easy and nice to communicate with. They honestly thought of everything, from coffee pods, bag of ice in the freezer, phone chargers, you name it, they had it.

Arriving there is a quiet neighborhood feel … and then there’s the back side … like a condo on the beach vibe . Beautiful sunrise and sunsets . The house was very updated and classy . House was comfortable for 8 adults and 3 small children . The host was Amazing always responding immediately to my every question and concerns.

Amazing view! Beautiful home!

We had a girls weekend here & it was fabulous! Very clean, spacious, comfortable home. Watched the sunset every evening. Owner supplied lots of snacks, every bathroom/toiletry imaginable, flip flops, plenty of towels & outdoor & beach chairs. Comfortable beds, plenty of bath towels. All in all a perfect stay. Owner very responsive to questions. Very private for beach home. Highly recommend!
