Great Place! owner very responsive. Before check in date he emailed all the details of checkin/checkout along with area dining and so many tips for the slopes! Will definitely be back.
This rental is absolutely perfect. We walked about 30 steps and we were on the slopes. 2 lifts are seen from the balcony. Nice and cleans. Well stocked. Fireplace was nice to have. All restaurants are right outside your door. I will be renting again when we go back to snowshoe.
We had a great 2-night stay for our first overnight trip to Snowshoe. The location was perfect. The listing was exactly as described and the communication with the host was very clear. Will definitely book again!
Right off the slopes. Could see my kids coming off the lift from the room while waiting for ski school to end.

Great location, lifts across from room. Room is dated. Room wasn't ready because there was mixup with cleaning crew. But overall happy with cost and location.
We had several issues with the property over the weekend and the host was unresponsive and unhelpful.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 January 2023
This guest has given a rating based on her own expectations not reality. Her main complaint was that she expected a ski locker to be included with this room. Nowhere in the listing or in the 5 page confirmation I sent to her was this specified. I sent her a text and voice mail during her stay on this matter. Honestly, with a slope side unit, this is actually the first guest who ever has asked for this. It is far easier to store the gear on the back deck then go down to the basement to access a locker. She also felt like she was due other things above what is clearly laid out in the confirmation letter. I in no way misrepresented any aspect of this guest's stay and regarding communications, I did respond via text and voice mail during the first day of their stay. Some of her other expectations were not voiced to me until after she left so there was no way I would have been able to assist. Other issues with the property...they got stuck in the elevator and one of their keys did not work the last hour prior to checkout (provided by Snowshoe) - these were both out of my control. Please read other reviews and you can be the judge on the validity of this review.
Condo was as described. There are fancier or more updated places to stay, but the price was right and we were there to ski. So nice to have a fireplace in the unit and the first floor location was ideal - we put our skis over the porch railing to store and were able to hand them down in the morning to get skiing almost immediately. Locker for ski storage too (we used that when we came in for lunch one day with plans to take the shuttle to Silver Creek for the evening). Highland House location in the village is exactly what we wanted. We used the outdoor hot tub on the second floor of the building every night of our stay. The tv in the master bedroom wasn’t working and Martin responded to my email almost immediately. We will definitely book again if we return to Snowshoe - it was a great visit!

Great location - poor finishings
Where this location is premier. It truly is so close to the slopes and lifts, which we were really grateful for. Unfortunately, we showed up for check in at 4:00 PM and the room had not be cleaned. There dirty dishes in the sink, dirty towels and bed sheets thrown about, and food wrappers on the ground. The room also wrecked of cigarette smoke. I was disappointed because we rented this room for an anniversary ski trip. I contacted the Vrbo owner and they were responsive, but we had to leave our items in the room while their cleaning staff came to clean our space. Even after they left we found bottle caps and other food items left in the space that weren't removed. Overall I was disappointed with the lack of cleaning completed before we came into the space. Additionally, the tv in the bedroom was broken among other small misses - light bulbs out and such. Anyways, the location was great...but the space is dated and less clean than I would prefer.
Great location! Back door leads right to the top of Ballhooter Lift. Right next door to our favorite Snowshoe eateries and Starbucks steps away from the front entrance. The host was very responsive and friendly. Pro tip: order take out and enjoy dining in in front of the gas fireplace after a long day on the slopes. We didn't get a chance to hit the hot tub, but that sounds like a another great benefit of this lovely little one-bedroom.
Condo was super clean! It was stocked with everything we needed and was comfortable. We were pleased with the location and would definitely stay here again!
Good location in village, manager responds quickly with any needs, easy to ski in from lift. It would have been nice if highland house would keep the back door to slope clear for use.
Location ski in ski out was awesome! Littereraly 20 steps to the slopes and chairlifts- condo was well equipped will supplies for cooking dinner and restaurants next door- we took advantage of both! We will be back to rent again.
Thank you sincerely
Marvin
If you are visiting Snowshoe, then this is the place. The unit overlooks the mountain and the view is amazing. Loved the ease of walking out of the building, dropping the skis and heading down the mountain. After a long day of skiing you are centrally located in the village for access to all the stores, eateries and things to do. Recommend staying here
This place was great and exactly as advertised! Unloading/loading was a breeze with the underground tunnel and the rink was in great shape! Right in the heart of the village is always a plus!
Martin was easy to get in touch with. His listing was accurate and met expectations. Martin is definitely someone I would look to book with in the future.

Great location
We enjoyed the place and location! Wonderful accesses to everything.
Awesome access to everything and very family friendly!
Besides being IN the village, and walking distance to everything (including the shuttles), this unit is right behind the lift and had a great view of all the activity on the mountain and conditions. We appreciated how safe we felt there, and enjoyed the friendly people, both the Snowshoe staffers and other visitors. Our host Martin replied promptly to the few questions we did have along the way. * * * * * :)
I’ll start with the positive. Location, location, location. This is a ski-in, ski-out unit. The balcony is literally right in front of the lift to the bunny slope which is great for beginners. All you have to do is walk down the hall from this unit and you walk right onto the bunny slope. So if you’re looking for proximity to the slopes, this is the unit to rent. The coin operated washing machine and dryer are a few steps away from this unit as well which was very convenient. The day before we were scheduled to stay here we were contacted by the owner informing us the microwave wasn’t working and he wasn’t sure when the new microwave would arrive. We were already in route and had all of our groceries with us since several reviews of Snowshoe said dining in Snowshoe was difficult due to there being very large waits, the food was pricey and not very good for the price they charge. So we decided to cook and eat most of our meals in the unit. Not having a microwave made it very inconvenient for us. I told the owner this and asked if he could have the handyman bring a temporary microwave we can use while we’re there and he said he couldn’t. So that was a negative to start off the trip. Another thing that upset us was that we were very careful to bring everything we would need in the kitchen. The description of the unit said the unit would have coffee filters. This was stated twice. So I didn’t buy any to bring to Snowshoe. I don’t use coffee filters at home so it would have been something I would have to have bought special for the trip. I would have very easily done this had the description not mentioned that coffee filters would be there, twice. It was just an inconvenience of having to go out again to find filters which we would need first thing in the morning. Yes, there’s a Starbucks in the Village but there’s always long lines there, no matter where you are. Now let’s talk about the unit. There is no space to put any of your luggage anywhere. You will be living out of your suitcase the entire time which was very annoying. There are no dressers. There are about 10 hangers in the closets but that’s about it. The furniture is very old and uncomfortable. The couch was very uncomfortable and yes, it’s a pull-out sofa but my 11 and 8 year old complained about how uncomfortable it was.You could literally feel all the coils underneath. The balcony had 1 chair. It would have been nice to have at least 1 more chair and a little table to set a drink on.
We stay at Snowshoe frequently. This unit is well equipped, and is in a prime location. We had everything needed for our stay, enough cooking utensils, etc. The first floor is ideal. Furnishings are as expected for this price class and the room was clean and without issue.

Started with my first property at Snowshoe in 2006. Skiing is a passion and I am lucky to have a great ski slope within driving distance of my home in NC. I really enjoy helping others with their vacation plans and can provide a lot of information for any first-time visitors.
