The area is primarily residential with some small shops and restaurants. It is one of the most architecturally impressive neighborhoods with many of the houses from the early 1900s, which have been carefully preserved and restored. Modern homes were built as infill along canyon rims in the 1950s and 1960s. 🏘️
Mission Hills is highly sought after with its stately homes, quaint Craftsman bungalows and large mansions pristinely manicured on quiet streets. The business district is home to a variety of ethnic restaurants, buzzing shops, bustling pubs and convenient services. 🌆

We had a wonderful 4-night stay! The house was clean, cozy, beautiful view of the city and looked just like the photos. Check-in was easy with the clear instructions. We would happily stay here again! Jan N.
Truly an amazing first experience in San Diego! The home was beautiful! So clean, well maintained and perfect for our family of 5! Adam was in touch at all times and has made our check in and check out process flawless! We are so impressed! Will definitely come back again! Five stars for sure!
We had a wonderful stay at this Mission Hills Hideaway! The home was beautiful, cleanly, and more than enough space for our party of 6. Enjoyed the hot tub each night after our hikes and exploring San Diego. Loved seeing the hummingbirds off the balcony. Adam was very welcoming and communicative.
The location was a perfect distance from every tourist attraction. It’s a beautiful duplex and is very spacious. The host is very timely with responses and very helpful.
I was very impressed with house and how great the host was. Communication was easy and they made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay. The beds were so comfortable and the master shower was awesome. I especially appreciated the little touches here and there that made our stay even better. The house was well stocked with everything needed to cook or grill, even seasonings. The porch was fantastic to be out on with a cup of coffee in the mornings. Old Town is right there and easy to get to. The location is pretty central to everywhere in San Diego. I would 100% stay here again.
Our 3rd trip to SAN and by far our favorite place yet. The home was clean and with the exception of the hot tub, everything was in working order. We were notified in advance that the hot tub was down and it was not a concern for us. The location is very close to Old Town and the airport. The host is easy to communicate with and responds quickly to questions. While not needed, I feel positive should any concerns need to be addressed while on property, they will be handled promptly. The balcony is large and the large patio doors that completely open are a major plus! There is another property above and their balcony overlooks yours however, there is enough overhang that you do get some privacy. You are in the city...and close to a highway and airport so there is noise. If you're an aviation buff this place is perfect for spotting. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the entire process from booking to checkout.
The apartment was very nice and clean. There is a nice view also. The communication with the host and the check-in were excellent. There is no dedicated parking but you can park on the street and there are plenty of spaces. It is also free. There is AC in the apartment, You need to turn it on when you arrive and after a couple of hours, you can feel the difference. The apartment is also equipped with different things for the beach. There are also card decks and poker chips. Concerning the beds, one room is equipped with 2 double bunk beds (so 4 mattresses), 2 showers and one toilet. Very nice if you are a lot. The other room has one king bed with a dedicated bathroom (toilet and shower). The only downside is that the mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced. It was very not comfortable. Beside that, everything was great.
Host was very friendly and the house was beautiful
The host was very friendly and the house was beautiful. The host was very accommodating to have us last minute after our other VRBO host cancelled on use 4 days prior to our trip.
Lovely home. Check in and out was simple and straight forward. Host was extremely communicative throughout and I had clear answers to questions along the way. The view was wonderful, area was quiet. The finishes throughout the home were clean and have a high end feel. The drive up to the house was very steep, and was helpful to go down the street and take the more gradual approach just a few streets down. You could see the ocean and we watched cruise ships and helicopters off in the distance, along with a steady stream of airline takeoffs throughout the day. The cushions on the patio furniture had a scratchy, itchy texture, so we put some towels down before using them. We didn't watch much tv, so not sure how many roku options there were without needing a signin, etc. The window wall was easy to operate, but the door was a little tricky to lock / unlock. Overall would stay here again and recommend to anyone.
The location of this property is amazing. We were planning a family trip to seaworld/mission beach/San Diego zoo and all locations were within 8 mins of the property. The unit is beautiful with modern decor. The kids loved watching the airplanes take off. Overall was great. There were only a couple cons to this unit.
This unit is on the bottom level and you can hear everyone walking around upstairs. The upstairs tendants were just walking nothing crazy and you can hear it all day long. Especially at night when trying to sleep. This happened every night. When we first arrived we had problems with the AC unit but communication was delayed and we finally figured it out on our own. The owner texted us and apologized for the new team that was in charge with communications. The owner is very nice.
Hopefully you don’t plan on needing much internet when your there because the signal is weak. They give you the Wi-Fi password but everyone still struggled to get the internet to work and dropped often.
Lastly the master bed is terrible. We didn’t sleep well at all. The bed frame has no support and the mattress is way too firm. Overall it was a beautiful place and with some minor changes it could be even better.
The hat tub not working and they let me know in the last moment the dishwasher don’t work and on top of everything there is people living on top on you on the first floor noise from 6 o’clock in the morning. You feel like elephant walk on your head, terrible experience not to recommend recommended all.
Great property! Host is very responsive. I would highly recommend. One thing to note is that there is only street parking for the property. Most of the time that was not a problem. Just some information for people that may be helpful.
