The house was perfectly located for a weekend visit to celebrate hubby's parents' 73rd wedding anniversary. Two beds and two baths made it perfect so twin brother and his wife could join us. Having the kitchen gave us the opportunity to have a nice dinner for the folks. Nice size living area and a table for six gave us space to play games and watch football🙂. Owner responded quickly to any message sent to her. Hoping we'll have access if we go back for any other celebrations with the folks. Thanks for the stay!
Very nice home - that could be so much better with a couple of simple improvements for the traveller:
- more coffee cups (currently only 2 in the whole place)
- hangers in the closets (currently there were none)
- cut the grass in the backyard
- straighten up the firepit so it is useable
- buy a couple of simple outdoor chairs to allow guests to enjoy backyard
Please consider these simple improvements --- otherwise great place to stay.
The Property owners are turning this into a great place to stay. We have stayed twice in a two months and they are working hard to make it a perfect place to stay. Thanks Ellie, We will be back.
This rental has the potential to be great. However, the kitchen was lacking a lot of the basic supplies such as coffee cups, kitchen towels, and a colander. Also, the place was very dirty. The light fixtures and ceiling fans were all very dusty and covered in cobwebs.the carpets were dirty. The master bathroom had a used toilet cleaning brush laying on the floor. The kitchen floor had dirt and dead bugs and the chairs in the dining area were dirty and had dead bugs on them. We didn’t have enough towels and washcloths for everyone in our group. The yard was so overgrown we couldn’t use the outdoor space. The patio had water bottles full of cigarette butts laying all over. The size of the rental is great. With some cleaning and basic maintenance this place could be good.
We had a great time. We were a little worried at first seemed like a strange location for a vacation rental. It turned out to be a friendly and quiet neighborhood. Give this place a chance. We ended up loving it. The host was also great. Thanks for letting us stay. We hope we can come back.
Easy check in. I feel you need to invest in coffee cups, I drank coffee out of glasses. Wish you had chairs to sit on patio. The place could have been a little cleaner. Toilet not flushing well.
It worked for me but if you want more happy renters, I would try to make it more a home.
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood outside of town. Roomy place, fairly well kept up. Sparsely furnished. Backyard a bit scrappy looking. Good beds, average kitchen amenities, bathrooms okay (we needed a non-existent plunger)
We came to the area to run a half marathon and do some hiking with our dog. At first my search results only showed Heritage Harbor, which started at $235/night. I decided to hold off and am so glad I did as this place came up a month later at half the price! I was hesitant to book it, as it didn’t have any reviews, but decided to take a chance. I’m so glad I did! Located in a quiet neighborhood between Marseilles and Seneca, this place was perfect for us! With a huge, comfortable sectional couch, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, we had more than enough room to stretch out. The master bed was so comfortable as were the pillows. Top that with the tree frogs singing at night and a well working a/c, we slept like babies! Although it’s a bit of a drive to get to restaurants, grocery stores, parks, etc., we found the quiet location worth it! We hope to come back to do more hiking and exploring! Ellie the host was communicative and helpful, too!
