Host was very welcoming, and easy to communicate with. All the amenities are exactly as described and pictured. Reserved for an Oryx hunt and was very happy with the home and area.
This house is very clean and has a good set up for privacy. Each room was pretty much sound proof and separated from each other with nice common areas to gather. The whole place was quiet and gave a good respite for our group after working at a convention all day. We really enjoyed it.
Property was great. Comfortable beds and accomodations. Clean home and plenty of room. We were staying because of a orxy hint and were successful the 1st day so checked out early. If we get back to this area again would definitely stay here. Was a great host and highly recommend staying here.
Stayed while at White Sands MR. Location was perfect to get back and forth. Close to Restaurants in Socorro. Very spacious, well stocked with the little touched that make one feel at home.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. A highlight was eating breakfast and dinner out on the porch, watching the sun come up, and then down. The inside of the house was comfortable as well.
We stayed here for our Oryx hunt on the WSMR. It was deluxe. Very spacious for four people with separate bedrooms. It was incredibly clean and a good value. Would 100% recommend and stay again.
From start to finish everything was wonderful. House was as described, plenty of room to get together or to get apart!
Really enjoyed my stay and the host was great at communicating. Highly recommend!
We had an enjoyable birding weekend with family. This house makes a great base to explore then nearby NWRs and nature areas. The house was spotless and we appreciated the nice welcome package. The blue birds on the property were enjoyable to watch.
We used this as a base for exploring the area - Bosque del Apache, the Very Large Array, San Lorenzo Canyon. Also took some nice walks along the canal nearby. The home is very comfortable, with plenty of room for cooking, eating, relaxing. Highly recommend!
This property offered a truly impressive stay. The check-in and check-out were handled with ease, and communication with the owner was excellent. The private and secluded setting was a significant and welcome surprise within this region. I highly "This property offered a truly impressive stay. Everyone loved the place. Plenty of room at the dining table for five people. Beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was generally well stocked. No problem at check in and we were allowed in 1 hour early without even asking. Very prompt response to any questions.
We saw herons, sandhill cranes flying overhead, two roadrunners, and two turkeys one of which photographed very well. Also saw a javelina when we were at Bosque del Apache. Extremely quiet place except for an occasional train horn, but the train was far away and never disturbed our sleep.
Limitations which were not a concern for us but might be for others: internet was slow and sometimes stopped working. No ability to stream Netflix.
There was only one small con for our party. The three-quart stock pot was not large enough to easily cook some of our meals, although we did manage. Would recommend a 4 quart stock pot and for larger groups a 6 qt stock pot.
Would we stay here again in the future? absolutely!!
We needed to house our team of four (one hunter plus three spotters/drivers) for our Oryx hunt. This rental was fantastic. Everyone had a nice bedroom, and there were three full baths. After a long day on the hunt, this was a very welcoming and comfortable place to unwind and prepare for the next (and successful) hunt. Very nice kitchen, dining room and living area. We came prepared with food for the stay and found the kitchen a pleasure. The host had prepared a basked of fresh fruit (bananas, oranges and apples), bagels, and assorted goodies in the fridge. Well beyond the norm. A great place to return after long days out in the cold. Master bath didn't have very much hot water for some reason. Two on-demand hot water systems seemed to work, but one didn't put out any hot water, although it came on when the taps were opened. Two backup baths were good, so this was a minor inconvenience. Owner was very helpful (we locked ourselves out with the electronic front door lock - our fault. She responded within minutes of reaching her on the Ring doorbell. We'll certainly use this home next year of we're lucky enough to be drawn again for this hunt.
We just loved this home! It is large with a lot of space in the kitchen, dining and living rooms. It had everything we needed! And the food provided was great. The rooms are big & far apart for lots of privacy. The hosts were fantastic and easy to communicate with. We will stay here again!
We loved our stay at the farmhouse. It’s so spacious but cozy at the same time. Everyone had plenty of privacy if they wanted it but we also had the big communal kitchen dining area where we could cook and eat together. Great big table in the dining room to hang out. The patio is a really nice place to relax. Everything was nice and there were so many thoughtful touches. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
This house was perfect for our large family to gather, cook, visit, and rest! It is large, open, and spacious but with privacy. It was extremely neat and clean and the hostess was helpful and communication was great!
We would definitely recommend!!
House is immaculate. Hosts live on same street and arrive within 5 minutes when we locked ourselves
Many personal touches by host including breakfast food for first day (coffee , tea, OJ, fruit and oatmeal). Appreciated the disposable take out mugs for coffee/tea on the go. Mulberry tree on property attracted lots of beautiful birds so we were able to bird from the shaded front porch. Sunsets were spectacular. Great views of strawberry and magnolia mountains. All in all highly recommended. Also close to several wildlife refuges (Basque del Apache and Sevilleta).
A great place to stay on our journey through NM while birding. The house was very clean, and all of the furnishings, appliances, bathrooms, and kitchen seemed newly done. Elaine, the host, was very helpful and provided some food and drink for our first morning in the house.
