Beautiful Property, Fantastic Staff

We had a wonderful time here! The house is beautiful, even better than the pics! It is kept very clean throughout your stay. The staff was so kind and helpful! The beach is beautiful, water is so warm, and just a short walk down from the house there is a sandier ocean floor with a little less grass. We rented ATV’s that could be driven on the little dirt road behind the house next to the beach. This is a wonderfully, relaxing place stay and hang out, inside or out by the pool or beach. Thank you for a great vacation!

the staff were helpful and nice, the house is beautiful and clean. walking distance to beach. neighbors (local people visiting the beach close by) are a bit noisy with loud music. but overall we had a great time. thank you

If traveling to the DR, this is the house!

The house was better in person, and spectacular at so many levels. We've rented over 50+ VRBO homes over the years, and this has to be in the top 3. This is the first time we had a house that came with a staff. The meals were amazing. We didn't even need to go to the grocery store, everything was done for us. Never had to step foot into the kitchen. The house either smelled of great cooking, or smelled clean while someone was constantly sweeping and mopping the floors. Simon and his crew provided us with a double wow. I was a bit nervous renting, as there were just a few reviews on VRBO. Don't be afraid, this one is a keeper for sure. It's the real deal. Only tip, make sure you bring a lot of DR currency. When Simon purchases the groceries, cash is needed to repay. We weren't prepared for that, and were making daily trips to the ATM. Thank you Villa Manglar! You won't regret renting this place!

Better than Expected

We can't say enough good things about this property. 5 bedrooms all with en suite beautiful bathrooms. The pool, landscaping, staff were all amazing. Wanda and Ariel are always on site if you need anything, they live in a small home at the front of the property. Millagra is a beautiful sweet addition to the staff, helps with cleaning and keeps the house impeccably clean. Our biggest issue was the language barrier. Our limited Spanish and the staff's limited English made it hard to have conversations but google translate worked great. The beach is something out of a magazine. I was expecting the mangrove trees in the ocean right behind the house to be more of an issue but they were actually quite beautiful and you could still walk through them out into the ocean. A five minute walk took us to a beautiful beach without mangroves or people!! Honestly we hardly saw anyone on our trip. There is a resort down the beach quite a ways and people will walk by, they all take pictures of the house as it is quite stunning. The weekends are much more busy and loud, the locals all come to the beach and the road to get there runs right next to the house. Be prepared for lots of motorcycles and people that are local but the weekday is very quiet. 10 stars all around. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We traveled from Montana and left a very cold/snowy winter. The warmth and beauty of the area was just what we needed. Also, the air conditioning units in each bedroom were perfect!!

Nondisclosure of Construction Next Door is Fraud

The Very Good: The home, facilities, grounds and views are spectacular - exactly as described. The beach is visible from the home - just a short walk through a palm grove. The staff is superb. All of this accounts for the steep price charged - which I gladly committed to pay. The Unforgivably Bad: WE WERE NOT TOLD that the property next door, literally abutting this house, is under construction. From 9 to 5 on 4 of the 5 days we were there, we heard NONSTOP, LOUD banging, clanging, power saws, worker chatter, etc. On one day a 4-inch nail fell onto the property, right next to my daughter who was sitting at the pool! The construction workers were working on the side abutting our house, above us, looking directly into our grounds, denying us any privacy. We had to walk 50 yards down the beach to get away from the constant invasive noise. When contacted, the owner insisted the situation was out of her control. To assuage our rage, she offered free massages (a few accepted) and an excursion far away from the very place we came to be at (no thanks). Simply put, the owner accepted no genuine accountability for what happened to us. It was incumbent on her to tell us BEFORE WE ARRIVED that what she sold us - a peaceful stay in a bucolic setting - was simply not available during this week, and then to offer us a refund or credit for another week. She did neither. From my perspective, we were subjected to bad business practices, if not plain fraud. Pam Sloan NYC

❤️ A True Dominican Experience ❤️

My family and I splurged and rented this home for the week. THe BEST decision I’ve ever made. From the moment of inquiring about the rental to the day we left, everything was perfect. Nathalia was a wonderful host and answered all of my questions before and during the trip with promptness. We never felt not looked after or cared for. She arranged for her driver, Melvin, to transfer us for arrival and departure - very seamless even when we missed our flight there and had to fly into an airport 2 hours away. They handled it with grace. Once we arrived at the house, we were blown away with smiles and beauty. Nathalia was there to greet us and DeLady showed us around the home and answered any questions we had. Simon, our Chef, had our arrival dinner ready and we were able to sit and eat immediately. We were all starving from the long trip, so this was PERFECT! Wanda, our housekeeper, was amazing. She has the Kindest Soul! Our laundry has never smelled so fresh!! Ariel, the groundskeeper/security during the day, amazing as well - he has such a gentle, kind demeanor. Wanda and Ariel both loved our children like their own. Ariel for sure did not let my youngest boy (3) out of his sight. They became best buds!💙. On our 1st day, we stayed in and rested and Melvin, the driver, arranged our excursions for the week. We did 3 days of excursions with rest days in between. Ricky was our personal driver/guide for all excursions. He took care of every little detail - down to the meals. He would call ahead of where we were going to make sure our meals were ready when we arrived. We never had to wonder about a thing! Top notch service - he also became our friend. But the trip isn’t complete without our chef, Simon. He bonded with our oldest son (13) even though he was sweet with our little one as well. Having our meals prepared and never having to wonder a thing really made the trip - especially on the excursion days when we came in late and our dinner was ready. Each day, we would discuss meal times and what we wanted to eat. Lastly, our nighttime security guards - Senior securidado and Jimmy. We’ve never felt so safe in our life. They watched us and our children very closely, even though the area as a whole was safe. The attention to us was so caring. Everyone who cared for us, felt like family by the time we left. It was an adventure of a lifetime and memories we will forever be thankful for. Thank you, Villa Manglar!

IMPRESSED!!!! AMAZING!!! STUNNING!!! This property is absolutely stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. Not a single detail of beauty missed in the decor. The owners of the property outdid themselves and we had the honor of directly thanking them for sharing their property with our family. The staff is magnificent!! Simon, Samuel, Wanda, Milagros, Ariel and Jesus made us feel like kings, queens and princesses. This is our second time in Las Terrenas and it just gets better and better. Beautiful town and beautiful people. There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches behind the property line to the right and left of the house. I will note that the beach right behind the house is full of mangroves and even though it is accessible for swimming it wasn't my taste. We would just take a nice walk of approximately 5 minutes to the right or left of the house and you would find the most beautiful beaches ever. I highly recommend this property, their staff and Las Terrenas! Thank you all for an unforgettable and amazing family vacation! We will definitely be coming back!!

Amazing experience

I rented this house for 4 nights and invited some of my closest friends to a retreat in Samana. After spending the first night in SD, we had a bus transport us to Samana, it is a long drive from SD yet a pleasant one. I am a GM at a large beach resort and had very high expectations for me and for my guests. The moment we arrived to the house, everyone was impressed with the beautiful location and exquisite décor. We were received by the staff who had proactively prepared food for us since they knew we were coming from a long trip. Simon, the Chef is absolutely wonderful and had a delicious meal ready. Wanda and Ariel, they live in-house and take care of the house, were also on site as well as Rosana who helps them with their day-to-day chores. The four of them made our getaway a very special and memorable experience. The house is beautiful and direct access to the beach. We were able to get away from work related stress and relax by the pool/beach every day. Areas of opportunities, electricity went out more than once and only fans were powered by battery system, internet is not very reliable, pool was very cold despite we had very sunny days. Keep in mind the house is isolated from other houses and Samana town, you will need to either rent a car or get a local chauffeur (as we did) to get around for groceries or to visit other nearby beaches. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would love to come back soon. If you are looking to go way and be pampered all day, this is the house for you, I highly recommend it! Gracias Simon, Ariel, Wanda and Rosana por el buen servicio y por hacernos sentir como en casa, hasta pronto, Abrazos!!
