Cute self contained Jamaican cabin with fully equipped kitchen, private verandah looking out on a lush tropical garden. Walking distance to the world famous Winifred eco beach and blue lagoon. Situated on the side of a rainforest covered mountain side, but close to all the attractions that beautiful Portland has to offer. Safe and secluded, close to nature- this is a place you can really experience Jamaica by living with the locals far away from all inclusives and hectic tourist hot spots.

If you want to truly discover Jamaica

I had a wonderful time at Janet and Cleveland's place. They were amazing and caring hosts to me. They were always available to show me the best places around Port Antonio and its beautiful surroundings... The localization of the cabin is simply perfect. Part of the Zion Hill community, you can walk in the morning to some of the best beaches you can dream of (Blue Lagoon, Winnifred Beach). Local communities manage some of these Beaches in a very sustainable way (socially and ecologically). The Portland Parish is one of the most preserved areas in Jamaica, and the nature is simply stunning. The cabin itself is a very clean, cozy, and well-tough building (room, bathroom, kitchen), in a beautiful garden. You'll find all the commodities you'll need in a space open to nature : the best place for a retreat. Cleveland is a well-experienced guide who can help you to discover the lagoon, and the coral reefs, as well as the best parties and sound systems in town! The hosts offer delicious meals that are : well-priced, locally sourced, and homemade. If you want to truly discover Jamaica in an authentic and lively way : this is the place !

Born and raised in the Blue Mountains by the side of the Rio grande, I am an experienced tour guide. I started out on the rafts (banana boats) up in the mountains as a young man, and really enjoyed interacting with visitors and learning about the wider world. I am a keen cook and can prepare traditional authentic Jamaican meals over an open fire using local ingredients. My garden has many fruit trees and I love the natural. healthy life which I am excited to share with you.

Why they chose this property

If you want to experience the real Jamaica, close to nature then this is your place. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We are situated in an ideal position, on a quiet rural lane, but walking distance to the main road and transport. The famous blue lagoon and Winifred beaches are walking distance away. Frenchs Cove and the surf beach of Boston are a few minutes drive away. There is plenty of opportunity to sample Reggae music at live local DJ events and dances. I am available for tours locally or more distant.

What makes this property unique

Fully self contained, quiet, private and peaceful. Surrounded by greenery, fruit trees and birds, but right in the middle of the best part of Portland.
