About this property

Tiny House Near Downtown Astoria

Brand new boutique cottage nestled behind a historic 19th century property in the heart of Astoria's Uppertown District. Located just off the Riverwalk, enjoy beautiful sunset walks along Mill Pond and the waterfront. Designated parking at the Firehouse Museum and ample street parking. Conveniently located next to Tranquil River Day Spa (https://www.tranquilriverdayspa.com/) for your relaxation needs and steps to restaurants, museums, shopping, entertainment, and a short distance to panoramic views from the Astoria Column. Take in all the natural beauty and adventure Astoria has to offer.

This 288 sq. ft. studio is stylishly decorated and very comfortable with a queen size daybed, stocked kitchenette, smart TV, Wi-Fi and a floating wood countertop for dining, working or hanging out. It has a new mini split air conditioner with heat pump to keep you comfortable year round. The large bathroom has a brand new large tiled shower with a mural. The entrance draws you along a potted garden filled with bamboo, vines and ferns leading to a lovely shared covered deck area with seating and a fountain where you can unwind. The unit is through a gate and up a few stair steps from there with a cozy private deck, a café table and chairs.

In case you're new to the area here's a couple ideas for things to do around town:

Astoria Sunday Market (https://www.astoriasundaymarket.com/about): A combination of a farmer's and artist's market every Sunday downtown during the warmer months.

The Sea Crab House (https://theseacrabhouse.com): A local favorite for seafood.

Mo's (https://ilovemoschowder.com/mos-astoria): Another local favorite for seafood

Thai Me Up by Patta (https://www.thaimeuporder.com/): Good Thai food

Fort George Brewery (https://fortgeorgebrewery.com): Local brewery to unwind at after your northwest adventures, if you like IPAs try the Vortex.

Buoy Beer Company (https://www.buoybeer.com/): Another local brewery but this one is out on the pier.

The Astoria Column (https://astoriacolumn.org): For an incredible view stretching from Saddle Mountain to the Washington coast take some time to climb the column or hike to the area on one of the trails. FYI, a parking pass is $5.

Long Beach, WA (https://smalltownwashington.com/things-to-do-in-long-beach-wa/): Fly a kite, take a surfing lesson or just drive down the nearly 30 miles of beach until you find your perfect spot. This is roughly a 30 minute scenic drive from Astoria.

Bowpicker Fish & Chips (https://bowpicker.com/): I'm not a giant fan of fish & chips but I have friends who rave about this place.

Pelayo's Taqueria (https://www.facebook.com/taqueriapelayos/): A nearby taco truck with good food and good selection.

Hwy 101 (https://www.oregoncoasttravel.net/): The Oregon coast is very scenic all year long. Take a drive and explore some of our natural beauty and small coastal towns. A few places to check out are Seaside, Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, Oswald West State Park (the short hike to Short Sand Beach is nice).

Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area (https://myodfw.com/jewell-meadows-wildlife-area-visitors-guide): This is a little out of the way but it's a scenic drive and you are pretty much guaranteed to see a large herd of elk beside the road if you arrive near sunrise or sunset in the cooler months.

Fort Stevens State Park (https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=129): Check out an old ship wreck and enjoy a view of the ocean.

Beautiful & quiet

I absolutely loved this little rental! It was so comfortable, calm, quiet and stylish. It had everything you need plus more including an amazing shower and bathroom. The bed was very comfy and there were special touches like some snacks and even local beverages in the fridge! Would love to stay here again.

Cozy Getaway

Private, cozy, and tranquil spot convenient to downtown. The private and shared patios were a nice feature. The large bathroom with shower big enough for two was a definite plus.

Cozy Studio, Conveniently Located

This was a perfect, somewhat snug lodging perfect for our extended weekend exploration of Astoria. Clean, nicely appointed, and everything functioned according to description. Could have walked downtown, but chose to drive in. Parking was not a problem. Recommended!

Delightful tiny home

Just a cute place, beautifully decorated and very clean. It was so quiet felt very safe. Walking distance to downtown so we could park our camper across the street and walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was a 5 min walk to the river trailer. There is a trolly that runs along the river but we did not try it. There is no stove or oven, so cooking is not an option, but there is a small fridge and a microwave.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Overall, our stay was pleasant. If you plan on taking large luggage with you, don’t. There’s not really any space to spread out. The host was very responsive when we had an issue with the smoke alarm batteries going bad. I didn’t mind that the property was tucked away, but I feel like the directions on how to find it could be more detailed. The parking situation isn’t great, but the parking pass made things better. The mini split needed to be cleaned out. We found that if it was ran above 65, then it would produce a burning smell (dust) and it would set the smoke alarms off.

Cute tiny space

Cute little space, bathroom was huge and shower was nice, really close to everything you need in Astoria. My wife and I didnt care for the fact it was two doors down from a strip club, but that's hardly the owners fault, just the reality of the location.

Cute Little Studio Perfectly Situation for Astoria Adventures!

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was the perfect home base for walking all over town. A little smaller than we were expecting from the photos but not a problem. Great place to stay!

Honeymoon in Astoria

This studio was perfect for our travels in Astoria! Walking distance from many cute little shops and cafes. It was nice and quiet. The overall vibe of this VRBO was just so cute! It totally fit the vibe of this town and made our experience that much better. We highly recommend this spot for any groups of 2 wanting an intimate place to chill!

Small space/perfect getaway

This property was exactly what we pictured and needed for our stay. Enjoyed the location and ease of getting to/from. There is a local bar nearby and did experience some noise but was not bothersome. We will consider booking again when we travel to Astoria in the future.

Amazing property however noise strip-club

Love, love, love how charming this property is! Lots of little extras. Only down side is, is that it's 3 doors down from a strip club so the music at night is loud. Suggest being ear plugs or a fan to compensate. Still worth staying!

Beautifully designed and very comfortable!!

This lovely studio is such a cozy tucked away experience. Directions for getting in were perfect, the room heated up easily (it was cold and pouring!), gorgeous shower, comfy bed, lots of light, with many pretty details. We spent a day inside and didn't mind at all. As noted, there is only a microwave and small refrigerator, so real cooking is not an option. But there are lots of restaurants in town. Would definitely stay there again!

Cute and Cozy

This property was cozy and charming. Worked well for us as we slept comfortably and explored the coast during the day. Lovely decor! Wonderful bathroom! The only suggestion would be to decrease the number of throw pillows so that there is more room and consider replacing bed pillows. Thank you!

Hello, I'm a robotics engineer and the owner of this property since October of 2021. I've lived in Oregon for nearly 30 years and am attracted to the beauty of our coastal areas as well as the snowy mountains in the cascades.

Why they chose this property

The previous owners had an unparalleled amount of artistic flair which largely remains today. I continue to add wherever and whenever needed to make an interesting and enjoyable place to spend some time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, let me know if there's anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable.
