Welcome to La Posada Mountain Retreat

When you book a stay with us, you are not just booking a stay you are booking an experience of a lifetime. Our views are the ultimate best in all of Utuado. We are not like other stays, we offer VIP tours directly from the property making your stay that more special. All of our guests leave happy for a reason and we want you to be able to enjoy as much as possible and experience the best of what our town has to offer.

Your Stay is in a spacious 3 Bedroom 2 bath pristine house centrally located in the heart of Puerto Rico. If desired you can rent the lower unit a charming 1/1 unit. Together both units can comfortably sleeping up to 8-9 people. The house alone can comfortably sleep 6 persons. The elevation of the property is approximately1800ft up so the nights and mornings get very cool. You will feel right at home with features like Quiet seating areas, Full kitchen, Dining Room, Outdoor Patio Bar, and many more amenities to make your trip extra special.
*** Just added brand new heated Infinity pool overlooking the mountains and city below.
The house is located in the barrio of Roncador and it is within a short distance to the Indian Ceremonial Grounds, rivers, and waterfalls. Beaches and shopping outlets are located within 30 mins.

The space
The House features 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. The Large Cozy house features breathtaking Mountain View’s, a Smart TV with Satellite TV, A full Fridge with Freezer and a Stove/Oven. The apartment which is an additional price has a one bedroom one bathroom sleeps up to 2-3 with a pull out sofa and a mini kitchen .

Guests can enjoy the large patio areas or relax in the new heated pool. The covered porch has an outdoor bar seating space to enjoy the gorgeous views. The property is located on 3 acres with a garden you may pick fresh fruit from. Along with stables & peacocks, truly a beautiful spot.
A Great bed & breakfast home to enjoy the Puerto Rico weather all year long.

Best mountain get away!

Can not recommend this place enough. When you stay here you are not just getting a home to stay in…but an extended family that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and show you beautiful Utuado. I have never ever stayed in a vrbo that has gone so above and beyond. We will be back!!!

Excellent location up in the mountains!

Property was as expected based on the pictures. We really enjoyed spending time in the pool and hanging out on the deck. There were a number of farm animals just a few steps away that our daughter really enjoyed checking on and seeing every day.

Spectacular Views!

La Posada Mountain Retreat has spectacular views from the infinity pool. Give yourself time to get there on the windy roads way up in the mountains. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay!

Magical place to stay

We had the most amazing time at Jose and Christine’s house! The location was truly amazing., I can’t describe it in words and the photos can’t even do it justice ! They were such amazing hosts and were 100% available for any questions or advice . They even helped to organize a fishing outing with minimal notice for my son’s birthday. The house was perfectly maintained and everything you could need or expect was there. My family and I will remember our time there forever and we would love to return! Thank you so much!!

The view

The view was absolutely incredible! The drive up the mountain was also an experience in itself. Winding narrow roads but they open up in spots that would make a good photo op. However, we weren’t expecting anyone to be living at the property. But Jose and Christine were more than willing to send us Information about the area and things to do and places to go eat.

Puerto Rico Mountain Life

The La Posada Mountain Retreat is an apt name for this great property. The views are AMAZING! The amenities are awesome with a heated infinity-edge pool and hot tub. They even have another casita if you have more family visiting. Enjoy the comfortable mountain breeze at La Posada Mountain Retreat!

A few steps from heaven

The ride up the mountain to the retreat was an adventure in itself. Upon arriving and setting eyes on the property, we were awestruck by the sheer beauty. The experience surpassed our expectations. Three words describe ths property; amazing, amazing, and amazing.

Just awesome

The property itself is amazing. You could spend a few days just exploring the grounds and orchard. It's secluded enough where you can leave the world behind if you want to, but there is plenty do eat and do within a short drive. There is a fabulous bakery and also an amazing restaurant within a few minutes drive. The property owners and hosts, Jose and Christine, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They were always available to answer every silly question I had, and were invaluable in giving us guidance and insight that only a local would know. We felt we were leaving friends as we left the house on the last day, and are already talking about our return trip.

What an amazing place!!!

We were looking for a tranquil place with adventures and we have no regrets choosing this place. It has one of the most beautiful views of Utuado, the sunrise from there is unique!! The pool can be used even at night because it is heated. IWe went to Los Arcos river and the Morones river …wonderful! Jose gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit, all of them excellent. Christine and Jose make you feel like family. 100% recommended!

Absolute paradise!

Jose and Christine were wonderful hosts! Not only did they show us around several local rivers, bars, and restaurants, but we also felt fortunate they shared their slice of paradise with us. The views from this place (and from the infinity pool!) were to die for. We were able to visit their peacocks and horses alongside the house. They shared so much rich history about PR as well, which definitely enriched our first visit to PR. This mountain retreat (and it's hosts) were the highlight of our trip, which included Old San Juan and Rincón. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We came as renters but left as friends.😊

Mountain Paradise

Jose and Christine are amazing, they go above and beyond to make sure you have the ultimate experience. The location itself has everything you need and whatever it doesn’t, Jose can get it worked out for you. It is a one stop shop. We hope to stay again on our next trip to Puerto Rico. If you’re a city princess, this may not be for you. But if you’re an individual that wants to experience life away from the everyday hustle and bustle this is it.

A Peaceful Retreat with Beautiful Views and Great Potential

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful mountain retreat. The journey to the property involves some winding roads, but the breathtaking views upon arrival made it worthwhile. The natural surroundings and vibrant flora provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation.Our sons were thrilled with the horseback riding experience, and we appreciated the advance notice regarding the need for prior riding experience. The hosts, Jose and Christine, are actively enhancing the property, including developing the stables and surrounding area.The heated outdoor pool offered a relaxing way to unwind while taking in the scenery. Inside, the spacious layout, pool table, and well-stocked kitchen added to our comfort.While the kitchen and bathrooms are functional, they could benefit from some updates. Additionally, the twin bedroom had some clutter in the closet, and the mattresses were less comfortable than expected.Overall, we had a wonderful time and believe that with continued updates and organization, this property will become an even more exceptional place to relax and enjoy nature!

Majestic Views and Great Hosts

I recently stayed at Jose and Christina's property with my wife and our daughter and the pictures don't do justice to this beautiful mountaintop home. We each had our favorites which I will quickly rundown. For me it was the spectacular views especially the sunrises and the peacefulness. For my wife, Michele, it was was trotting through the mountains on Sanje, a beautiful white horse. Cynthia, our daughter loved hanging in the hot tub or relaxing in the hammock. I have stayed at many excellent properties around the world, but I can say unequivocally that this was my favourite. As another reviewer/guest said, if you are thinking about booking this property, do it! The house and surrounding area are gorgeous but what makes this property great is Christina and Jose. They are super hosts, making us feel welcomed the moment we arrived. We definitely plan on staying with them again.

An adventure getaway of a lifetime

Our family had an incredible time and experience at Jose and Christine’s beautiful home. For the property itself, we enjoyed the breathtaking views, relaxing pool, and animals. For adventures and excursions in Utuado, we were blessed with Jose and Christine’s in depth knowledge and love of the island, access to some of the most amazing hikes, caves, waterfalls, and swimming holes, and our girls were over the moon with the experience of horseback riding with Jose through the mountains. It was clear that our safety, comfort, and enjoyment were taken into primary consideration when planning and guiding us on the offered tours. They made everything comfortable and it felt like a partnership. We will never forget these times, and will always have the photos and videos to go back to, thanks to Jose and the GoPro footage he offered to capture. Christine is a complete badass, and Jose is so much fun to be around. Highly recommend if you are looking for both relaxation, natural beauty at every turn, and as much adventure as your heart seeks. We are so appreciative of the memories and experiences we had.

Incredible views and even more incredible hosts who are the definition of the word hospitality. Jose and Christine went above and beyond to make our experience in Utuado special for our family. Wonderful property for our family with ample space and amenities both inside and out. We enjoyed spending our afternoons and evenings on the porch taking in the peace and serenity of the mountains after spending our mornings out on excursions. The tour they personally conducted for us was amazing at showing us some hidden gems and seeing the real Puerto Rico!

Beautiful and unique location

We had an amazing time here! Incredible location, and the very friendly and helpful hosts provided clear directions for finding the house and checking in. The pool was great, the various patios were relaxing, and the view is indescribable. Absolutely the best way to really experience the heart of PR!

After spending a few days in old San Juan, we wanted to truly see the heart of the island in the second half of our trip…staying with a Christine and Jose was the perfect way to do so. The property is just as listed, only you cannot see the extent of the beauty in pictures only. Just unreal… We did an awesome river and cave tour with Jose and Christine and were introduced to locals and felt very comfortable in Utuado. I was a bit intimidated by the mountain roads, but my husband caught on in a day or so and actually loved driving - much more fun than Ohio farmland drives, lol. Best advice - make yourself at home, and don’t be afraid to explore! Jose and Christine have your back if you have any problems or questions. Our kids can’t wait to come back to PR, and next time, they want to skip San Juan! They also got to spend time with Jose and Christine’s son Cayden, and had a blast. La Posada was exactly what we were looking for on this trip, and more!

Amazing view from the pool!

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful when it come to finding the property. Excellent property felt right at home, plus cant stress enough the view from the pool and side patio area. The view of the valley in the mornings and afternoon are breathtaking. Will not be our last time booking here, they are adding a wine tasting bar on site thats being worked on now. Can't wait to come back and see it done. Owners were very respectful while our stay there, was very quite and peaceful. Thanks to the owners for sharing there awesome property.
