This cabin was beautiful! The area was gorgeous with many hiking trails super close to cabin. We actually cancelled a planned day trip so that we could spend more time around the cabin. Sitting by the fire pit and listening to the stream just a couple feet away in the evenings was magical. The WiFi is spotty, recommend taking screen shots of Google Maps for directions when in town for any planned day trips because you may not have wifi while at the cabin. We plan on returning at another time. Also the owner was always within reach through the message mode and prompt with responses.

Mountain escape

What a perfect stay! We really enjoyed the stay! The creek running through the property kept my kids entertained for hours! We hardly had a reason to be inside because the thick canopy of trees kept the weather just perfect for being out in nature. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on and I’m picky!

Our family loved playing in the stream. It was nice that it was right outside the cabin and very accessible. The hot tub that was on same level of the house which is convenient. Cabin had a nepresso machine (with extra pods), all the cookware you need, extra cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Owner was great to communicate with. Very responsive. Make sure you turn calling over WiFi as suggested by owner. Went to the mulberry gap and was pleasantly surprised they had firewood and a s’mores pack. Did horseback riding at cowgirl up, rubys falls, and blueridge train ride. Great time for our family!

The cabin was beautiful our only problem was no comunication with host about we are not having internet. Mr. Cameron already knew about this problem since monday. We arrived tuesday and we find out it wasn't any internet, not t.v. not land, no email. so we were incomunicated. Till next day Wednesday we had to go down to town to try to locate the host. He answer saying the repair will be that afternoon and didn't happen, thrusday we have to go down to town and try to comunicate with him and this time he never answer his phone, or his office, we have to call customer service from Vrbo. And finally the wife (miss Margaret) call the people to fix the internet.. so they came next morning(Friday) and they fixed..

Thanks for that review.. as you are aware this was 100% out of our control and we apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused. Yes internet was out at the cabin with a tree falling that pulled down the line somewhere along the road. We had been in contact with the internet provider 2 days prior to your stay with which they assured internet would be up and running shortly. I can apologize for the local internet provider being slow at repairing a downed internet line but it’s not like I could fix it myself or it would have been fixed the same day. Each day we called the internet provider during your stay for them to respond with “it’ll be fixed this afternoon”. After 4 days with that response they finally did in fact get it fixed. That said we talked at length 5 times throughout your stay specifically with updates on this. The one day I couldn’t answer your call, it was no less than 6 calls from you asking for a new update. I was hugging the toilet with a stomach virus and didn’t look at my phone for the day.. I won’t apologize for that. In our listing/check in book you have the contact for both my Wife and I in the event you can’t get ahold of one of us. Sorry for internet being the one downer on your cabin getaway vacation.

No outside lights. No help from host on that.No lights on porch rails, fire pit, stairs leading up to house, or walking bridge used to get to the stairs to the house. The house number is NOT visible from road. A light should be added to show the house number. A light is also needed on the stairs in the house. There were several close calls of falling from our seniors. Brighter lights need to be in each sleeping area as well as the stairs. We were required to wash towels and linen. The three sets of linen cannot all fit in the small washer so we were delayed in our departure time. It was very inconvenient. We were left with half a roll of paper towels for a four day stay. There was no salt or pepper. The pot and pans were old and worn. The dishwasher door was broken, there was no ice maker per se, and the refrigerator top was dusty and dirty. A lot of the pictures and other things attached to walls had dust hanging from them. Stove top was greasy. No hangers in closet. No closet in master. The cabin was exactly as described. Beds were comfortable and gas fire place was beautiful. The pillows were bad. WORSENED pillows EVER. House too close to neighbors. Luckily they were empty. The area was gorgeous, the leaves outstanding, and our trip is one to remember. Listening to the spring by the fire pit was a great experience.

While we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, this can’t be serious right? Or atleast that’s my first thought after reading this as a host. Complaining about not having salt and pepper, only one roll of paper towels provided, etc.. we aren’t an all-inclusive resort, we are a cabin on vrbo. We provide the essentials to get you started like dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, paper towels, and other toiletries. As for the outdoor lighting, we did look into this on your departure and determined the electrical circuit for the outdoor light had tripped and we do apologize for that minor inconvenience. Going on, you noted how great the cabin and location was. So I’m confused on the 2 stars here. We have a beautiful cabin here in an even more amazing location of the North Georgia mountains. Lastly on the towels we do ask each guest to “start” a load of laundry on departure. It we would never expect a guest to do all laundry themselves. This is also standard procedure with many vrbo’s in the area. Safe travels back home and please come in with the right expectations next time you stay in a vrbo.

We have always enjoyed the Ellijay area and consider it a second home to me and my family. With that in mind, we wanted to share our piece of paradise with each of you to hopefully enjoy the mountains and wildlife in the area as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

This particular property stole our hearts from day one. On any given day driving between the cabin and town, you will encounter deer, turkey, and other amazing wildlife. At the cabin itself, you are consumed by the natural world around you and can breath in the fresh mountain air or stick your feet in the refreshing Holly Creek waters running right in front of the house. It will not take you long to understand the beauty this property has in store for anyone looking for a private mountain getaway. With waterfalls all around the area and an amazing overlook barely 5 minutes from the house there is always an adventure awaiting at the Cozy Cohutta Cabin!
