We chose this house because of the property it was on - back in the woods with ponds and bridges; the genteel sensibility of its rooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces, and the wonderful kitchen with indoor grill for our pancake nation! It was loved by all our family who visited us for dinner or drinks.

Great house with great property!

This is a great house with a nice large yard and lots of privacy for a family. With four bedrooms, including two with two twin beds each, it was perfect for my family and my cousins family to get together and share a week under one roof.

Bridal house

It was perfect for the wedding weekend! The showers were not the best, and the light switches were very confusing, but nothing wrong with any of it!!! I would definitely rent this property again!!!

Family Gathering while at wedding

During our stay at this unique and spacious house, we truly appreciated the one-of-a-kind layout and generous room sizes, which provided plenty of space for relaxation and gathering. The distinctive character of the home added to its charm, offering an experience that felt different from typical accommodations. While the house could benefit from a few modern upgrades, this didn’t detract from its overall comfort and charm. The surrounding area was peaceful, and the property’s ample space made it ideal for group stays. With a little updating, this property has the potential to be truly exceptional.

Family Reunion

My wife and her brother were in town for a graduation ceremony. Another sister and her boys live in the area as well, so the large house was perfect for get togethers and dinners. The cost of this spacious property was the same as 2 hotel rooms, with much more room to spare. The house has all the amenities one would need. We had one problem(caused by us as it turned out), but Karl the property manager was out promptly to fix. Seeing wild turkeys and a deer family out the back door was a bonus.

We have stayed at this property several times over the years and generally enjoyed it, which is why our recent experience was disappointing. Jamie has always been professional, and despite prior maintenance issues, we chose to return because we had otherwise enjoyed the property.Unfortunately, several concerns persisted. A musty, mold-like odor has been present during multiple visits and has worsened over time. The HVAC vents were visibly dirty. Members of our group experienced allergies including those sensitive to mold. We also had recurring water issues. During our second-to-last visit, we arrived with almost no running water because the well had run dry, requiring a water truck to refill it. It was disappointing to encounter water issues again this year, forcing us to limit showers, laundry, and dishwasher use.Guests should also note that there is no door on the primary bedroom limiting privacy. After checkout, someone other than Jamie sought an additional 100 cleaning fee but would not provide details or documentation justifying the fee. The fee was ultimately withdrawn, but the communication was unnecessarily confrontational. The castle next door may also be confusing. The home contains wedding photos from Searles Castle and a bridal salon area. Our family walked along the path to the castle to see it with our children. We were surprised to be later reprimanded for doing so after check out. If the area is off limits, it should be clearly marked and communicated.

Rose, We are very sorry that you feel this way regarding your last visit with us. We work very hard to provide a safe and clean environment for our guests. I wish you had called me with these concerns so that they could have been addressed immediately. Based on my brief interaction with you or one of your quests I had in the driveway as you were departing, it appeared that your stay was a good one. Best regards Carl D. Harris Property Manager

Peaceful and simple

We had a great experience staying at Carl’s house. The location was perfect as it was right off the highway and located around a bunch of shopping areas. It was also right near Canobie Lake Park which worked out well for the kids. The rustic kitchen was really cool and using the griddle was fun for breakfast.

Amazing and Worth Every Penny!

We have family in the area and came in for a family wedding in Boston. We fell in love with everything about this house. We used all four bedrooms (the bottom floor master is superb, and the upstairs ones were plush!), and had tons of room. It is just huge! Everything is the highest quality — we used the kitchen daily, appreciated the nice washer and dryer, and walked the expansive grounds. In colder weather a campfire around the fire pit would be lovely. My entire family agreed it was the nicest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in and Carl is the best host ever - helpful, kind, friendly and made everything easy before, during and after. Renting the house was the equivalent of us paying for 4 hotel rooms, plus all the extra space, making it a real bargain. It is a perfect home away from home for a big family, or a luxurious getaway for a couple loving the space, quiet, beauty and access to so much nearby! We never rate VRBOs all 5s but this one is special.
