Clean bright place and nice location
The accommodations were nice and clean. The host was great and helpful, she even helped me get a replacement tire for my fishing boat trailer. We were able to catch bullheads of the dock in the evening and caught quite a few catfish off a rocky point they told us about. The kids had fun catching there first fish. The fire table worked well in the evening to gather around and have s’mores. They had kayaks and a canoe available and several games in the garage. We did use one of the small kayaks which the kids enjoyed. The lake is shallow, so you will need to pay attention if you are boating around. Overall, it was a nice relaxing stay.

Lakehouse
We've stayed at a few lakehouses. What we like about them is enjoying clean, clear water, swimming, fishing and kayaking. This lakehouse was clean had ample space. Host was responsive which was great. But we didn't enjoy the lake all that much. Pro: Large lake Clean lakehouse Lots of catfish and carp to catch Owners let us borrow two additional kayaks for free Con: Water was not clear very muddy with suspended algae Lake was not swimmable because it is only 4 ft deep and had a undesirable odor Goose problem that left fecal matter all over the backyard which left it smelling pretty bad No firepit, the propane firepit just wasn't fun Property is right next to a business so the view wasn't nice, not a secluded lakehouse

Week stay
We stayed Mon night through Friday. We did spend most of our time at the property. The lake setting is beautiful, and had excellent weather to enjoy it. The house is well kept, nothing fancy. We had everything we needed.

So far so good!
We had a lovely time at the lake house. Overall! We spent 3 days with friends here and enjoyed the summer sun, lake and a BBQ. Unfortunately, VRBO did not let our host know that we bring service dogs (trained, insured). That caused Carla to message us and send an upcharge. Not an issue at all, but bad communication between VRBO and the management company/host. I tried to message her but no response. The other issue was that she evicted us. It was part my fault. I have done a mistake when booking! Honest mistake wanted to check out Friday but only booked until Thursday. We were out with our friends on a 90 degree day, came back and our stuff was nicely packed outside. The sign said we cannot enter the proper anymore, should leave the key and we’re on camera. She would call the police if we do try to enter. We were devastated. With a 13 months old baby not so much fun. Carla tried to reach me via VRBO. I have a German phone and had no missed calls. Maybe she tried to call me as well. The thing was, we forgot a charger inside and messaged her. After 4 mins the handy man showed up and let us in. We assumed the property was booked for this night. As we would have of course paid for another night. But no chance. No booking this night. We stayed in a hotel and our friend had to pick us up after we reorganised our luggage. What a shocker! But at the end of the day. It is what it is. The property itself is nice. Old but clean. The lake is beautiful. Very natural. Boat rental right next to the house. I am not sure if I would book again after this experience. But I can recommend the house for a short stay.

Fun in the Sun on Sinissippi Lake
Warm sunshine in the day and cool breezes at night made for wonderful sleeping. This cozy home has everything you need for your Wisconsin lakeside vacation. We loved the lake and didn’t mind at all the squish of the mud bottom between our toes. We also rented a pontoon from the property owners whom run the marina next door. They are such wonderful hosts and will make sure your stay on Sinissippi Lake is a good one I’m certain.

Why they chose this property

Lake Sinissippi is home to lots of wildlife. We have Eagles nesting in the nearby trees. American Pelicans, Cranes, Herons and Canadian Geese all call this 3000 acre lake home. You might even see a deer swing across the bay. The Horicon Marsh is approximately 5 miles away.
