About this property

Quintessential Maine Beach Cottage

Classic Maine marsh-view beach cottage. Steps from Goose Rocks Beach, in a beautiful cove in quaint, historic Kennebunkport. Grab groceries, park the car, forget the world and enjoy paradise!!!

The house has three bedrooms - one queen room, one room with two twin beds, and one loft with a full-size bed. The living room and dining room span the entire front of the house with three walls of mostly windows overlooking the marsh. This is a classic, historic cottage, so the ceilings are not very tall and the home is not expansive. It’s about 900 square feet with everything on the first floor except the loft upstairs with the full-size bed.

The kitchen is fully stocked and has a functional island with all full-size appliances plus other small appliances like a microwave, blender, toaster, coffee pot, slow cooker, etc. There is a laundry room with stacked washing machine and dryer off the kitchen. The bathroom is good-sized and includes a corner standing shower and a sink with a vanity for storage. There are hooks on the backs of the bathroom and bedroom doors for wet towels and clothes. The house has heating in the winter months and air conditioning in the summer months. The linens are provided - the beds are freshly made up with clean linens before your arrival and bath and kitchen towels are also provided. Beach towels are also provided.

Outside, the yard has plenty of flat space for yard games (cornhole and kubb are in the shed for your use), a picnic table, a 10' x 15' canopy, a hammock for stringing between two trees, five Adirondack chairs, and a propane grill. Goose Rocks Beach is a short walk from the house - it takes approximately 2 minutes to walk to the edge of the property, across the crosswalk, and down the beach path to reach the beach! There are beach towels, beach wagon, beach shade umbrella, beach mats, beach toys, four beach chairs, a paddleboard, two kayaks, oars, and life jackets for your use.

This is a private home in a small town. The Town has some simple good neighbor policies to follow about parking and noise. The good neighbor policies are posted on the refrigerator. Also, the Town trash collection takes place early on Friday mornings. We will ask that if you are staying on a Friday that you kindly wheel the trash bins out to the curb from the shed on Thursday evening, and, if it isn't check-out day, wheel the bins back into the shed on Friday afternoon after trash collection has occurred. There is one recycling bin and one trash bin. Directions for what does (and does not) belong in each bin are located on top of the bins. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 10am. We are unable to provide early checkins or late checkouts because of the tight cleaning schedule. Thank you!

Hello! I'm Jill and I'm so excited to welcome you to our cozy beach cottage! My husband, my two teenage daughters and I love, love, love the Maine coast; it's our happy place and where we live our best lives! I'm a native Mainer, but the endless beauty of the Pine Tree State never ceases to amaze me!

Why they chose this property

Our beautiful cottage, built in the early 1900s, is a really special place! There are 180 degree views of the marsh out the windows in the living room/dining room area. You can watch the tide go in and out all day - the view is ever-changing and always beautiful. Goose Rocks Beach, a rare gem, is a quick walk across the street (there is a crosswalk) and down a sand path. It takes less than two minutes to make the walk. The path opens up to miles of gorgeous sandy beach in each direction. The private driveway can park two larger SUVs or trucks end-to-end or three-five smaller SUVs or cars side-by-side. Don't worry about finding parking to get to the beach - you have your own!

What makes this property unique

Inside the house, the living room is cozy with two couches, a chair, and a SmartTV. The dining room table is oval and seats six. There are cards and board games for playing around the table on evenings and rainy days. We also have coloring books and supplies, a variety of children's books and toys, and novels for curling up and reading. In the fun blue kitchen, there is an island that is great for food prep and extra storage. There is a full-size refrigerator, electric range oven, and dishwasher. We have a counter-top microwave, a 2-slice bagel-ready toaster, and slow cooker. We love to cook, so the kitchen is well-stocked with a variety of dishes, utensils, pans, bowls, and kitchen tools. Off the kitchen is a laundry room with stacked washer and dryer.

Outside of the awesome common spaces, there is an amazing loft upstairs with a full-size bed, a SmartTV, and a bean bag chair. Downstairs, the primary bedroom has a super comfy queen size platform bed, with bedside tables and lamps, a closet, and storage behind the door. The second bedroom has two cozy twin size beds with a bureau, bedside tables and lamps. The bathroom is pretty large for a cottage! There is a corner shower and a vanity with storage. There are hooks behind all the doors for hanging up bath towels and beach towels! There is heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer!
