We found the furnishings of the house to be lacking. We let the host know about the issues I am about to mention, but got no response from them. The beds were very inexpensive mattresses from American Freight that sagged terribly, causing you to roll to the middle. Basically, they folded you up like a taco. The stove had a burner that didn't work. The dishwasher was torn from the countertop, so it would fall out when you opened the door.
These other things were just things we noticed that really shouldn't be, especially at this price point. The house was supposed to sleep 6 but only had dining room for four. The toilet was loose from the floor. There was a hole in the floor beside the tub that was filled with caulk. The kitchen was not equipped well if you actually wanted to cook.
Of great concern to us was that the host had the door to the garage padlocked. While this is not terribly unusual in a rental house, the issue is that the locked door created a serious safety concern in that there is only one other way out of the house in case of an emergency, the front door.
The host responded well at the beginning of the booking, before our arrival. We received our check in information late the night before we were to arrive, which seems later than most. After our booking though, when we mentioned some problems, we heard nothing in return from out host. If we had options once we arrived, we would have left this booking for another place.
